Hi, Justin. Nice action on the light tackle. Very interesting to see your flathead biting on the artificial lures. We have similar flathead here in South Africa called Bartail Flathead/Gurnard( Platycephalus indicus). Also very nice eating fish here. I haven't seen the ZMan or Pro-Cure Super Gel Scent products here in South Africa yet where I'm living? Great content, tight lines and hope you keep catching them 😀.
Hey @williamcox9524, hope all's well. It definitely appears that we share a few similar species. You should be able to track down the ZMan / Pro-Cure distributors for your region on Google. I believe both are available there. New Zealand have a popular gurnard species that is caught on soft plastics, so hopefully yours also responds to artificial presentations. Hey @johnkeynes8873, thanks for touching base. I love fishing the surf for a stack of different species including flathead. For flathead it's all about picking the key areas and I often increase the jighead weight based on how big the surf is and how strong the current, so that I can effectively keep the plastic near the bottom and stay in touch with it. Hey @rumcoke9123, the 3" MinnowZ was available well before the 4" DieZel MinnowZ, so I have been fishing it for longer and it has a special place in a lot of my fishing memories. In saying that I have a lot of friends that smash the fish on the 4" DieZel MinnowZ and I recently fished it with good success, landing some quality flathead. All the best with the fishing. Found chrome bearing best fitted with 1/0 mustard 30 pound Dacron fitted beat circle double fitted like river to sea frogs hooks are in that lure single one can fold hook to either left or right flank of lure the lure use was a fat boy swim in red profile bead shape in 4 ins cut one bead off lure got more fish on 2 session brawler baits un real kicker was found more finger mark as well. Good 550mm.
