Hospital bag :
For mothers
1 Keep all your blood reports, scan reports in a file and find out before from the hospital about insurance formalities if ur claiming refunds
2.4 nighties( preferable feeding ones) ,
3.4 pairs of inners (if required to stay in the hospital, better to keep as people at the home may not know ur things where u keep sometimes).
4.keep in a pouch ( toothbrush, small paste, small powder, comb, or any cream u use)
5.maxi pads( u get in a any medical shop) usually normally sanitary pads wnt work initially due to heavy bleeding.
6.sweater,scarf,socks
7.bedsheets to cover and for the bed
8.a flask for hot water or coffee
9.1 pair of dress to wear while coming home
10. One pair of slippers or flip flop.
11.brethable breast pads protects from breast leaking
12.Hand sanitizer
For babies :
1.2 - 3 pairs of clothes (new born size, prewashed with dettol and sun-dried)
2.2 pairs of caps, mittens, booties
3.old cotton clothes for putting on the bed( saree or bedsheets washed with dettol)
4.a set of baby products kit ( soap, shampoo, baby lotion ( if winter) preferably use himalaya baby or mama earth or chicco they are herbal and safe) {please avoid Johnson baby}
5.10 pieces diaper packet( Nb-0 ( mamy poko) (xs (huggies), NB( pampers).
6.diaper rash cream
7.2 pairs of soft cotton towels (prewashed)
8.baby fleece blankets /fanel
9.baby wet wipes ( never use water to clean the baby initially because of very delicate skin)
10.baby washcloths ( small soft hankies)
11.Dry sheet or bed protector.
12.diaper bag or any big bag ( to keep all babies stuff at one place).
13.baby bed(not required for hospital but u need to after the baby is home)
Please note: always buy baby's clothes with front open with buttons or threads for initial use ( until umbrical cord dries and falls) if you use clothes to be put by neck it will touch the area and causes infection.
Please always tell everyone to use hand sanitizer or wash hands before touching the baby, don't allow everyone to kiss the baby except family of any skin infection or any rashes will transform, don't allow any one with strong perfume to touch the baby it will cause allergy..
14.Rompers or onezes are better after the umbrical cord falls
15.Baby bibs
In some traditions they wont buy baby dresses, but instead of rushing in last monent you can buy and keep and wash in dettol and sun dry them.
This is given by doctor for my delivery, however you can add or remove any items you like, this might be helpful for new mothers first delivery or anyone who is staying far from family, wishing all expectant mothers safe and healthy delivery.
