    Also have a 1970 nova project. I've seen all of your nova videos, they are very helpful and you offer good advice. Thank you. Keep the videos coming.

      Hi, I've been pretty busy for the last few months but I am back to working on the car. Got some more videos in the works so stay tuned.

    Thanks for video! This is exactly my sender from my 1984 Cutlass and buying the new fuel sender for these cars doesn't work due to their being too sensitive and therefore gauge floats all over the place. There is no way around this until I saw your video. Thanks!!!!!

    Short, sweet and informative. No need to buy Chinese junk after watching this.
    What did you ever end up doing about the sock? I know an old hack is to just remove it but if you've found a way to replace it, I'm all ears.

      I just removed it and use an in-line filter now

      @meridian208 after I asked, I found out the sock and metal retainer are one piece that slides off the tube.

    Good vid. It sucks that i cant get a 75 nova sender from rockauto anymore but i have a spare tank and sender in backup.

    My gauge is stuck on full in my 76 Nova. Is this the same on that year?

      I'm not 100% certain but I imagine it's similar. You probably either have a contact issue like I did or the wire attached to your fuel tank is not connected well. There is just a pin thing that it pushes onto and sometimes gets poor contact. You might also verify that the wire is not damaged or cut and that everything is grounded good, check fuses, etc...

      @@meridian208 I sanded the ground and checked the wires. They seem to be good.

      @@meridian208 I'm guessing it's the same problem you had

      yeah it could be. You'll have to tear it apart and see if anything is messed up in there.

    My gauge stays pegged out “full” all the time. Even with the battery totally disconnected. What is my problem?

    • @meridian208

      The wire that connects to the top of sending unit has a poor connection

    If i give it 12 volt to this unit it will burn?

    • @meridian208
      @meridian208  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question. I'm not really sure. My car has a 12 volt system but I noticed that the voltage going to the wire which connects to this sending unit was pretty low. My test light would barely come on with it. If you put 12 volts back the other way it might affect the gauge but again, I'm not really sure on this.
