Sugar influence + diabetes in COVID - - COVID-19 vaccines update 59

  • How does sugar play a role in COVID-19? It is an important molecule used in affecting the three-dimensional shape and electric charge of the “big” molecular heavyweights precipitating the COVID-19 disease: the spike protein, the ACE2 receptor binding the spike protein, and even the antibodies produced as a consequence of either the natural infection or vaccination. And we bring up how diabetes might play a role in all of this.

    This is one of the many things that have galled me about this pandemic. Health authorities vilify low-carb diets, recommend cutting saturated fat and eating more carbs, which, if all of what you say about glycosylation is true, made the pandemic worse than it had to be.

      It's possible that taking paracetamol during a Covid infection might make the symptoms much more severe by significantly increasing glutathione depletion.

There is a video coursing of ex government members which said in 1990 that the pharma lobby is stronger as the government itself. People believed that its normal to take drugs for everything. @@kornelia8627 I can believe that. I've done a lot of traveling here and in every city I've visited, there's a pharmacy on every second corner. I always assumed it was due to the aging population here, but your explanation also makes sense. On the other hand, Germany is filled with bike and pedestrian paths. You can't turn around without seeing hiking signs, and you can easily walk or bike from one town to another. Most of the people I encounter when outdoors are older, so maybe the younger generation is more sedentary. They're certainly fatter.

    Having been eating keto the last 4 plus years, and having had Covid 3 times, I can say anecdotally the only time I had symptoms that lasted more than twelve hours was when I had a "cheat day" when I had Covid. As soon as I got back into ketosis my symptoms cleared.

    The sugar molecules involved are placed deliberately for various biological systems reasons which are not altered by consumed sugar such as the sugar in a doughnut. If significantly low levels of sugars & carbs are consumed the body is forced to make them for its basic requirements & when that happens the process is inefficient & possibly damaging.
    On average for the global population the natural tendancy is to obtain about 50% of calories as carbs.
    A study found that, all things being equal, life expectancy is reduced by straying from the 50% carb intake in either direction.
    One of the important considerations might be to ensure that the carbs consumed are not excessively refined & are as near to natural as possible.

    Just say NO

  • @psilon2270
    @psilon2270 ปีที่แล้ว

    So from what I gather, it's free blood glucose that poses an increased risk. Not merely the ingestion of carbohydrates, but actually the effective spike in blood glucose, both in terms of intensity and duration. If that's true, it would make essentially no difference for non-diabetics which diet you're doing, carnivore, keto, or something else, as none of these diets will meaningfully alter blood glucose curves in healthy individuals.
    It would also seem, following the same logic, that type 2 diabetics would be more susceptible to permanent covid-19 damage than type 1 diabetics by virtue of the hyperglycemia-per-definition in type 2, whereas type 1 presents a possibility of adequate self-regulation.
    Also, when will researchers learn to differentiate between type 1 and type 2 diabetes? For the love of everything holy, if not specified it renders the research findings difficult to interpret at best, and meaningless at worst in certain situations.

    • @Merogenomics
      @Merogenomics  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct that it is the effective spike in blood glucose, both in terms of intensity and duration, that poses an increased risk for non-diabetics. However, it is important to note that different diets can affect blood glucose levels differently in healthy individuals. For example, a high-carbohydrate meal can cause a larger spike in blood glucose compared to a low-carbohydrate or ketogenic meal.
      Regarding your point about type 2 diabetics being more susceptible to permanent COVID-19 damage, there is some evidence to suggest that this may be the case. Studies have shown that people with type 2 diabetes have a higher risk of severe COVID-19 and worse outcomes compared to people without diabetes or with type 1 diabetes. This may be due to the chronic hyperglycemia and inflammation associated with type 2 diabetes.
      Regarding the differentiation between type 1 and type 2 diabetes in research, it is important to note that studies do often differentiate between the two types. However, it is also important to remember that some studies may not differentiate between the two types, which can make it difficult to interpret the findings. In general, researchers should be careful to clearly specify the type of diabetes being studied and to report separate results for type 1 and type 2 diabetes when appropriate.

    Please be careful to stop recording in the wind without some kind of sock or filter on your mic. I’m not blessed with an iQ like yours but I wouldn’t do this repeatedly, your amazing but driving me NUTS !!!!!!

      Still haven't figured out smart solution to this although planning to rig up something different once back home so hopefully it will help. I thought this video was good though :D

      @@Merogenomics not sure on the name but it's a fluffy thing that fits over the mic, it filters the wind out but I always think your videos sound fine.

    We could have learned this and much more 2 years ago if DARPA would have been kind enough to publicly release a WHITEPAPER 📑 along with their biø∑eapon 🦠. 🤷‍♀️
