Thx man, just made your mod... easy to understand and do. Only had some problems when both cables got loose from the old switch (bad quality). Will be very usefull to have this mod!
I can't really see a reason NOT to have this feature PERMANETELY activated! So instead of installing a switch I simply connected the two wires together, shielded the connection, and secured it with some silicone epoxy inside the transmitter. It works perfect and anytime I "need" that extra servo throw it's already there! Nice video and information though.
Yeppers you can do that but I wanted the option to choose as my wife flys once in a while. She is not as good as me and flys much slower. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Also, I lost comms with the bird when it was about 20-30 feet away. After looking at a few videos I realized the antenna on the little board was never installed! I soldered a 3 cm piece of telephone hookup wire (very thin) and now it is controllable until it flies out of site!
cyan aura : Other guys have had the same problem with heli leaning to left. Most figure its because of the rotation of the main blades. Mine leans a little bit also but it does not bother me while flying so I have not tried to correct it. I know tail spur gears will strip easy. The back tail guide is not much longer than the tail blade. Some guys added a longer piece of plastic to rear tail guide to make tail blade higher so it does not scape the ground on take off.
So glad you found the problem. I have had a few quality control problems with some of my purchased items from over there. Now get out and fly that bird...
Thanks for the reply,...tip,this really works. used a plastic cap off a Testers 3503 glue tube, cut open end off about 1/4 "..sand down to 1/8 "...super glue to bottom of aluminum cover on top of the flybar ,absolutely stop flybar strikes to copter ! Any toothpaste cap or what ever cap you can find that's the right size to fit just inside the bottom of aluminum cover to make it work.... is worth the effor, great results !
Oh, I almost forgot (sorry to be so blabby). When I got my V912 the transmitter came with a piece of packing material to protect the sticks. It's a donut shaped piece of foam and I cut a notch to put it around the tail boom just aft of the main body and taped it with duct tape. No more flybar strikes! I also used another bit of plastic to lengthen the rear strake to protect the tail rotor better.
Never mind. I figured it out. The left button appears to do nothing as the instructions say. The right button increases the travel of the servos controlling the main blade. I assume that increases the maneuverability. But you have to hold it down.
I just got a Lama V915. The instructions, which are not easy to understand, state the top switch on the left has no function. The switch on the right is the accelerator function. But with the transmitter on both switches produce a beep. So, how do I figure out which is which?
I have found when mine has done that it seems to be the receiver board in the heli. Make sure you try everything like battery's in the radio, and all sticks are back to neutral positions and if you have a v911 try binding it to the radio. I found that even with the battery hooked up in the heli and switch off you can blow up the receiver board when working on it or handing it with the canopy off. Make sure you disconnect the battery in the heli right after flying. If I am working on the heli I also touch a good grounding source to reduce any static charge that may blow up the receiver board. Make sure you don't wear a sweater, jacket or coat that has static. These helis can be touchy when it come to that. Let us know how you make out. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Mark Hughes There are no set length on the so called metal push rods. 1.Make shore all your trim settings on the Transmitter are set to the middle or (0) setting. 2.You need to pull off the servo adjustable end off the swash balls on the swash plate. 3.Then you have to turn on the heli and then turn on the radio to bind it. The servos should be in neutral position. 4.Turn everything off. 5.Level the swash by hand and turn the servo ends to snap on the swash ball ends. Make sure everything stays level if not pull back off and readjust. There are some videos on youtube on how to do this. I owned 3 of these helis and I could always adjust with trim on what I need that's why I never did a video on this procedure. I do know some guys are saying the can't so they level the swash. Let us know how you make out... Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Luckily, the replacement parts are really cheap. The spare gears (main and tail) are only a buck fifty at thinkrc.com. They charge shipping but the standard rate gets me parts in 2-3 days (I hate being grounded). The hardest concept is understanding how the swashplate actually stabilizes the craft. I don't see how the elevator servo acts any different than the aileron servo to guide the helicopter. My guess is the swashplate acts as a 'stable table' and the heli orients itself around it???
Mark Hughes I could get into the good and bad of leveling the swash but that would take up too much space. Here is a video on how to level the swash on the v912... th-cam.com/video/_XvaiTlDP0Q/w-d-xo.html
Hi there Terry, Thanks a lot for this video! Would you mind if I mentioned you in one of my videos with a link to this video of yours? In my video I will be talking about the V912 and V913 and their radios. I did the full servo mod by watching your video and would like to mention that, as I don't have a video of me doing the mod....
cyan aura: As far as heli trying to fly backwards. Can you trim the radio itself with more forward on the forward and backwards stick? If not you may have to make adjustments to swash or forward/reverse servo. Let me know how you make out.
Hi Terry, I got the V912 as my first 4 ch Heli. I like it alot but I'm very much a noobie at RC flying. I've been having problems with the tail rotor mechanism. The large nylon spur gear seems very easy to strip the teeth and I had to replace the tail motor when it seized up. It's flying good now but I have trouble keeping a stable hover. When I take-off the bird constantly leans to the left and it wants to fly backwards. I tried the swashplate alignment and it seems correct, any ideas? Thanks
Why bother to install a switch?? I just connected, the wires of the turbobutton together, and now my Low mode is High mode, and the High mode is the 100% servo throw turbo mode.
Rene P: I still wanted the option of on and off plus the original operation of this button as I was not the best pilot when I bought this heli. Anything I get from this point forward I will just connect the wires to each other as I am much more experienced pilot... Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Hey Terry, Could you please kindly send me a link of the toggle switch (where I can buy it)? I cannot find one on the internet. Preferably banggood, DX, Hobbyking etc. no local sites please, as I live in Holland. Thanks in advance! Nice video :"D
I got mine at Radio shack. I don't know if you have any radio shacks over there. I just bought one last night. You can use any small switch or a small one made for a car if you don't have a radio shack near you. Radio Shack Part number 275-0324 switch. Its around 3.50 us here. Let me know if you cant fine one I will look around the net for a substitute for you.Fly Hard BrothaTBT
Terry L Thanks for the quick response! We unfortunately don't have a Radio Shack store here, and I cannot find any RC based toggle switches, but I found this, can this be used for the MOD?It may be a bit hard to read, Because it's in dutch, but just look at the picture. thanks in advance. www.conrad.nl/ce/nl/product/701151/Tuimelschakelaar-250-VAC-3-A-1x-uitaan-SCI-TA101F1-vergrendelend-1-stuks?ref=searchDetail
Maurits Veermen: Yea I belive it will work. I can't read the specs on the switch but it look almost the same as I used. Your switch will work as long as it has on & off and is not what's called a momentary ( that would be when you switch it and when you let go it switches back) make sure its on when you flip it on it stays that way until you flip it off. If the switch does that it will work. Video mod: @watch?v=Al3OzxF5s_cLet me know how you make out...Fly Hard Brotha..TBT

Cured my transmitter problem...took apart & found broken wires on the LH control....simply poor soldering on this movable switch !

OK thanks I will try that
any other alternatives to the toggle switch radio shack lists this switch as sold out thanks
You can use any small switch. Check with auto parts store.

What if I skip the switch and attach the wires together?Edit...Now I see someone else already thought of this. :)
Yes I have thought about the same thing. I do like the option of turning it on and off. You can attach wires , it just will be turned on all the time
