Cool video. FYI draught is pronounced "draft"...not "drot". It's a nautical term that refers to how far below the waterline the bottom of a ship is. In the case of a starship, I assume it's a top to bottom measurement, or the distance from the midpoint in either direction along the Y axis.
Draught is also used, I believe draft is more a USN term while in the UK draught is used and sometimes called draft despite the spelling. But also called draught
@@starshipreviews No. Its nothing to do with the US Navy. That word is far older than the US Navy. In the UK, the f sound is also pronounced. Geoff and Jeff are the same name and pronounced the same way. Spelling difference doesn't change the pronunciation. The only time I've heard it pronounced incorrectly, dropping the F sound, has been in relation to a "drawn" beverage, like a beer pumped from a keg through a beer engine. To drink a draught (drot), so to speak. But this is just slang for drunks and olde timey writers. I mean, you've heard of draft (or draught) beer, yes? Same deal. Draught, or draft, in terms of ships, refers to the amount of water a ship "draws" from the bottom of the keel to the waterline.
They took the design from 2010 . ( sequal to 2001 a space odyssey) a Russian spaceship . Helen mirron was the captain. .I think the omega design was a homage.
I never watched Babylon 5 but i think their Earth ships designs are very interesting because instead of rectangular nightmares they are smooth rectangular nightmares Babylon Fryve
Oh my, Babylon 5 absolutely loads to say about this amazing series. Extremely well written seasons 1 to 4, the first season mainly backstory but building up to the dark threat and the fifth and final season was not even done until they brought it back "original ending was the fourth" B5 EA sips are massive, the Hyperion is longer than the Enterprise E and then the Omega class Destroyer that's larger than the Hyperion class cruiser would dwarf them both "and we are talking about Borg size comparisons here" and that's just the Earth Alliance ships. B5 Starfuries are the best SiFi fightercraft :) Please do the Omega at some point!
Babylon 5 has been my favourite Sci-Fi series since I first watched it last century!
It’s one of the best shows out there.
Love to see content about Babylon 5 ship, please keep up the good work :D
I have some more b5 ships on the list to be covered at some point. Love the universe
