I love Billy Currington. He has some great music. "Good Directions", "People are Crazy" and "Must be Doing Something Right" are ones to check out
"We are the night" is my favorite by him!
I'm 38, my mother was addicted to pain pills until she passed away and my father is an alcoholic... I was following both of their footsteps in my teens and then I woke up one day when I was 20 and I was just done! So I flushed the pills and stopped drinking!! I don't have kids, but I broke the cycle with myself!
You said " our kids don't listen to us they imitate us" well said brother! You should put it on a shirt! I see this country in a bad shape because of this! Stay Strong! Hope you and your family are well!
People Are Crazy😊 SO GOOD❤
That's what you get when you listen to Country Music,,,,,life experiences and life lessons!
You are going to love Billy Currington.....People Are Crazy is a great song to cover....my favorite of his.
For a great night with Ali, start it off with Billy Currington’s ‘Must Be Doing Something Right.’ - wow, just wow!! Also She’s Got A Way With Me, Let Me Dowm Easy. And for the most perfect, truest picture of living the real country life - Good Directions! ♥️
Absolutely Beautiful
This is a great one.
My dad was a hardcore drug user, drinker and multiple packs of cigarettes a day, starting as an early teenager. When I was born he slowly turned his life around and was always my best friend. Before I was 5 he cut it down to cigarettes only and now he hasn’t drank or smoke or did drugs in over 30 years.
My dad never made it out of 5th grade but is lead superintend for a half billion dollar company and is such an inspiration to everyone around him. Despite no education he still makes well over 6 figures a year. He means the world to me and I’ve never had a better friend.
Man I remember when this song came out, it hit me kinda hard bc this was pretty close to my dad except his wasn’t alcohol it was about everything else after he got injured on the job site when I was younger. He was never the same after that and got hooked on pain meds and really turned into an a-hole for the rest of his life. What’s crazy is even though he was the way he was , he lead me from watching him to make myself a promise to never be like him and to do everything to be a good person to everyone until they give me a reason not to be . I can’t even take pain meds when I’m suppose to after an injury or surgery bc I’m scared I’ll get hooked
Maybe he did the best he could!!!
@@cindycarpenter6633 na , my mom did the best SHE could.
First time I have really listened since having children. Hits different now, in many ways. 💔❤️
This song is my father to the T. I never had a relationship with him because the addiction was too powerful. He recently passed away and this song will always bring me to tears
My grandfather served in WWI and came home an alcoholic which led to my dad and his brother being the only kids in a town of 1000 with divorced parents. This was unheard of in the 1930s, and it caused them to fight quite a bit of criticism. Like the son in the video, they both lived lives with a purpose and determination to not embarrass their kids. Both were the top graduate in their high school classes, naval officers in WWII, naval doctors during the Korean War and small town family physicians for the remainder of their lives. This song really hits home for me to try to be the best example for my 21 yr old son.
My dad died in 2002. What I remember best are times when we watched football together, cheesy sci-fi movies, built things in the garage, when he taught me how to use tools and how to maintain a car, and that one night when he was scared to death because my mom went on a business trip by herself and we went to Shakey's because he just needed to get away from the house for a while. Just love them and be there for them. That's how you show them best.
Love Billy!!! He’s got so many good songs and is so underrated as an artist!
I've been reflecting on my childhood over the last year, and this song hits differently since the last time I heard it.
Billy Currington is one of my favorites of country after 2000s he has many hits
This song hits home. My dad was always a drunk when I was young. But he became my best freind. God bless his soul. Sometimes I feel like I fall into that zone. Hearing this opens my eyes
It's a great song to remind us that people are watching and learning from you. It's a sad song in many ways, but I bet it will have New Meaning when again in 10 years when your kids are teenagers.
You are a great Dad that cares and it shows. Work can be crazy and finances do change but keep your family Safe and Happy.
Another good one by Billy is "People are Crazy"
Such a great song, so many people can relate to this kinda relationship with a parent
One of the things that always stuck with me about they video is that even though his dad had problems, he still attempted to try, even if he didn't make it through and was drunk. He still showed up.
I know a lot of people that don't even try.
“I love you this much” by jimmy Wayne has a similar story and is an excellent song. Very underrated
My favorite song by Jimmy Wayne is Stay Gone.
This guy can be my personal trainer any day. Love him he's got some good songs!! Good Directions is my favorite fun song of his!!
Another great story teller very great singer. This song hits home for me I grew up with drinkers but I wouldn't change anything. 😟
I love Billy Currington! This song brings tears to my eyes! It is seeing addiction through the eyes of a child. They imitate our actions...it is important to show them the right way!
Ricky Van Shelton Keep it between the lines is another good one!!
Absolutely love this song and the message!!!
Billy Currington 💜💜💜
This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. I remember every mistake I ever made raising my son. It's also one of my favorite songs ever.
What a beautiful song, teaches us to pay attention to what we are showing our children!!❤❤😢❤
As I've said before, as a dad to 3 daughters who are now 40, 38 & 30, I have asked them countless times to forgive me for my mistakes, for letting them down. They tell me I was always there for them & they love me unconditionally. Talk about a daughter's love for their daddy.
I love this reaction ❤❤❤
Good Directions and People Are Crazy !!!!
I need that shirt. Love it. This song and Trent Williamson’s “One Wing in the Fire” are great songs about kids watching their parents and wanting them to for lack of a better phrase do better. Have you done his song “My Last Name”? Such a great song.
I appreciate you so much. honesty.
I read somewhere that he wrote that tag line when he was still a kid.
Jimmy Wayne has some really great music too! I love his I love you this much!
Must Be Doin' Something Right is a good one. Glad you found good country..
Amazing reaction
Amazing song, bit so true!!!
It’s a good song 😉🎶✌🏽music is life !
I feel like Billy Currington is sooooo underrated!
Boy his blue eyes say it all❤Great song Sebs
I love this song! It kinda reminds of my dad.
My favorite Billy song is party for two!
This and Jimmy Wayne’s I Love You This Much gut me… They help my strive to be my best version of myself.
His voice is what made me listen to country music, “Let me Down Easy” and his song with Jesse James Decker “I Still Love You”.
My husbands dad was an alcoholic his whole life. This reminded my Husband of his dad. Unfortunately his dad passed away from cancer when he was 55. My father in law quit smoking, drinking and got saved. He only lived 2 months but he’s an Angel now and walking a straight line ❤😢
Glad u got to it. I figured you were extremely busy. Thanks!!
It's because you are a dad a parent and it's called growing up. I'm a mother of of a 51 year old man that I had at 17 and so proud of him
YES!! Cheesy and oh so powerful
People are Crazy is a great song to check out.
Billy has some outstanding songs, That's how country boys roll use to be my anthem, Good Directions, Must be doing something right, People are crazy, Why Why Why are just a few
This song is hard. As a child of addiction watching my father do all these things it makes me fight hard to make everyday so much better for my kids. I couldn't even have a beer with my son home until he was 8 because I didn't want him to think of me like I thought of my father
My favorite is People Are Crazy 😅 by the way you should listen to Sonia Isaac's singing Barbie bandaids. Really will bring a tear
His song, people are crazy is so good! And his song with shania twain...party for two. I think he was shania Twains personal trainer. Could be wrong. He also wrote songs
Must do 2 old ones: People are Crazy and Good Directions
I'm loving your comments on (Walk a Little Straighter Daddy)❤
Yes, country music can be very formulaic. There's a pretty rigid structure to follow. So, there's a danger of it being cheesey. But the amazing talent of some songwriters is their ability to work within that structure and still make such moving works of art.
This song reminds me what my son feels with his dad. 😔😥
😢❤
Another great song is Watching You by Rodney Atkins.
One really cute “dad” country song is “I’ve Been Watching You” by Rodney Atkins.
On a different topic, have you heard of Mat and Savanna Shaw? They are a father-daughter duo who also live in Utah, that started singing together near the beginning of covid. The daughter had joined a local youth choir and wanted to sing on social media as a way to connect with her friends, then asked her dad to join her. He had sung when he was young so he agreed, and something magical happened. Here is something they did earlier this year (first time I have seen them with back up singers): When You Believe ("The Prince of Egypt") | (Official Music Video) | Father Daughter Duet: th-cam.com/video/vNUWaADYUcU/w-d-xo.html
One of the Sexiest Songs in Country History!
Billy - Must Be Doing Something Right
this is why i am a single mother. the father is an alcoholic. just 1 child, a daughter. just mommy + me here. no father income, nothing. i don't want him apart in her life period. we're good here
You should listen to "Watchin You" by Rodney Adkins
I don’t know about cheesy. As a kid who’s parents divorced and had to drive my drunk dad home before I even had a license or go to the store to buy him cigarettes because he wouldn’t get off the couch. This song definitely definitely hits a nerve.
A couple more videos from the Shaws, early on from a couple of years ago: (2 yrs ago) You Raise Me Up - Mat and Savanna Shaw - Josh Groban Cover - Daddy Daughter Duet: th-cam.com/video/kG-vD-kkQ24/w-d-xo.html and (3 yrs ago) A Million Dreams - A Daddy Daughter Duet: th-cam.com/video/H_CxiftXJiQ/w-d-xo.html
GOOD DIRECTIONS! Please….story song! Do lyric video!
You'd like My Old Man by Zac Brown Band
I recommend John Michael Montgomery the little girl. It's so powerful
My father was far from perfect, But neither am I, I think many people fail to realize that difference is really close to the same.
Great song, but his People are Crazy is a little better. Both have a good message.
Listen to Joe Nichols ‘If Nobody Believed in You’. And Rodney Atkins, ‘Watching You’. And George Strait’s Love Without End Amen
I love Billy's music. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. You might want to check out Brantley Gilbert Just as I am.
This is based on his life.
This was me with my father
He wasn't at my graduation or my wedding
Dear sebs
Good morning
How are you and your beautiful family? I hope you're all doing well. Anyway, as I might have told you. I list both my mom and stepfather a couple years ago.
So with fathers day coming up anfld mothers day that just passed , I was wondering if you could react to 2 songs for me?
For my mom, there's a song by Mike manual called... ..phone in heaven
And for my papa
He didn't have to be by Brad paisley
If you could play those 2 songs it would be appreciated.
Thank you and love you.
Please do some more Elvis
You know I’ve heard you say several times that these country songs are cheesy, what makes them “cheesy”? You say you like them so I’m confused
This song made me quit drinking. When I had kids
It's about his alcoholic father he had in real life.
I wanted to look him up and i found out he adopted a little boy at I think it was a boy the internet is weird
This man really said tbis song/message was cheezy? Gtfoh
Me too, bruh... i wish i could hit rewind and walk straighter for my daughters. 😢
