I think Untamed is one of the best names out there cause it fits the theme and the area quite well. Also it's an RMC so it really does make sence.

I’m a fan of the literalness of “The Big One” given it is still the tallest in the UK and, likely will stay that way for a while. It probably elicited the same form of shocked reaction from park goers on it’s opening year that Magnum did for Cedar Point. You’re preparing yourself to tackle something far bigger than anything seen before this side of the Atlantic, and that name stands proud. Just my thoughts.

I completely and utterly agree that it will stay that way for a while.
I quite like a lot of the names on the list. Like Steel Vengence, and Candymonium. They're a bit different from the norm and imo that gives the name something a little special.
My family and I rename coasters for fun. Usually an inside joke or something to describe the coaster. Our best one to date was for the Mantis at Cedar Point... after an exceptionally painful ride, my husband more appropriately named it the Man Twist.
Some names I personally am not a fan of: Racer 75, any coaster that's actually named Roller Coaster, Twisted Cyclone, Twisted Colossus, Hurler
Also I personally like the name Steel Vengeance, tho I do agree that Iron Gwazi is a terrible name.
Racer 75 should’ve been named “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

I've always wondered what Valravyn and Rougarou meant. I figured they weren't made up but didn't expect them to come from folklore.

"The Bobs" bit actually comes from the legendary Bobs roller coasters that terrorized folk at Chicago's Riverview Park. A P&C classic that had a reputation as one of the most intense rides ever.
Raging Wolf Bobs was based on the original Bobs as well, if memory serves.

Lol I did a remake of Coast Rider in Planet Coaster. I love remaking garbage coasters and trying to make them have an interesting atmosphere. Good video, I may be late but I am enjoying these.

I actually like a fair number of these - can't have a list like this without mentioning Roller Coaster at Lagoon (can't possibly be any lazier than that). There actually might be quite a few names like that, especially when you add in family fun centers and the like - maybe more than 25. For example, CJ Barrymore's has 2 coasters: Spinning Coaster (an SBF Spinner) and Loop Roller Coaster (a Pinfari Zyklon). The most laughable thing about Loop Roller Coaster is that THIS was the winner of a Facebook naming contest! 🤣

OMG you made my day with #1!!!! I could not agree more. HORRIBLE, LAZY name and that it has ANY semblance to Six Flags is a slap in the face to Busch’s long history of QUALITY coasters with unique names... including the original Gwazi!
Mine busters name makes since because before Yukon striker added frontier Canada to replace a huge chunk of the grand world expedition of 1890 it made since because that was canadas like addition to this like worlds fair in the land but know it kinda makes since because it’s in frontier land but eh
I’m probably going to end up commenting a few times. First off, I totally disagree about Steel Curtain. I think it’s an underrated ride and name. Also, the joke about people forgetting they’re in Canada after getting their mind erased was just too much 😂 it killed me, well done.
I think "Son of Beast" was named in the tradition of monster movie sequel titles such as "Son of Godzilla", "Son of Kong", and "Son of Frankenstein".
The new "Top Thrill 2" is definetely deserving of this list. Like, what is a top thrill exactly?

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about Son of the Beast; that was a great name!
Riding The Beast remains a high item on my bucket list, and the moment I heard "Son of the Beast" I was instantly drawn to not only that coaster but the one that spawned it.
Too bad I will never get to ride Son of the Beast, though... I never had the money to fly all the way out to Ohio and now I missed my chance.
I think Flight Deck is a good name. If you think about it the loading station is like a flight deck of a carrier.
"X2" is at least as bad as "New Texas Giant."

Steel curtain makes perfect sense for where its at. It's in "steelers Country" both in the park and in the city. I understand people from outside the area wouldn't get it, but I don't think Kennywood cares of you get it or not. lol
Although being from Pittsburgh and knowing how important football is… They should’ve called it Steel Blitz. I am still a big defender of Candymonium. Hershey is a family park and even though the ride is the best coaster there, I think that fits perfectly for the park and the coaster. I also really like steel vengeance as a name. I also agree that a coaster should not be named after the type of ride it is.

They tried to fit it into a theme and failed badly in my opinion, I really wish they’de changed the name when the whole area had a re-theme so something like “Forest Escape”

I always hated the name hurler at KD and carowinds. (It's been converted to an RMC at KD) It just makes me think the ride will make me sick. The Hurler doesn't make you sick though. It just puts you to sleep with its boring layout.

I have to disagree on a lot of these names. I actually think a lot of these names like Untamed, Mind Eraser, Scream, Steel Curtain and even Steel Vengeance. Besides, I can actually think of dozens of coasters in Asia that have even weirder names than all these coasters.

Ha! How ironic the Iron Gwazi PoV came out today! I see what you mean with the IG change, but the name Gwazi was supposedly made up in the first place. So they re-themed it to a crocodile...which is a little lazy once you think about it, but most RMC reworks are "Iron" this "Steel" that or "Twisted" something.

The Bobs in Raging Wolf Bobs is a throwback to the legendary Riverview Park Bobs (Chicago) which the ride was loosely based on. From what it seems it wasnt a worthy successor.

I think Scream is by far the worst and laziest. Something about adding that coaster has always seemed off. The bland theming, uninspired name, off putting colors and over mediocre B&M layout just don’t make it a good fit for the park. Not to mention it’s in a parking lot.
Before Paragon Park closed they had a coaster called "Giant Coaster". It changed names when it was moved.

There's one in China that translates into "Roller Coaster". There are many coaster titled "Roller Coaster", and even a defunct kiddie coaster called "Super Coaster".

Being from The Burgh I love the name Steel Curtain. Any reference to the Stillers go over there. If you are gonna have a local park that goes into the Roots of the city of Pittsburgh, this is the best name for a ride ever especially for a Pittsburgh Steelers themed area.....and it's a steel coaster. I'll take naming a Black and Yellow Coaster the Steel Curtain over Big Ben's Wild Bathroom ride, believe that 😂😂😂
Regarding Steel Vengeance, I love the name. Without the backstory, I always thought of it as Mean Streak coming back with a vengeance.

Let's make a new law. You can only use an existing ride name if it's a clone of that ride. So Batman clones are OK as long as they have the same layout as the one at Great America. All subsequent Goliaths have to be changed. Subsequent Supermans, Jokers and Wonder Women have to change. One of The Mummy rides has to change. Little Dippers across the US. Cyclones. Etc.

Something that I learned last year was that there is actually no such thing as a "Gwazi" in African folklore. Busch Gardens themselves admitted during an interview after the first announcement of Iron Gwazi, that they made that name up for the ride theme back for the original GCI dueling wood coaster form.

I think "Wonder Woman: Golden Lasso Coaster" is the worst coaster name for a new coaster in a very long time. I'm genuinely surprised you didn't give it a mention, especially since you named Railblazer as a good name in your other video. The term gwazi was made up by busch gardens so them calling the new ride iron gwazi doesn't bother me. Also crocodiles are the coolest creatures 😎
