Hey man thanks for making this video it is very informative. May I just check, if the DMC already controls the tap, can I then change FS3 on the stomp to control another stomp in stomp box mode?
Man i am such a nuuuubb at this, a video of how u programed this would be A M A Z I N G :) ive been sitting here trying to do this for 2 hours lol. Hx stomp is great tho!!
Thanks for the video! Is this completely programmable? Like, when not in midi mode, could I get it to bypass different effects and to toggle settings of effects at the same time? Also, would I be able to make it bank when I hold the foot switch down? Thanks!
Hey man, how do you set this up though? I also have the DMC micro pro but all I can get mine to do is bank between presets. I'm just guessing at this point lol.
is the second mode you're using a Device mode? how do you make it start with the same preset that you were in Utility mode? cause when i switch on to the Device mode it jumps to the first preset
Looking to get one of these down the road for my HX Stomp. Considering the micro can be a tap tempo as well as a tuner. Would I be able to be in stompbox mode with FS 1-3 on the screen assigned to different pedals (by turning off the default tap/tuner on FS3) and have the tap tempo access, tuner access, and preset scrolling access all on the micro? Want to finish the board with the new Ditto Looper + to free up a looper block and finish my personal little jam board :)
Some presets I want to use in snapshot mode. Others are better in stomp mode ... or some combination of both. So this gives me the ability to easily toggle between those two modes. Of course, being in snapshot mode limits the ability to use tap tempo, so the Micro gives me a solution for that. And two-button stomps can be difficult to navigate live, so a one-touch option is better for that as well. Finally, having a one-button tuner bypass is great if I don't have a separate tuner on the board. Best of all worlds.
What size board is that? It’s exactly what I need! Is that a CS-7 power supply? I need something that I can mount mine under and this would be perfect!
How did you setup your Micro’s preset mode to follow the letter & numbers of the HX Stomp? E.g. A08A, A08B, A08C!, A09A, A09B A09C, etc My pedal is not following that order. Thanks
How do you do to assign the tuner and the switch between stombox and snapchat? Please, I appreciate your help. Could you make a video configuring your micro?
Very good video and thank you. I bought this for my hx stomp because of this video. I know for most midi is simple but it totally confuses me. The unit should come in a few days, I will try to update the FW and rewatch your video a few times. Subscribing and hope you can do another video on how exactly you set this up for midi impaired like me.
Does the DMC micro come in regular preset toggle mode by default when it ships? Cause I would like to get this, and that's all I would need it for. To toggle between presets.
Hi, there. I just got my DMC.micro, and I’m trying to make the right switch do exactly what you’ve got the left switch doing in the video (toggle between stomp and snapshot modes). In the utility mode setup, here’s how I’ve got all the right switch settings set: U r t: TOGG U r n: 71 U r L: 0 U r h: 3 U r C: AbC If I have the HX Stomp already in stomp mode, pressing the right switch on the DMC.micro any number of times has no effect. If I have the HX Stomp in any other mode, and I press the right switch on the micro twice, the second press puts the Stomp in stomp mode. I feel like I must be missing some basic setup thing that’s preventing it from transmitting values higher than 0 or something. Got any thoughts? Thanks so much in advance.
Pablo Colon Yes. That’s the Micro’s most natural function. UTIL mode is where you’re able to customize other MIDI commands, but you can toggle out of that and scroll presets. I demonstrate that toward the end of this video.
Can you scroll trough the presets without them activated . Like let’s say i need a patch that’s in 20b and i’m in preset 10 how do i get to that without activating the one in between?
Just curious, do you have the micro reading the Device as the HX Stomp? I’m having trouble getting my micro’s firmware to update, I can’t get it to switch between Stomp/snapshot mode
Yeah, you'll have to update it first. The newest FW is required to get this to work right. Somebody earlier on this video was having trouble until he updated... then it worked fine.
Thanks for the video, the DMC micro seems to be what I need so I'll be getting it shortly and settup thanks to your videos!!
Would you mind doing a video on how to set it up? Step by step? Thanks!

Thanks for the help man. It's working with the new update.
Good stuff! Just what I was looking for.

I believe so, yes. Switching to a 3-stomp stompbox mode is possible.
crxshdxmmy thanks so much!!

Thank u so much for the quick brief! Are the switches on it soft ones?

Thanks for the video. Could i have the HX stomp in Snapshot mode and use the DMC micro to turn on/off individual effects at the same time?
I mean, I'm sure you can, but I'll have to look into specifically how you would.
is the second mode you're using a Device mode? how do you make it start with the same preset that you were in Utility mode? cause when i switch on to the Device mode it jumps to the first preset
AFAIK, that's an unavoidable little wrinkle.
Essentially, the Micro only talks to the HX; it doesn't talk back. Unfortunate drawback of one-sided communication.
@@crxshdxmmy so everytime you power it on you need to toggle it to the preset that you're gonna use?
@@vitgit Yeah. I just keep my most-used presets in the first slots to make it easy.

Could you go a little more in depth in how you use it in a live setting and what do you have access to with this setup? Thanks for the great video.

It’s a Pedaltrain Metro 16 with a CS-6 under it. Getting the HX powered is a bit complicated, but works fine.
crxshdxmmy how ARE you powering it? Are you using the voltage doubler cable, reverse polarity, and Line6 cable?
Awesome information! Is this function available on the other DMC pedals? Thanks!
Jason Clements I’m not sure. Probably. Check the DA website to be sure.
what is the brand of the midi connector? is that a midi thru connection? I only noticed 1 connection with the hx stomp's left side

how to update DMC micro Gen3 1.04a please, and how to use the editor with it.

what midi cable is that?
Best-Tronics RA Midi Cable. Disaster Area carries them.
Hi! Can the midi controller use to set parameter control?
I'm not sure I understand the question. But if you're wanting to toggle different values on a single CC#, then yes -- you can.
whats better for the hx stomp ? midi baby3 or the dmcmicro ? thx!

Jonathan McNicol did you find out? Just got my HX Stomp, planning to link my DMC4 tomorrow :)

Any ideas on using this with Disaster's GHost stuff to control a Zoom MS-70CDR?
Brandon Li Sorry, no. I’ve not had either of those pedals.
how you do that?
It's in the DMC Micro Manual that's available on the Disaster Area site.
Thats great vids sir? Can i use that in eventide h9 thank you
Yeah, I believe so.
