I have an Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports 2018 DCT but always loved the way these little bikes look like. Between the two I think the Van Van looks more cool.

As you may have seen I have the 2017 DCT Africa Twin. The AT is a great touring bike on road or easy trail and I love it but the little bikes are WAY more fun off road. Get the TW 200 or 225 or the VanVan 200, the 125 in either is a lovely little bike but will leave you wanting a little bit more get up and go. I think the TW is better off road but harder to find in the UK. Thank you for watching.

I just purchased an original owner, pristine, 250 miles, 2019 Van Van 200. They're were only here in US for 3 years and super hard to come by. I really enjoy it and it takes me back to the early 80s and myself as a 14 yr old hooligan going everywhere on a yard sale bought DT 250.
I agree.... My little VV 200 is #6 mc in the garage. Parked next to a couple HDs, big Super Tenere ADV, 1350cc B King and KTM 300 dirtbike.

Big bikes can be great but the little bikes are just fun. I’ve owned both Van Vans and TW, here in the UK it’s the opposite because we have lots of VanVans. but few TWs and most of them are 125cc. Keep enjoying and being 14 all over again.

I've owned my 2017 Van Van 200 since May 2019. I always bring it as a second bike when I am base camping and riding. It is one of 5 bikes in my garage. I recently upgraded the shock and front suspension.

The VanVan 200 is still available where I am for eight months a year: Thailand. Therefore I am going to buy a new one. The 200 VanVan has a fair bit more get up and go than the 125.

@@irishflyer6377 The bikes are very appealing, aren't they? That you actually own both, so as to allow you to do a comparison that is more real-world than a mere run through of the specs-list would be helps. But that you take that opportunity & do actually *do* that review, without the bs, carefully and at a nice pace, is the thing.

I’ve had a about 5 van van 125 and a couple of TW125s , I always preferred the van vans , I’ve treated myself to a 2002 Japanese market van van 200 and am in the process of getting it road registered for the Uk , the power increase should make it the perfect bike for me , the 125 were always a bit lacking on power .

    • @irishflyer6377

I’ve always liked both they are fun bikes. I think The Van Van might be a little nicer on the road but the TW a little better off tarmac, but just my view. The 200 will not be massively different to the 125 but will give that little bit extra needed. Enjoy the new 200.

Hi, I’m very happy with it, I’ve been out on green lanes the last few weekends, some of which are getting very slippy now. This is much lower seat and power than my DRZ400 and therefore a lot easier to stay on when the trails are slippy, even with the Rekluse clutch in the DRZ I like this little bike more. I may even sell my DRZ. Sorry you missed it but my gain I guess, if another one comes along I think they are well worth the 2500 to 3k they make, really sweet little engine and I like having the kick start as well. Thanks for watching.

Iv been riding years I ride big old school zeds , xjr13 yams and
Harleys , i bought a 125 van van , and absolutely love it stylish and so much fun on the back lanes the only thing i feel is that it needs a heavier duty chain and sprockets as il soon update , why dont they make a 350 version that would be a game changer .

I also have bigger bikes and you’re right about the fun a 350 would be. The TW225 was the closest I could find. Maybe the air cooled 350cc bikes from Royal Enfield might feel this way but I suspect they are a lot heavier.

I really do wish that Yamaha would make TW250., I would get one instead of KLX250. Not that anythings wrong with the KLX250 but I am a short person so I prefer a bike that I can flat foot on the ground.

@@martinrea8548 Yes, they are a lovely little bike for town or minor roads, fun and easy to ride. Given the small CCs (even more so for the 125 version) they are best upto about 50 MPH so not ideal for dual carriageway or motorway. @irishflyer6377  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@faizanmohiuddin8292 hi again, lots of people will have published numbers but by my roughy measurement the seat is 800mm (31.5 “) and the ground clearance is 200mm (8”) however the limiting factor off road is more the suspension, it will not take high speed bumps. Having said that because it’s light weight and low height it is really easy to ride off road and will go most places as long as you take it easy and don’t try to keep up with the enduro boys. For getting out exploring the woods and dirt roads it’s great and when off road power isn’t needed so being 125 isn’t a big issue. You may find is a bit underpowered on the road but this also depends on where you are and the kind of speeds traffic is normally doing.

'Gentle off road, green lanes and forest tracks'. You have zero idea of what those bikes are capable of if you believe they are that limited. A TW200 will go anywhere any dirt bike or enduro will go and a probably a few places they can't, all be it a little slower. They are very sure footed. They are mules.

    • @irishflyer6377
      @irishflyer6377  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

You’re right, I now use this instead of my DRZ when I’m expecting difficult and muddy conditions, it’s light wight and low gear is great for getting out the other side of though places. The one limit is the suspension travel where you fast over hard ground with roots and rocks. They a go anywhere but not at race speeds. It also depend on where in the world you ride, these are great for exploring where there is no Tarmac.
