Hi guys! Sorry I completely forgo to upload this, with everything that happened with the pets recently I forgot I'd filmed this, it was filmed a month or so ago, unfortunately Opal has passed away since then but it's nice to see her in some of these clips. Hope the video is helpful :)
I always meet wild mice on my walks in the forest and your enclosure really reminds me of that environment :) I know you can't compare wild animals to pets, but seeing your mice explore this lovely home you made for them is almost like watching my friends in the forest crawl through leaves and run along branches on the ground!
That’s so cool! What country do you live in?! I live in a Australia and in the city so the only mice I see that aren’t mine are the ones living behind our sink 🤣😆
I love how you dont add punctuation to the end of video titles and dont clickbait us also love that you use a general neutral voice and tone. Love you Emi❤
Ok but do a lot of re-search lol I can see you have been doing some already if not a lot :) I just got my girls like two months ago and I didn't get them the right size cage but I have enough to upgrade to a 40-50 gallon tank so hopefully soon! God luck with your mice!!!
I loved the video! My kitten really liked it too. He was watching it and purring and the he went to sleep. Lol. Bruno is sending some kitten kisses over your way 😊.
This was an amazing video, and I'm sorry for your loss. On a happier note, do you think you could make a similar video for rats? I know you have gone over a lot of information, but could you make a specific video about it? Thank you for being you, and keep doing what you're doing.
I live in NZ and have one male mouse. Lots of these things aren't available where I live but this has opened to my eyes to the fact his cage isn't good enough. Its all wire - thank you for your content!
I could watch videos like this the whole day😁 It's so calming. A lot of the things you have for your cage, I bought for my mice, too. And I bought them this little white/pink mouse (cat toy). Hope they will like and use it when I finally get it. Love your videos.
160th like!!! Your mice are all so cute! I'm getting a hamster on Wednesday (she's a long haired Syrian named Willow) so it's been nice watching a video all about mice as I've been doing so much hamster research lately and it's nice to learn all about different animals as well! ♥😂
Wow this mouse cage is amazing 🐭 I love the background of this set up, all the fun ropes and cute hides. Your mice are so adorable and so lucky to have such a great mom❤️
Do I own mice or rats? No. Do I ever plan on it? No. Are rats illegal where I live? Yes. Am I subscribed to this channel and watch these videos? You bet!
Any suggestions on mice that like to chew the floor of the cage? Really cautious about getting any wooden etc toys incase they to try and eat that too. They have tonnes of cardboard tubes, boxes etc but yea
With the detolf the flooring is glass so they can't chew it. Don't worry about wooden toys they're meant to be chewed, mice and rats grind everything down into a small dust and they're smart enough to know not to swallow it :)
@@Emiology 😱 really, I always worried that they'd eat it, guess I'm too used to having dogs and cats which are kinds idiots in comparison 😅😅 I really do need to upgrade my girls to a detolf just all my sides I have atm are all different heights or not quite long enough grrr 🤣 Either that or a longer vivarium, then it could just be put on the floor 🤔🤔
I am so sorry I just realised that but btw even though I can’t see u I still think it cool that you answered my question I’ve been bragging about it to my friends
So cute! I’m glad you give them a lot of space! I always wanted to own a colony of mice but I can never find fancy one only feeder mice 🐭 I’m happy though I currently have 4 females rats soon I will be adding a 5th she was just born yesterday so won’t get her for awhile but very excited 😊 as always love watching your videos
I was wondering what you think of open fronted cages? I've seen some people who have an open front that relighs on the mice natural instinct not to fall which really interests me bit I am of course worried something could happen. Is this something anyone knows anything about?
I’ve seen people do this but I don’t think I would. They have good depth perception but I’ve had one mouse launch off the side of my cage luckily into my hand
I love the setup! It looks so nice and fun for them 💕 may I ask your opinion on tank sizes for different mouse quantities? I keep wanting to upgrade at the same time that I think they have enough space. But I’m not a big TH-camr and I know that people have different opinions, but I thought that you might know since you own so many mice and are so experienced with them :3 (thank you if you take the time to respond!! 😊)
Emiology thank you! 😊 currently I am left with one mouse. (Getting two more ASAP!) I had three, two passed. I originally had them in a habitrail ovo, which I realized was my mistake, so after about a week I decided to buy a 20 gallon, which is what my one female is in for the moment. I will look into upgrading them, but for now do you think a 20 gallon will please them?
Where do you get the bedding from? And how much is it? I’m getting 3 boy rats and we were thinking of using that bedding. X❤️ love your videos so much, you’re the best!🥰🥰
I buy it from "carcroft pet supplies" from £20. I've never used it as the base bedding, just a later on top as I find it to be a bit dusty for my roborovskis, but it does last a while and is very affordable for the size
Great video!! I've just got a group of 8 females🙈 housed in a 4ft tank they are great!! I'll definitely add more of the aubiose as they do love to dig. Any tips on taming? Thankyou 😊
Hey I have a really awesome question. I'm trying to not spend as much money. So I know you explained the bedding but can I add that white bedding for the whole thing??
what do you use for the roof of the enclosure? im hoping to get some mice soon and while ive done a lot of research i wanna make sure i do the absolute best for them lol
Yaya, happy to have found this! I'm hoping to get two female mice when I move and (finally) have my own room. I really want to make sure I give them a good life so this video is helpful. :) I'm going to try and do as much research as I can so when I do move, I'll be prepared to give them a good home
I’ve been wondering for a while if I can give my male mouse a small tub of water for the hot days or is there a problem with the oils in their fur so could he get a sand bath
I know this is an old video but I'm new to mice and was wondering if you have any tips to set up glass enclosures/tanks for mice particularly on how to attach water bottles and hanging toys as mine has a high lid and is an old aquarium , thanks!
I just went to adopt a male mouse I felt sorry for at my local humane society and when I got there I found out he had two brothers. What could I do? I took them all and had to run out and get 2 more cages. Within 10 minutes of putting them in their cages, they were running on their wheels, furnishing their little houses with fluff, having a snack, and taking naps. I've had rats before but never mice so I'm finding your vids very helpful!
I like this tutorial - altough heavy stones resting on the bedding are not the safest choice. They could collapse on the mice if they burrow under them. Always best to have heavy decorations standing directly on the bottom of the enclosure. But still, I think these detolf cages are cool. Pretty low though, a topper would add more vertical space. Mice do live to climb.
What is a good source for a 84x48.5x44cm enclosure? I started watching one of your mice rescue videos and you said those are Alaska cages and the minimum size you can get. Is there a link to that product where I can find it/check it out? Thank you for your education on mice. I am a new keeper and want to give them a good home.
I am so jealous of your mouse care. I have a 36 x 12 cage with a homemade lid and well it is not strong enough to hold hanging toys. I have been trying to upgrade for a while but haven't gotten to it yet. Hope you are doing well!

Hello I wanted to ask if using only hay as bedding for mice is fine
No it’s not absorbent enough it will smell very quickly
For everybody in the netherlands you can buy the exact same bedding in Ranzijn 😊

Hi so im going to be getting mice in one to two weeks and was wondering what size of a cage for two mice do you recommend
this was so helpfull, im getting 4 mice for my birthday and i want the perfect home for them

"Recycled tea bag bedding" has got to be the most British thing I've heard in a long time.

Aww your mice are so cute 💙

I’d say minimum for 2-3 mice 20 gal, 3-4 mice 40 gal, 5-6 a 60 gal plus. Personally I wouldn’t use anything smaller than 40 gal for any mice ☺️
