FASCINATING! It's very interesting to see how a HUGE hit song gets it's origin. It was one of my favorites and I played it to death. Like Camille said, I thought it was Fatboy Slim singing it! I'd never heard of him at that time and didn't know it was a stage name for a DJ. I did recognize the Fat Albert theme when it was popular but had no clue about the rest of the sampling. I thought it was all performed in a studio. It has a happy song! It was a roll your car windows down and drive fast song. I was at an age where I didn't watch MTV anymore. I was in my early 30's and life had taken over so I never saw the video. When I did years later I thought it was a joke! I couldn't even sit there and watch the whole thing. I was embarrassed for the horrible dancers! LOL. So with me, they accomplished everything they set out to do - deception. It worked. And it was a great song! Still makes me smile. Thanks Norman!
