Appreciated the tips and tricks guys. As an Aussie, at least we have 240v elec and other similarities with Europe but you seem to have reinforced that it's better to buy local rather than ship. I love skiing and so want to chase the powder in different continents, Australia being the opposite to Europe and the U.S. It's taken me many years to get the setup right here in Australia for sub-zero camping; 4WD + Caravan, so I had long considered something like a 4x4 Iveco with a cabin on the back; good for snowy/icy roads and with plenty of capacity for a camper on the back. Which European country to buy, where to get insurance, registration - its still really complicated, but thank you for the honest appraisal so far.
Seabridge is a company that ships and insures EU recreation vehicles in North America. I see a lot of the (especially from Germany) in Canada in the summer. Worth it if you stay more than a month.
I am planning to ship my pickup towing an RV behind it to Europe for 6 months. Can you please recommend any company that insures USA/Canadian registered vehicles in the EU? Other than TourInsur.de. I am a European and I am aware of the implications. Thank you so much.
You are talking about towing cars. I believe that's true for many EU countries but I would not categorically say it's true for every country on the European continent. I am talking about travel trailers and fifth wheels in this video when I say 'towables'. Here you would call travel trailers 'caravans' which are legal and pretty common in Europe but as very different mechanical requirements as compared to north america. Fifth wheels on the other hand do not exist here. I am not referring to motorized vehicles in this video.
Thank you Freely Roaming, I found this to be extremely helpful… I totally appreciate all of the information and how I’ll be able to make better decisions for future travels. I hope you guys are doing well wherever you maybe 😊🚐 #vanlife
What wonderful info. Thank you! How do I know if I can ship my oldl 97 Rav4 over? I just love my old reliable paid for car LOL.

Another great video. Lots of good info. Patiently waiting for part 2.
Thank you! It will be published later today.
Did you refill your propane tanks in Romania? How was it overall, where did you stay?
Hi! Thank you for useful information!
Could you share your way to stay in Europe more than 6 months?
Thank you!
This is the video I needed... thank you so much!.
What about Europeans going to North America? Ship or buy over there?
A lot of the same answers here would apply going that way too.

So then how do you empty your american style black tank with the Stinky Slinky? and where do you empty it?
We don't have a black tank that uses a stinky slinky. This video explains out setup for that. th-cam.com/video/omeJCJYG7uY/w-d-xo.html

Sounds very complicated.
its actually illegal to tow a car in Europe. People who take a car with them need to put them on a trailer.
