REAL unapologetic dnb in its prime, the days when everyone was natural, it was about the music, nothing more, nothing less, it was a passion. These legends will live on forever, Respect to Dylan and Facs

Glad to see you're uploading again! Sucks that you got striked - a bunch of other channels got taken down too. Thanks for the uploads :)

Dylan & facs .. ed rush & optical , both duo's who's records stood out strongly among the rest ! Proper moody bangers everytime back in the good old days . Longstoke is still a beast too . I miss how dnb used to sound and flow

This track was essentially the end of my drum and bass racing days. I remember think this just couldn’t be beaten and there was no point trying. I’d heard it all. I moved over seas shortly after to country with little to no drum and bass scene. This marks the pinnacle of drum and bass for me.

I can understand that! Leading up to this, DJ Trace completely blew the doors off of dnb with the techstep sound through the legendary banger Mutant Jazz (DJ Trace Remix). The No U-Turn catalogue from ‘95-‘97 was essential, culminating in the phenomenal Torque LP.
The following year, perhaps the quintessential techstep record that is Wormhole dropped; while Ed Rush & Optical had some noteworthy releases soon after, their works from 2000 and on lacked the same magic and potency.
Of course, between ‘96 to ‘00 were the finest years for the techstep side of dnb, with guys like Dylan & Facs here putting out some facemelting masterpieces.
For me, the techstep era itself was the pinnacle of drum & bass (although I do love the Intelligent era of ‘94 through ‘96). The groove was heavy, the beats were brutal, the sound was intense...nothing quite like it has ever been done in music since.

@@darklightprojector2688 Yes. The tech step era. Futuristic and mechanical without being trance. It’s like the sound track to a rave held on LV-426. Grimy and dark. Kind of like a squat 😏

Probably one of the grittiest drum & bass tunes that doesn't have a snare all over the place.

9 / 10 times I confused Plankton with Bad Company's Refuge, even though they don't sound that similar...
