    My number one rec for runners knee/shin splints is training on dirt as much as possible (instead of concrete/roads). And not running more than 2-3 times a week.

    Love your videos! A tip for your injuries, do some rubber band exercises before you run, and/or on daily basis to warm up and strengthen the smaller muscles! It helped me a lot when I had problems with my knees!🫶🏼

    Hey Holly! I had awful runners knee last year. Medical acupuncture in the TFL muscle is game changing. Electro acupuncture is amazing. Literally 2 sessions and never felt it again since xx

      Agree with this!! Had the same treatment the two weeks leading into my half marathon and had no pain on race day and since rehabbing after the race none since :)

    Probably a good idea getting new trainers, I hope they help you! Running as much as you do, trainers are probably only going to last you about 3 months. Also, not to be a downer but runners knee usually takes 6-8 weeks to recover. Rest. It seriously pays off in the long run to stop, let your body heal, and hopefully be done with the injury instead of dealing with it for many months. Also, consider acupuncture :). Sending you healing thoughts from a fellow runner 💛

    It's clear you always try to be a good example Holly, like when you said you're having a 7 day break from running so you don't push your injury. But just wanted to say, that amount of time is not normally enough to heal / give an injury a chance to repair. 7 days is nothing really. So it might instead show to others as if 7 days is loads of time and that running on a still injured knee is what you should be doing. Please take care of yourself ❤️❤️

    • @hollyb_fitness
      @hollyb_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thank you so much! So my current recovery is based off what my physio has said, there isn't one set blueprint to follow with an injury, everyone is different! If I run and feel even slightly injured after 7 days I will 100% take more time off but this is my first injury so I'm not sure how my body is going to recover at the moment. But this is really kind and I appriate the comment very much, I never want anyone to feel like they should run when injuryed!x

    • @springinpages6325
      @springinpages6325 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hollyb_fitness definitely thank you for being so sweet. Definitely didn't meant it in a preachy way, more of a don't push yourself too much & give yourself more time if needed 🙏🏼 ❤️ I know it can be very hard for highly motivated people like you especially when it's something you enjoy. Hoping you recover asap and can't wait for your new chapter xxx

    For the knee/hip/splint pain… change your shoes!! That fixed my pain. Also make sure you’re focused on form when you run more than time, etc. make sure you’re landing mid foot and under yourself, not ahead of yourself. Hope you feel better soon!

    I usually change my running shoes every six months, because by that time they are so outworn and not serving their purpose anymore which is supporting my feet.

    Have a hot bath before stretching! It makes a huge difference having warm muscles when you go into it.

    I’m sorry you’re in pain 🫶 it might be adding speed work. Bumping the speed volume too quickly always gives me injuries
