If you started reading quality books then the next goal should be you should increase number of books to read
Always there should be progress in life ❤️❤️❤️

Totally agree with the above comment…first I prioritized quality. Then I learned the techniques to increase quantity. I’ve read over 100+ books a year for the last few years. And they’ve been some of the most life changing and challenging books. I’ve also become a better writer and leader.

Wow. I just discovered your channel as TH-cam recommendation. I like everything you posted. I subscribed immediately. As for reading, I am a speed reader, so usually I read a book per day. It takes about 60 mins for average book. That's at least 300 books per year (some days I have to skip). Thanks for the wonderful videos. 👏👏👏

Jim, thank you for sharing. This is my first time doing it. I am reading in my second language (English). I am reading very dense in information book "Life in the United Kingdom", which I will have an exam on. My result 25/2=12.5. As it is my first attempt I decided also to count each word to get my starting point of reading speed 141wpm (as total text had 282 words). I am aware I am well below the average. That's why one of my goals this year is to start reading regularly.

26/2=13 today (230/2=115wpm) - the lines must have been much shorter or the words longer; or I terribly miscounted. Oh well, probably the next day will show :)

I am a slow reader. If I really need to pass time I can grab a book and read one chapter.
I remember in school we did these reading tests for a grade. It'll you read at an average speed for your age bracket you got an A, if you were slower you got a B etc... well in 9th grade you were supposed to read at the adult speed of 250 to 300 words per minute. I could only read at 85. And that silent reading. I failed every time. I hated it.
I hated reading all my life.
I started reading about 5 years ago. I read what I want, and at my own pace. And that's the key for me.
    I'm up to 4 to 5 books a year.
I've read more books in the last 5 years than I did in the previous 25 years.
    I'm very proud of myself.

One of the thing that GOD's messengers did(as Abraham..Moises..Jesus...Jacob..Mohammad...etc)..was remind to the people pilares they forgot about them...
tank you sooo much Jim kwik for keeping reminding us.

  • @danclarkeuk

Totally agree that reading is important. But regarding your numbers, it's worth pointing out that just because you've timed yourself at X-hundred words per minute - doesn't mean you'll be consistently keeping that up for 45 minutes a day, or any time you read. You can't just work out how many minutes you need to read a day to complete a book a week like that.

but the problem for me personally, is that i usually forget what i have just read, if i read too fast, what i am gonna do personally is to read fast, and after i finished reading, i will create a document and i will write what i remember from words i just read, the plan isn't that it will be exactly as the same words as in the book but if my understanding is similar to what i read or completely different and i forgot

@@Blackibe you read 41 lines, not words in two minutes, so, unless one line, has one word, I guess you read 20.5 lines / minute
so about 180-240 words per minute
average speed is about 200 wpm, so reading 20.5 wpm would mean you are ten times slower, and I do not think you are :)
