This is seriously impressive for her first int. competition back after 1 year and a half fully away from the ice and I cannot wait to keep watching her skate. Also that held edge out of the first 2A was SPECTACULAR thank you SO much Massimo Scali
I liked the program!! She looks gorgeous with this hair and dress! Her jumps looked good as were her spins. The choreo is clearly under developement but I like the disco vibe of this program, is very audience-pleasing! Well done, Alysa!!
Agreed. The music is fantastic and she needs to really get into it. The moves looks rushed and not finished. This program is be a fabulous fit for Loena Hendrix
@@topazgirl170 Even though the song is upbeat, the lyrics aren't and there's some intensity that she could bring out. It's early, but hopefully she takes it in that direction.
this music, hair, and costume is the perfect vibe for her!! in love with this program conceptually and if the choreography is just developed a little more it will be perfection!! the jumps were amazing as well. honestly can’t believe this is her first competition back. i love to see it.
This is going to look really good once she's skating full out. She said in an interview like a week ago that they're still working on building stamina back up so I imagine she's holding back quite a bit.
Love the music, enjoy the program. I'd like to see Alysa do some disco moves with her hips and arms in the "Heaven Knows" part of the program to liven up to the beats, she seems shy. Keep working on it, Alysa. So happy you're back.
in love with the hair and the dress, and im beyond impressed at how consistent she is despite being retired for a little bit.. it’s actually insane. but i really don’t like this music 😭 her short program suits her so much better than this.
she is so much comfortable with her mature body then she had the growth spur.. I like this LP a lot, and with her jumping skills, she is on par with 95% of the women competing so good for her.
Welcome 🤗 back 🔙!!! Alysa!!! Senior American female skaters are making a comeback!!! I can't wait for US Nationals, because it's going to be INSANE for Worlds in the United States!!!😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I remember there was a very talented contestant sing "MacArthur Park" on "American Idol" years (maybe over a decade) ago and even then it was a headscratcher. The music is just so dated. I like how Alyssa is having fun and attempting 7 triples, but this doesn't work as a competitive free skate for me. Maybe as a SP. But you have to have Nicole Bobek-level charisma to carry this off. Still, if this helps her performance ability and she comes back with 2 judge friendly programs next year, I don't mind it as a stepping stone. But I can just as easily see her replacing this with another program in a few months.
I simply can't believe what Alysa is doing after 2 years away from competition. She pops off a 3A like it is nothing. All the best to her as she progresses through her comeback season !! ❤ 🎉 😊
If shes thinking long term like im hoping, i think i know why she did the flip jump first. Soon it wont be a triple anymore. Also im sure i know why she did her 2A when she did it. Soon it wont be a 2A anymore and im sure it will be more than a 2A and a sequence jump.
Thank God Alyssa is back. The season was looking a little bleak. I love them all, but Bradie’s Irish dancing program was so outdated, EkaterinaKurakova’s Cats routine is just cringey and Loena’s flirty moves to the judges are getting a little old.
First of all, Congrats on the win. What a comeback ! For the downside, I think she needs a much better choreographer and probably also better music. Too much of this program feels like just skating around between the jumps; The dancing portions feel incomplete and very juniorish. She has the jumps, the consistency and the desire and ability to win. Please give her better packaging.
Alysa's program content pre-retirement was never the most complex or sophisticated. Which also made sense because she was very young and more of a technician than an artist. She also wasn't training throughout her entire retirement. If they jumped in with content that was drastically different from what she was doing before while she's trying to stabilize her technical elements I don't think that would end well. I think her team is taking a smart approach.
Alysa might just need some time to polish up the choreography and get her stamina back for the second half of the program. The choreographer is Massimo Scali, who does a lot of ice dance stuff for Orihara/Pirinen and Turkkila/Versluis, also Alysa's 2022 Olympic programs. He's the one doing both her short and free this year and I think the SP works really well!
@@LoLovesLifeI don't know if I agree, her programs during her Olympic year were quite choreographically sophisticated, especially the short and the initial cut of the free she used at nebelhorn and Lombardia that year before they reordered the content
@@Cassie-pt7mt She's honestly looking good in my opinion! Way better than i expected after such a long pause from competing. She has clearly been working hard.
First of all who asked. Second of all take a page from commentator and professional skater Mark Hanretty and keep the negativity to yourself. OR post a video of you doing it better. 🙄
@@Elena-l6g5s It is easy to criticise and be an Internet troll, but where is your figure skating performance to view and compare to Alysa's performance?

I like the use of 80s music.
Congratulations Alysa! What an awesome return to Olympic and World level figure skating! 🙂❤
Oh, Johnny Weir (and tara) is gonna LIVE for this ladies!
Congratulations Team USA😊

The music is a great break from all the other music being used in skating right now.

Her endurance is good. This upcoming season just got more interesting.

Totally lol!! Reminds me of Mariah Bell and her Abba medley 😂

the music is fire. only people with good taste can appreciate it

maybe george harrison!
Someone get her to a workout class with Denise Beillman immediately !
Why? No don’t answer. Clearly your post is classless and rude.
Why? I think high intensity aerobics choreography from denise is exactly what this programme needs !
that was a beautiful 2.5S 🤣😂.
Can you do that?
Sloppy and slow
If you have nothing good to say, it is better not to say anything at all!

She won! And she'll only get better since she had a break from skating.
@AnaGarsia-bb7gj Sloppy and slow two years ago, even sloppier and even slower now 😂
