Tyler has the tenderest heart - and John the Baptist hair!
More importantly, this is so rich with deep wisdom, insight, and wonderful humility.

I want to say something, but I feel speechless. This is exactly what I needed to hear, God knows our hearts, I believe He uses Tyler to reach people, frequently. Thank You Jesus, for your love, and thank you Tyler for being willing to be the vessel He is working through. God Bless You!

I have Tyler's books, have watched multiple interviews or podcasts and am so encouraged and fed by his incredible, humble spirit. For such a young man, he is filled with so much wisdom and truly takes the posture of Christ.

Portland is rough. I left because I didn't want the darkness around my kids. I hope God blesses your boys.

Another great interview conducted by Carey. Tyler has spiritual wisdom beyond his young age. This video will light your passion for prayer and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
    • "It is my belief that the soul that I’m bringing before people is what must be prepared [not the sermon]. Prayer is the essential rhythm that I need for everything else to exist, and everything else has to come second." - Tyler Staton
    • "I have disciplined windows for sermon writing that I hold my sermon writing within, and then I go with what I’ve got. I would say secretly a lot people [pastors] think they don’t have time [to pray] because they would never go with what they’ve got. 'The sermon’s got to be polished, but I can pray when I have time.' That is the hidden atheism that lives beneath the church." - Tyler Staton

That was an incredible interview! I was deeply moved to tears at the end. I prayed along with you and Tyler and felt the Spirit encouraging me through your conversation. That bit at the end about Mary and Martha and allowing God to do more with our incompetency than with our competency was so challenging for me. Thank you for creating space for that!

So so so good on so many levels! As a millennial church leader, I deeply resonate with soo many things he talked about. We also transitioned churches during the pandemic and did almost the same process in preparing our small church for our move. (Relational, not transactional.) You can tell Tyler walks closely with the Lord and listens to His Spirit. So inspired by my generation and what God has in store for us!!!

I love LOVE this!!! I’m dying to know what kind of young man and student he was! To have had such a profound encounter at 13 is so incredible. As a mom of young men, a mind like this is so powerful but a challenge to manage during the growing years.

20:45 you can't pastor by leaving, you can't punch someone in the face and then hug them. Great words of advice 👏

Hi Carey there’s another transition of leaders happening at Embassy City Church in Irving Texas with Tim Ross and Tim Rivers. Tim Ross is Mike Todd’s oversight and Pastor. May be he can be on your podcast too to talk about this and many other topics. He also started a podcast called The Basement. I listen to both of your podcast every week it will be good to see your collaboration in the future :)

    Mark 16
    New International Version
    Jesus Has Risen(A)
16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices(B) so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”(C)
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe(D) sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,(E) who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him,(F) just as he told you.’”(G)
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.[a]
[The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9-20.]
9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,(H) out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.(I)
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.(J) 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.(K)
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.(L) 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.(M) 17 And these signs(N) will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;(O) they will speak in new tongues;(P) 18 they will pick up snakes(Q) with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on(R) sick people, and they will get well.”
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven(S) and he sat at the right hand of God.(T) 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs(U) that accompanied it
