The reliability-specific problems included engine wiring problems, flat and damaged tires and brake system faults. Overall, the JLTV will require more maintenance than the Humvee. Also, none of the variants are operationally effective when using a towing trailer. “The trailer has less mobility than the JLTV, which slowed the operational tempo of the test units. The Army has made no decision to procure the JLTV companion trailer,” according to the report. Report authors recommended that the JLTV program develop a plan to address the report recommendations and further items mentioned in a classified annex. Its an over priced, complex, difficult to maintain and support POS. Why? ever drive in Afghanistan or Iraq? roads are narrow, usually along slippery water/mud filled canals or hill sides or between buildings with very tight corners. this thing will roll over, and get stuck in real world mud with no other vehicle other than a Brad, M1 or M88 to pull it out. we need simple, fast and able to handle true rough country with steep grades, soft soil in farmlands, deep mud and under combat situations. Loose all the fancy electronics, thats the first shit to break. driving in hard soil with dirty water proves nothing. the POS H2s do that just the same.
