In Canada, the post office has a service at this time of year. Children can write to Santa, for free. The letters are answered by the staff, and a reply is sent by Santa. The return letter would have a special Santa postmark, from the post office in the North Pole. I believe that it is done voluntary by the staff. I don’t know if that tradition is still being done. I grew up in a small town,and my mom worked at the post office, so she would bring the letters home to work on them. As I got older, I would help her. It was a great way to share time with my mom, and talk about the kids growing up in our town. It always got me in the spirit of the season.
