In all the years she's been fighting, I've never seen her striking improve. She's tough, sure, but poor technique, all around.
The point was if it had been a fluke in the first fight,Amanda could have stick to her approach from the first fight to win easily a rematch.
If you uses a different gameplan in the rematch it is possible that this did the trick and wouldn't if she had used the same style as in the first match(it is possible at least),in this case it wouldn't have been a fluke Pena beat Nunes in their first fight because amanda had to adapt.

That second fight really showed the difference in levels on their striking. Amanda changed her stance and Peña became a deer in headlights. I was really surprised she never adapted

Have to give it to her, she did beat Amanda in the first fight, it IS 1-1 - so I guess the rubber match is necessary but she seemed outclassed in fight 2. IF June 10 she beats her, of course I will give her credit where credit is due.

It’s crazy to think of the timeline of Pena fluking her way into the top of the division.
Went from getting choked out by GDR, the kickboxer, to begging for a title shot off 1 win over McMann. Fair enough beating Nunes on her absolute worst night and then proceeding to loose 5-0 in the rematch. Now getting a trilogy main event fight when she didn’t even defend her title.
It’s actually crazy when you look at it because from an objective viewpoint, Pena belongs in the middle of the rankings given her actual skill set but BW is such a terrible division these days
It's easy to say that but pena made a slight error in that gdr fight she was on her way to winning and underestimated Germanaines ability to grapple in key positions. That's the only reason gdr won and in a rematch julianna would submit germaine. Book it.
