  • Bisgear asked if we would review their Camping Cookware Set. We said yes and they shipped one to us straight away, at no charge.
    In this video I 1)unbox and review the set; 2)see how much water the pot, pan and one of the bowls hold; 3)use the set to cook scrambled eggs; and 4)have a quick look at how to pack the set again.
    This is a small cookset designed to be everything needed for backpacking. The pot, its lid and the pan are made of anodized aluminum giving them non-stick surfaces.
    The kit I received contained: anodized aluminum pot with lid, anodized aluminum pan, 2 plastic bowls, mini burner with piezo igniter (with plastic case), folding stainless steel spork, plastic ladel with folding metal handle, wooden spoon, loofah sponge, carabiner and nylon carrying bag.

    Great review! shows all items from several angles and even puts them to the test. Couldn't ask for much more.

    The egg stuck where you didn't scrape the bottom. You also got the thing too hot by not taking it off from time to time

    You did a very nice video. I bought this cook set before I saw this video. When I bought it from Amazon, the description said that the pans and pots were non-stick but I’m very disappointed that they have a very cheap nonstick coating on it. Even when I try to fry an egg, it sticks to the pan like crazy! Mine didn’t work as well as yours in the video. So that puts limitations on what I could cook because I cannot use any metal to scrape it or to clean the pan because it still has that cheap nonstick surface. Mine came with a foldable fork, knife, spoon, spork and the rest of the stuff showned in the video which I do like.
    I don’t think I will buy this Cook set if I knew that the nonstick surface was so cheap!

    Either remove the pan for a moment OR reduce the heat! Don't use that stove at full blast, gas stoves can usually be adjusted very finely.

    Nice cookware kit. I was wondering if you could nest a small bottle of fuel in it, but it doesn't look like it.

      @wobblyotteroutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BrewCityRider... If there is a fuel bottle that is not more than 4.5" in diameter and not more than 2.5" high, then it will fit inside the little pot with the lid on top and a tiny bit of room all around.

      +BrewCityRider ... We recently tried it out and the 100 gram fuel bottle WILL fit inside this little Bisgear camp cook set. We just uploaded a video showing which fuel bottles fit which kjts! Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/A43FSTv-2Go/w-d-xo.html

      Hello! I was wondering since I just bought one like this, do you have to season it with oil before cooking with it? Thanks, stay healthy!

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Emry. No need to season these little pans with oil before using them. Hope you are well.

    I have seen many reviews on this but for some reason they each come with different things

      +Isa marron ... I have noticed that too when looking at the kit over time on Amazon. The kit has changed over time. What is in the kit noted at the time of purchase should be what is received.

    I've been trying to find out how much gas it consumes , so I can calculate how many gas cans should I buy !!! Do u have the grams per hours measure of gas consumption?

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, sure don't. It would be easy enough for you to test out before your outing so that you know what to expect. Get a can of fuel, your stove and use it for cooking like you will in the field - until you use up all the fuel in that can. That should give you a good idea of how many meals/uses you can get out of it in a real-use situation. That's often a better gauge than numbers alone.

    how to know it is bpa free?

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two things that indicate it is BPA free...
      1. The seller stated it.
      2. The word polypropylene is stamped on the bottom of the plastic bowls and the ladle. Polypropylene is certifiably BPA-free (and free of other bisphenols as well).
      www.quora.com/Does-polypropylene-plastic-contain-bisphenol-compounds
      Ultimately, we are relying on the integrity and follow of correct labeling standards by the manufacturer.

    Bought the identical set on Amazon before seeing your video. Nice review, but a cheesy product.

    I feel like there is only one factory in China that manufactures this stuff and other companies put their logo on it.

    I will give the Chinese credit. When they see something that's a good idea, they clone the heck out of it. With a few variations, of course.

    The only bad thing I observed is that the eggs were overcooked.

    Question, would this work indoors?? Bc 2023 will come in heavy and we'll 3 days of darkness will be coming all over the USA. And dk how to say this, but we cannot open windows or door's God's orders. Many will die. So I'm trying to find out what to do with a 2 year old alone with me being 53. So if anyone can advice me on what to look into as cooking with something portable inside, plz do. Ty

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Marizol Cruz, for a non-electric emergency stove that is most safe to use indoors, I suggest a portable butane gas stove like the one linked at the end of this comment. It is a single gas burner that is nice and stable.
      You will need to open a window a couple of inches while you are using the stove. There is a life-saving reason for opening the window. Gas stoves should not be used in small rooms with poor circulation because they do create carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas. Any flame heat source also uses oxygen when it burns. Oxygen is what we breathe to stay alive.
      By opening a window that is in the same area as the stove during use, it will allow you to cook for yourself and the little 2-year-old safely. It will allow fresh oxygen to enter and the bad gases to exit.
      Following are links to a portable butane gas stove and the butane fuel canisters it uses, on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

    Feels a little shill-video-esque, not to mention the dubbed brand name at the start, and you failed to mention that the end of the sport fell off 🤣
    Looked like the pan didn’t sit at all well on the burner either. From the looks of it you couldn’t leave it unattended, say for boiling rice.
    Great overview though, thank you. Not enough coverage of kits like these.
