  • Aboriginal leader Jay Walton would like to see the both the Australian flag and date of Australia Day changed as they fail to represent indigenous people.
“Every day the Union Jack is on our flag," he told Sky News Australia host Erin Markson.
“Indigenous people are not represented and don’t feel connected to our flag which creates three separate divisions within one nation.
“Instead of harmony over a flag that should be celebrated because everybody is included.
Mr Walton’s come amid growing controversy over the need to celebrate Australia Day with supermarket giants Woolworths and Aldi opting not to sell Australia Day merch this year.

With the free lawyer paid land title applications amounting to four thousand in the courts, High Court Challenges and the best little rort - The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business Grant Scheme which amounted to 4.4 billion last financial year: the amount is over 50 billion dollars. They're doing it hard, don't you know?

The Australian constitution should be colour-blind. Every Australian citizen must be treated equally, and on October 14 Australians voted overwhelmingly not to give the Government the power to make laws that treat different groups differently because of their race.

Don’t those people who have discovered they have a percentage of Aboriginal heritage realise that they would never even be in existence if it was not for colonisation and making Australia great.
Are they ashamed of their European, Asian etc ancestors who helped make them who they are today? It
was inevitable that Australia would have been colonised at some stage. So the question also arises what other country would they have preferred. A democratic one or a totalitarian one?

Now he goes on television denouncing any European ancestry and claiming that I, because I had to call the Specialised Operations Group police to take them out of a certain violent death from their mother Kathleen, that I robbed him of his culture. Bullshit. They would be dead if I didn't intervene with heaps of police involved in the extraction.
But he is a Board Member on the Human Rights and Anti -Discrimination Board, A NSW Commissioner for Communities and Justice and NSW TAFE, incliding a not for profit business earning around 1.4 million dollars annually. His qualifications- two TAFE courses and Tony Robbin's online courses. Yet, he still gets up there before Australia Day and demands rent to be paid to his people. HIS PEOPLE! Sounds like something Kunte Kinte from.the series "Roots" would come up with! He means one eighth of his heritage. And how would that play put when you have people self-identifying like Bruce Pascoe. It's a bloody farce and any money coming out of taxpayers should be based on proven milestones of repeated achievements in health, education, decreased criminality - not simply because they were too stupid for tens of thousands of years to simply do nothing. None of the indigenous tribes of Australia formed those four Crux stars into a roman cross. Anyway the Southern Cross stars were also visible to the indigenous people in New Zealand, Sth America & Africa. Until about 400AD they were actually viewable in the northern hemisphere too.

You Know what, as a proud Australian, if a change in date for Australia Day and a more integrated design of our flag ,brings Our people closer as we have been trying to do for decades, I'm all for it. This can only be a good thing. As long as we get a long weekend booze up to celebrate our great diverse nation who gives a crap. To loose the union jack of the flag , when we have already strived to create our Own identity by separating ourselves from the Monarchy anyway, we'll that aligns, and can only be a good thing too. ! But I tell you what, it "needs" to stop there . Corporate business has absolutely no place in taking away our right of choice in how we celebrate Our country- it is not their place, nor have they been democratically been elected to do so -Our Government should grow some cohoneys by making it law ,that they cannot Dictate Our Rights to Purchace. Australians, We know who we are, our culture, our pieceful way of life, our acceptance of a multicultural population , our Aboriginal Brothers and Sisters origins and we embrace this. We are Not defined by a Flag or a Date. We are defined by these values ,and that makes us , AUSTRALIAN 🇦🇺

Our Flag wears the stars that blaze at night,
In our Southern skies of blue,
And a little old flag in the corner,
That's part of our heritage too.
It's for the English, the Scots and the Irish,
Who were sent to the ends of the earth,
The rogues and schemers, the doers and dreamers,
Who gave modern Australia its birth.
And you, who are shouting to change it,
    You don't seem to understand,
It's the flag of our laws and our language,
Not the flag of a faraway land.
Though there are plenty of people who'll tell you,
How when Europe was plunged into night,
That little old flag in the corner,
Was their symbol of freedom and light.
It doesn't mean we owe allegiance,
    To a forgotten imperial dream,
We've the stars to show where we're going,
And the old flag to show where we've been.
It's only an old piece of bunting,
It's only an old piece of rag,
But there are thousands who've died for its honour,
And shed of their blood for OUR FLAG.
