Love your multiple emphasis on equipment still going strong and not worth it to upgrade to more expensive gears.
We just started using the Xvive U4 packs for wireless monitors. They're not desperately expensive and work pretty well. They're basically a rechargeable wireless headphone app. I like them.
Very nice tour and tech :) Nice to see smaller churches, too.
Love a good toolchest organized with tech gear!
Organized drawers just have a way of warming the heart...
For the IEM-extensions i would personally recommend using Behringer PM1 passive beltpacks with a long 1/4" TRS to XLR cables or a short TRS to XLR and just a long XLR cable. A XLR cable is a lot more robust than those small 1/8" headphone extensions. Plus it gives you volume control right on your person.
Interesting idea. Might have to test one out. So far the proco headphone extension cables are pretty robust though.
Our wired IEM's are mixer to Rane HC6 then out to the band via Whirlwind MQ cables to the P1's. The P1's work great.
We have a bunch of those hosa cables and some of those procos. The ProCos have lasted longer for sure, but we have still had a few fail. We're also using that same interface for tracks and it's been working great.
I have all the equipment for that RTA setup, but Iâd love a little help with how to set that up.
I downloaded Open Sound Meter, and for the most part figured out the settings on there. The main question is, how do you rout the outputs to the Mac so that only the reference mic is being used for the SPL?
Hope one day you guys can come to Taiwan . There are so many small churches want improve
Easiest thing I found to run tracks is the loop community âtrack rigâ. Bought one 2 months ago for my church. Use it with a base model iPad like the one youâre using. Has been rock solid. And since itâs also a usb hub, we plug a usb network adapter into it to get the iPad onto the wired network to run lyrics. We use multitracks âplaybackâ app. The track rig recognizes the iPad automatically which is nice. I will admit I was disappointed with the build quality for what it costs, but itâs racked so it shouldnât be much of an issue. Just connect the iPad to the track rig with a 16 foot usb cable and youâre good to go.
I considered that interface before I bought the Tascam one. Honestly wish I had just gone with the Track Rig now though.
@@collabworship it really is the easiest way Iâve found, and Iâve don the interface thing, used an x32 rack for a while, but the track rig is dead simple. 8 xlr outs, usb hub and no controller apps. I think it is expensive for what it is, and build quality is lacking, but itâs pretty much a set it and forget it setup.
Good to know. Thanks!
Could you do a video on the cues?
I am trying this as well just would be curious on your setup.
Multitracks has some videos on their website that show you exactly how to do it. It's relatively simple.
I wouldnât suggest the Tascam audio interface. I had the same one for running tracks. But, it broke we sent it off to be fixed it just didnât work well. We ended up getting a Focusrite 1820. You will have to adjust the routining but, itâs a much better interface for running tracks. Great video. Always love learning from other churches.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Do you have a breakdown of those black boards you are using to hide the P16s? I'd like to make some and yours look pretty sturdy!
It's pretty simple. Just some boards with small corner braces holding them together in an L shape.

We use a Behringer UMC1820 interface for tracks, it's class compliant so it works well with IOS, it has 10 individual outputs on the back! It hasn't failed us yet and is very budget friendly!
Sweet! Thanks for the recommendation!
I second this. Been using it for a few years now. Tried running tracks via Dante from a MacBook but this way has been more stable.
Guess I'm gonna have to get my hands on one.
Awesome vid! the tascam issue is most likely the adapter you are using. Adapters tend to go out a bunch. i have the same interface and have never had any issues. Its a pretty solid unit
Thanks! What adapter are you using?
@@collabworship â Also, Quick question? How is the stage noise playing with an acoustic kit? what are you guys doing in your space to kind of help keep that down?
We use Maple sticks, which help a little. It's mostly just training our drummers to have some control on the cymbals. The drums themselves are never too loud. Cymbals can be very easily.
We also pipe in the cymbal mics to their in-ears and set the level to where they have a good reference for what is "too much" in the room. If the cymbals are uncomfortable in the room, they will also be in their ears. That has helped a lot.
@@collabworship Always a good "trick" when drummers are playing with IEMs. Just gradually bump the drum level in their ears a bit, not enough that it's going to hurt anyone or do hearing damage, but enough that they "feel" like they are playing loud and back off their own playing volume a touch.
Hello, love your audio and mixing lesson, I'm trying to apply it to my small church. I wanna ask a few things if you guys don't mind ð.
First, I already try to adjust my gain for the microphone and the musical instrument to 0 level. I make the master L/R at the mixer to 0 level too. We are using 2 15inch speakers and set to 0 level too. But it's too loud for my church room. What should I do? Should I lower the volume level on the mixer or on the speakers? If I lower the volume on the speakers instead of the mixer, Does that take away from the 'characteristic' sound of the speakers? Thanks! ð
Excellent! Are you having any upcoming summits/conferences.
Thanks! We will be at a small conference in Tulsa Oklahoma this month, but nothing else after that. Would be really cool to have our own one day!
We installed the same Tascam unit last Sunday. Initially had an issue with the iPad recognizing it and resolved it my plugging the Tascam into a different port on the hub. We did have no sound or very low levels on Bus 1 and 2 and solved it by moving everything up to Busses 3 to 6 (we're only using 4). DOH - I just found the Line OUT 1-2 know all the way off. I'm an idiot
You have to set the gain of buses 1 & 2 with knobs on the front of the unit I believe.
Just curious what Curtains you use behind your screen, Love the tour
Thanks! Here is the curtain we use: www.rosebrand.com/product1472/20-oz-Crescent-Velour-IFR.aspx?tid=2&info=20%2boz.%2bCrescent
6:57 can you please link the lens case that you use to put the Shure capsules in for storage? Thanks!
You can find everything (including the case) here! collaborateworship.com/gear/
Would like more info on set up of the rta mic and how it all works
Might have to make a video about it.
I use prime app with that same Tascam audio interface and It runs flawlessly
You and a couple of others have convinced me not to give up on it, so I'll test another adapter and go from there.
We're having an issue with Bus 1 and 2 (no level or low level). Did you have issues with the iPad volume output?
I believe you have to set the gain of Bus 1 & 2 with the gain knob on the front of the interface that says (line out 1-2) it's the only two that you have to do that for. They're both controlled by that single knob. @@wb9tpg1
I have had a lot of problems with the playback app with different audio devices but with the prime app no issues yet âĶ
Interesting... It may be because Playback is a more sophisticated app. More complicated = more potential bugs...
@@collabworship may be the case
Cool âĪ tour video sir
Q which camera lens your using.
Thanks! We are using the Panasonic Lumix 12-35 f2.8
@@collabworship ok thanks ð sir
You mentioned busted headphone jacks on the p16. What is the easiest way to fix this? How did you fix it?
Took them to a guitar repair shop and they soldered new jacks onto that board for me.
Hi I'm just wondering what kind of sticks does your drummer use on the accustic kit. I use lightweight rods many thanks Nigel from Scotland
Maple sticks
Thank you and does that help with noise
A bit. Donât expect miracles from them though. They are just a little lighter than hickory which helps a bit.
Is that the AUDIO4 or the PlayAUDIO12 sitting on the grdound under the iPad area?
AUDIO4 (older non usb-c version)
What size tripod is that and do you guys have a link to it ?

you run rta software, pp7, waves, multitrack etc all on the same mac? That hasnt crashes or had issues?
Nope, runs flawlessly every week surprisingly. 2019 iMac with a 3.7GHz i5 (6-core) upgraded to 40GB of RAM.
@@collabworship Sweet. I need to figure out how to just multitrack on my windows 11 from Wing
I bet it can handle it. Do you have a preferred DAW already? Although, you know you can just multitrack record straight to the WING right?
@@collabworship I have reaper and FL studio. Not 100% fluent in either. And no I didnât know that. Is it easier just saving to board? I know I definitely need to be able to transfer it to my computer at some point
It's super easy. It just records to the SD card slots that came on the mixer. Just pop out an SD card and transfer the files to your computer.
what are the dimensions of your room please? I run a small church and curious to how your space compares to ours.
Love all your stuff though! A massive blessing to me here in the UK
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll have to get those measurements and come back with that info. Can't remember off the top of my head.
Our auditorium is 55ft x 30ft @harrygoodwin7170
@@collabworship amazing thank you!
@@collabworship Looking at your space this suggestion isn't going to work, but I'll post it here for others to read and consider when designing their worship spaces... I'm at a church that, like you, has a fairly rectangular (long/narrow-ish) space. When I started there, we had the same orientation as you, stage at one 'end' but that meant we only had room for 13 chairs in each row, and about 10 rows deep. This long room configuration felt very disconnected for the congregation and from the stage. We only had a basic sound system and struggled to get even coverage (volume-wise) front to back. We eventually decided to turn the auditorium sideways and now have a shallow room (only 5-6 rows of chairs) but the width allowed us to wrap the rows around the stage in a big arc. We did buy an extra pair of speakers to achieve a wider spread, but everyone (congregation and stage team) feels far more connected to each other. The preachers can see the back row very easily and during worship, you can look sideways and see your church family worshiping and engaging with the service. It has made a huge difference to the feeling of our gatherings. (We also had the added benefit that in the old layout, the main entry to the room was to the side, and now since the renovation it's at the back of the room and less of a distraction as people enter and leave the room).
Thank you. Great video again.
Why does everybody is having own capsules? Is it a hygienic thing? Then save some money and just get a grille for every singer and do sE V7 for everybody.
e835 is the worst sounding capsule from Sennheiser, e935 is so much better. But in my opinion sE V7 sounds better than e935.
How does that look with the cables for singers when they go on/off stage? Butts to the audience while putting the cables down? ;-) This strange moment, when everyone is doing weird stuff with their cables and inears, for me is definitely a reason for wireless inears for the singer row. ;-)
Cheers
Thanks!
Hygiene thing for sure. Getting grills for everyone is a good point and probably what I will do for our newer vocalists and those that don't sing super often. For now, we have 3 of us who are regular vocalists and I just got all of us on V7s and just got dedicated capsules for us. Will probably get 1 dedicated V7 for less frequent singers and get each their own grill.
Unhooking the cables can def be a little awkward for vocalists since our P16s are on the ground. We just make sure that everyone knows not to turn their backside to the congregation when they reach down, and to bend at the knee (crouch) instead of the hip lol.
@@collabworship we got wireless mics in our church for the frontrow just because of cables and that moment when they all grab them and got the cables tangled.
Next is wireless for AGit. ;-)
