its great someone is able to counter the PPA and be so confident in what they say. your one of the few people who wont suck up to them and im glad your keeping it real with your supporters. keep it up please
Love the podcast! We are so proud of you two standing up. I played Womens Professional Softball back in 1976 and know exactly what happens when the game becomes all about money. Of course they managed to destroy the league by 1977. I stood up to cruelty back then and found myself standing alone on a sidewalk in West Seneca NY with $20 in my pocket, worldly belongings at my feet. Very scary for my 23 year old self, but made me incredibly strong throughout my life. Glad you two have each other! Stay strong and know we are behind you! By the way, I LOVE the AirBender I won and thank you again for going the extra mile to get it to me when the first one didn't arrive.
Another great podcast, ladies! So fun to actually meet and talk with you at The Fort too! And super appreciate your efforts on interuption level...A+, K-Dub! Jilly, what a strong performance on the court..2 for 2 golds! Next time add singles for triple crown!
Just wanted to comment, Selkirk absolutely has no equity exchange with PPA/UPA. The only owners/equity in Selkirk are the 4 Barnes. We’ve never received outside investment and do not have any investment in PPA/UPA/MLP or any Dundon owned entity.
Dog-gonnit. I don't have a Twitter account. As I said at least two dozen (hundred) times, over the last 5 years, PPA will not change. PPA will not change management. PPA management and ownership are vampiric entities sucking the blood and lifeform out of the sport of pickleball! The Olsen and Barnes meeting was great. So my question is, does anybody, anybody out there have anything good to say about the PPA / UPA? NO. And it's been like that now for five, fkng, years. Including you two. For PRO Pickleball to become a viable, positive, entertaining sport for viewers and players alike, one of three things has to happen. 1. The PPA has to bottom out and sell out. 2. The players have to form a strong players union which upholds paddle standards, venue standards, rules standards, and other multiple SOPs. Or 3. Somebody buys out PPA and PRO Pickleball basically starts over. Remember, recreational players do not need pro pickleball. Pro pickleball on the other hand, needs recreational players to view and enjoy the sport. If suddenly pro pickleball ended, IM O, what, maybe 5% of people playing pickleball out there would be disappointed. Thank you for your time, David from Vietnam out. 🙂 Ps. I'll probably edit this 20 times like usual😅
Thank you for using your voice to speak the truth. A few things... MLP will be a bust. Think of World Team Tennis in the mid-1970s. It had the best players in the world. These players were worldwide superstars... not niche celebrities. Tennis was at the apex of its popularity... beyond anything pickleball can imagine. And yet, WTT failed. You cannot make a team competition out of something that is basically an individual sport. Think not just tennis, but golf, swimming, Nascar. Pickleball is more like bowling. The masses love it regardless of who or what is happening at the highest levels of the sport. Pro bowling? Nobody is watching.
Dear ladies, haven't you learned yet that PPA does not want to invest anything that does not make them an instant profit. How about finding a sports agent or a sports agent company that would represent all pro pickleball players for a discounted percentage. Did the Johnson 5 benefit from having a sports agent? 😊 PS. I decided not to edit the previous comment as you benefit from more comments in the TH-cam algorithm. 🙂
It's interesting and I agree with you about the incident with CJ Klinger. As other players hear about this, what will it take for players to stand together and literally fight the PPA? After an incredibly great player who's just 17 years old gets screwed.
Not on twitter but if PPA leadership said those things, they should not be leaders of what could become a public company. That being said , there is a long back story with Jill from DUPR and negativity from other players. Despite this, the PPA behavior is not professionally acceptable. We are all trying to grow the sport and all this gossipy behavior is not helping.
Last comment I swear😅 I saw Quang Doung playing with a proton in Da Nang, Vietnam last month. So, about him giving away or selling paddles. Is it him, or is it his father? I don't know squat, but I'm betting it's his father or his father's influence. Thank you again, both of you, for your time.
It is worst if his father was selling but it doesn’t matter, Quang is a Vietnamese (I don’t know if he also is a Vietnamese-American like many of us living in the states) and breaching a contract is morally corrupted.
Conner has often defended the quality of the pickleball streams, explaining that they use the same cameras, and when the quality is poor, it's usually due to TH-cam's feed compressing the video. This seems likely because when the streams are on major TV networks, they are smooth and clear. However, the gritty streams make the games hard to watch. Additionally, they don't do enough close-ups to capture the players' expressions, which would add emotion to the viewing experience. Watching ranks and swearing from a distance is only mildly interesting. Another significant issue is the scheduling of MLP and PPA games at the same venues. While this might save money, it results in eight consecutive days of pickleball, featuring the same players in the finals and often the same winners. For example, seeing Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns win repeatedly can make viewers question why they are watching. I believe the MLP format is better because it builds teams and merchandise around home teams. They should not allow players to compete in both MLP and PPA leagues at the same time.. Even if Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters continue to dominate the PPA games, not having them in MLP would allow viewers to see different teams winning matches and build bigger fan bases.... it's better for merchandising and makes watching pickleball more riveting.
i think you may have either unintentionally or clickbait misrepresented using the word "Emergency". That being said, the response to that from C suite executives was beyond childish and in my opinion shows a lack of leadership or business acumen and its scary to see the hands the future of the ppa are in...PS way to ruin triple Fudge Sunday
Connor and Samhin are very thin skinned. Ive played Connor in the past and he is a drama queen. The Kitchen is a horrible representation of pickleball. Connor has a huge ego which isnt substantiated by his play or business acumen. He is a POS

The only relationship we’ve ever had with PPA is that of a sponsor.

It was great seeing you both at the APP Fort! That veneue is amazing and now I am home shopping to get near it!
How come you didn’t go back to Gruvn? Just curious

"x" (formerly known as twitter)
I’m a brand ambassador for Paddletek. Been selling a lot of paddles due to all the banned paddles. People are really liking Paddletek.
the paddles aren't a music group
@ thanks internet grammar police 🤦🤡 it has been corrected
Gotta agree. Currently playing the ALW-C and am loving everything about it

@PTL4179 agree. I actually have watched many matches with QD and I actually think that his father coaches him during the matches. So not a big fan.
I know you identify as ladies but you gals have big balls and I love it. ❤

Unfortunately, the top female and male are bought and paid for to get a player collective started from the top down.
How do you know your statement is truthful? Person starts attacking you and not your information

House hold names. If you bet Ben or Anna then you will get your fifteen minutes. Then you will have to bee their toughest opponents.
