Mike; The great musician, composer, and movie and TV score writer Henry Mancini; there haven't been many in the 20th. century, with his talents of prolific music writing skills. I was blessed to see him three times in a concert setting; twice with his travelling orchestra, and the other time, was with his chorus voices as well. The first time, I was with Andy Williams as a twin bill. The last time, was just with the orchestra. So many of his pieces have the interlude dominating by the check in and check out again of the electronic organ (Hammond I do Believe). His corroboration with Andy Williams was always special. The last time he was here in my town, he was featuring the 'JAZZ' sound of the orchestra. He noted that he wanted to thank his parents for booking him in for piano lessons, but also, along the way, he had latched onto the flute, and they had paid for those lessons as well. Those pieces of his repertoire, that have a flute solo (there were many), he said he wanted to show off that his parents' money wasn't wasted. He promptly jumped in and played those solo flute parts for two selections. It's too bad, the venue settings for those Manicin''s concerts weren't staged in an auditorium, instead of an arena, they would have sounded so much better. Next Mike, and even if you've already recorded this selection; you might want to give the piece 'Baby Elephant Walk' from the movie 'Hatari' a whirl. It has a wonderful electronic organ theme running clear through it. I often thought the piece was using the organ to mimic a calliope; I.E., the stuff of circus wagons on parade rolling down Main Street.
Excellent arrangement and performance of a tune that almost everyone easily recognizes, not just jazz aficionados (me). Too bad Hank didn't get the opportunity to hear you, for he would have been proud.
In my youth I roller skated to live organ music 3x a week in Line Lexington, PA. A good organ player knew how to arrange tempos of the music to get you a good workout from playing a mild paced song, to faster paced, to fever pitched, and then to bring it back down.
I can hear this pre-game on a Sunday afternoon at a ballpark as the field is being groomed after batting practice. Awesome, man.
Hammond is so good for this !
This guy is a big jazz player. He swings beautifully.

Wonderful
Love that bassline - great work.
The Pink Panther theme is so evocative of all the shenanigans that went on in the movie ! Nailed it again, Mike.
This and some other Henry Mancini songs and some notable ones by others are, I think, viewed by many of a certain age as "the soundtrack of my life."
Go Mike, great playing, as usual.
Muy linda version del tema!su forma de tocar es hipnotica.Felicitaciones.

Awesome! Thanks much for a BIG bunch of inspiration. I melted at that pose on 0:10 already. I'll humbly borrow some of it. Cheers!
Could yo do an upbeat version of Harlem Nocturne & Attack from Patton ?
I have this idea for a concept skating rink nightclub that all the music is tunes played on the Hammond organ...
