The couple across the Crick seemed to be impressed with y’alls technique trying to net your beautiful rainbow! Y’all having fun and sharing it with the world is Awesome. Tnx
A beautiful landscape and the good thing of the variety of species. But most remarkable of all is the unbeatable beauty of the browns of that river: they are as gorgeous as you can get because of the big quantity of red spots in perfect balance with the black ones. Really, really gorgeous browns.
Great series guys. Really enjoyed the info on how you dissect the different streams of the river. I actually started to notice that this year trying different parts of the stream to find out where the fish or holding out. Awesome job!
Another great one boys. With some gorgeous fish and scenery. Interesting looking rainbows with the spots on them going all the way down and on to their belly, kind of unusual. I've mentioned before, when on crystal clear water try wearing camo tops and hats, not an end all beat all but it does help cover approach movement. Man, looks like a great trip y'all had.
Yeah we realized the trout out west look slightly different than the eastern ones we are used to catching! But we try to wear darker colors when we fish clear water but we honestly had never been to the river so we had no idea what we were getting into. Thanks for watching!
Great trip.....sure enjoy your videos. I fished those same streams two years ago.....when I didn’t have a headache and shortness of breath from the altitude. Those fish on the Eagle and Gore are tuff to catch. I had no doubt you fellows would figure it out. Stay safe.....
Dope trip again. Shame to miss the brookie, but made up for it with some gorgeous browns. They are definitely different out there. I feel like the gold is more noticable, but they don't typically get that magenta as much for the adipose and body. Nevertheless still gorgeous. Well done man. Loved the scenery and wish I had a house like that on the water :) Tight lines!
Yeah they're definitely a lot more yellow out west. I'm not sure if it is prettier necessarily because I love the look of the eastern browns. But they are definitely gorgeous. Thanks for watching man!!
@@hardmanfishing I don't want to come off as a jerk, but they are prettier on the east coast. I hope I don't offend the West Coast people lol. Either way, nice catching trout!
Next time you come back, the best way to avoid, or at least minimize the effects of altitude sickness is to stay hydrated. Drink tons of water and avoid alcohol. Also, if time allows, spending a day or two at lower elevations before going above 10,000 feet can help a lot.
Yeah I tried to plan the trip out so that we slowly raised in elevation but I had time restraints with my job (only had so much time off work) so it was almost unavoidable. We drank a bunch of water and had some Tylenol so it never got too bad. Thanks for watching!
Hardman Fishing Adventures Yeah I love the videos, i started watching them a couple of months ago and they got me really wanting to go and fly fish. You guys got me started! Now fly fishing for trout is my favorite.
That Muley got me fired up!!! Can’t wait for hunting season..... regardless.... that’s a great looking creek y’all were on. Water levels nice 👍 (by the way I finally found a brown in a small creek on the level of your WV trout!) Tight lines guys
Did you get to Gore Creek through Vail at all? Gore Creek and the Eagle are pretty awesome. Glad you enjoyed. Have to be pretty stealthy up there. Great video.
Also wondering what you had most luck with; streamers, nymph or dry? I’ve caught more fish with nymph but bigger fish on an elk hair caddis or yellow sally. And did you catch any cutthroats? Landed a 20” cutt in June. Sorry for all the Qs. Thanks again for the videos.
Umm we honestly caught them on all three. I'd say we got the most reaction out of the streamer but probably caught more fish on the dry. The nymph and streamer caught about the same number of fish. And yes we did! They cutthroat videos will start coming out next week! I have 4 videos of us fishing for greenback cutthroat and Colorado river cutthroat.
Yessir I do and I would love to get a muley tag on day. But I've never bird hunted much outside of turkeys and pheasant (once). Thanks for watching the video!
Hardman Fishing Adventures you’re living the dream! I missed the spring trout fishing, can’t wait till next year. It will be my first year taking it serious.
Aye man as a native of gypsum you should fish lower eagle river when you get the chance, there are sum hogs, wish you the best of luck and hope you love this state, check out sum of my catches on insta @itching4fishin

Looks like you did well, beautiful fish , wonderful scenery! Thanks for sharing your experience on the stream.

That was a sweet buck, Love the videos. I’m jealous wish I was there
Thanks! That buck was the biggest we saw on the trip, made me want to go get a mule deer tag. Thanks for watching!

The hairs looking cool! Grow the full mullet my man. That first fish looked like a hybrid; half brook half brown.
I've thought about it!! I'm almost there at this point hahaha thanks for watching!
That would be a tiger trout, definitely not. They have wiggley worm looking lines.
That Muley got me fired up!!! Can’t wait for hunting season..... regardless.... that’s a great looking creek y’all were on. Water levels nice 👍 (by the way I finally found a brown in a small creek on the level of your WV trout!) Tight lines guys
Yeah tell me about it!! I need to get a muley tag next year. And that's awesome man! Congrats on the trout and thanks for watching the videos!
You should make a drive to Northern California and fish Lake Almanor and butt lake, they both hold some massive brown trout
I definitely plan on making it out to California to fish one day! Thanks for watching!
Mind if I ask what kind of net that is? Looking for a smaller one to take into the backcountry streams.
Catch can nets native series net!

Yes we did! Awesome little creek.

Thanks man! Will do!
Nice footage! What tent is that btw?
I have honestly no clue.... It wasn't my personal tent my buddy brought his
Bro that Muley at the beginning was a stud! Do u hunt? Itd be awesome to see some waterfowl hunting on here! My fav
Yessir I do and I would love to get a muley tag on day. But I've never bird hunted much outside of turkeys and pheasant (once). Thanks for watching the video!
Nicely done boys🙂👍....what was the temperatures you were fishing in? (water/air etc. ??🤔)
The air temps were 65 or so, water temps upper 50's.
Awesome.
Thank you!
dude that was sweet bro !
Thank you so much!
What wt would you recommend for a fly rod? I mostly want to target trout.
A good all around wt is a 5 wt. It can handle bigger fish (usually) but is also nice for smaller fish.
@@hardmanfishing would a 6wt be just to much?
@@Hey_its_Koda No I wouldn't think so. Especially if you're catching trout that are slightly larger
@@hardmanfishing ok awesome thanks man.
Gotta go 5x with these hard hit streams.
We were using 5x and 6x. We never went larger, I think the main eagle just wasn't fishing well or we were in the wrong section
Another great video man!👊🎣💦
Thanks man! I'll check out yours in a bit!
Are you still in Colorado?! Come out to Glenwood Springs and float the Colorado River with us
Unfortunately I am not! Otherwise I would take you up on the offer
@@hardmanfishing Let me know the next time you're out. Cheers
New subscriber, are you from WV or do you travel here for fishing?
I am from WV but we travel around and fish some other areas! Thanks for the sub!
