Hello Mr Giant, Romanian here! Great reaction as always! I wanted to answer your question about the similarities between Russian and Ukrainian people to the Moldovan people. Long story short, Romanians/Moldovans are not ethnically close to the slavs (we are closer to Italians), but we were influenced a lot by their culture, we share the Orthodox faith and we've never had real issues integrating with other people, so it wasn't that much of a culture shock when the Ukrainians/Russians were resettled. The real issue was always the political one, and the USSR succeeded in creating the rift between Bessarabia and Romania

In fact, when the Russians drove out the Turkish nomads, they populated Moldova with Romanians and Russians and annexed the Slavic parts of the country in order to gain better control in Romania. In addition, the Romanians carried out an ethical cleansing of the Slavs along the Black Sea coast and colonized with Romanians. In reality, only the Romanians replaced the population, while the Russians settled the newly populated areas with Romanians and Russians. As if the Mexicans demanded independence in the parts where they immigrated, for example.

@@kosarkosar7683 Moldova was here long before the mongols that call themselves Russians now knew where the Viking capitol of Kiev Rus was. There are historical accounts, writings and it's name even comes from Dragoș Vodă's dog, Molda, also the name this Voivode gave to the river in honor of his dog. What you warring, conquering nations only knew is to steal, pluder, cheat, lie, burn and falsify historical facts to take more land from the peaceful ancient citizens. It's because of thoughts like that and your barbarian ways that Europe and the world, by extension cannot achieve peace. And, no matter how you justify wrongdoings, We will still remain the Defenders of civilized Europe from ALL the gates where barbarians try to break in. There's no sleeping on the other ear thinking that a long period of peace means permanent evolution of the human race as long as you are thought to break international rules, borders and peace treaties for land. And if it's land you want, even though you have half a Planet and are the biggest country in the World as landmass, We have enough dirt to lay upon you when you come to plunder. We'll even raise a cross, like Saint Stefan The Great 47 times after every won battle.

Hello, Mr. G.! We, the Romanian people of Valahia, Moldova and Transilvania, have always been between the hammer and the anvil regarding politics and had to think outside the box to stay independent or unite. Even in this day and age, when wars should be a thing of the past in Europe, We keep walking on egg shells regarding any political stance, for history bears lesson of all allies betraying the Romanians at the first change, so knowing this, the only real allies We have are ourselves, which includes Moldovans. As examples of outside the box thinking: 1. Mihai Viteazul (Michael The Brave) managed in 1600 to reunite the 3 Romanian regions for the first time since Decebal, 15 centuries before that, by defending Europe from Ottoman attacks, depleting his own gold coffers (plus help from The Pope and Venice bankers) to pay the armies, but was betrayed and assassinated by General Basta, a mercenary, for the European Empires feared not being able to influence and exploit a united nation of Romanians. 2. Moldova's boyars (which at that time included the Moldova region of Romania and today's Moldova Republic, it was before the Russian Empire AND USSR chopped it - yeah, they took that territory 2 times) elected Alexandru Ioan Cuza as its Prince and Valahia was also having elections and they chose the same person, tricking the Ottoman Empire with a fait accompli of an unified state, The United Principalities of Moldova and The Romanian Country (Wallachia in English translations, it doesn't mean Romania, it's what foreigners would call Latin speakers). I'd propose all Romanians to stage another election together with Moldova and if We all chose Maia Sandu as President, it's a win-win. We done it before. It's not like the Romanians over the Prut river (called Moldovans now because of the USSR influence) don't already have a Romanian Passport, Romanian citizenship, free University and gas from Romania's government already, and Moldovans were the ONLY people that literally gave their blood for the wounded Romanians during the 1989 bloody Revolution of Independence from the communism regime. On the other hand, since there are complications with Russian occupied/influenced territories in Moldova, what's important right now, from My perspective as a Romanian, is that Moldova gets into EU and it will be their choice if they want to reunite back into Greater Romania. It might not even matter, since there will be free passing at the borders and the 2 regions will be de facto reunited anyway without the hassle of a new government, revised Constitution and massive costly reforms and financial aid. EU is the modern solution for Moldova's cost of living, salaries, infrastructure, trade and strong investments. That's My 2 LEI. (Romanian and Moldovan currency is LEU = lion. LEI = lions)

He already won 1st Prize in Romania. A lot of Moldovan bands and singers have become famous here and have their own chair in Voice of Romania or Romania's Got Talent. We are the same people. There is also a difference between Germany reunification and Moldova Romania reunification, besides the the other factors presented. Romania, even though i'm a Romanian, it's incapable of sustaning the economical toll and the finicial unification at current economical situation. This would epoverish both states. For the inhabitants of Moldova, which earn much less then an average Romanian (which is low by EU standards) they will be way worse than us.

What the video doesn't tell you is that Romania forfeited all territorial aspirations over Moldova when we applied for EU and NATO membership to settle the territorial disputes so we can join.
We are not in the position to even open talks about reunification. All the steps for reunification must be done by Moldova and that is not possible because the opposition from Russians, Ukrainians and a large portion of people brainwashed by the Soviet apparatus.
As for the Hungarian minority in Romania, they enjoy cultural and administrative autonomy to the extent that it infringes upon the Romanian Constitution. What more do they want?
Best not to make an Apple of Discord out of Moldova and opt for regional stability.

  • @mimisor66

In fact, at one moment Putin did offer to agree to Moldova unifying with Romania, if Romania left NATO! Not going to happen! That was a trick to gain control over Romania. What you have to understand is that Moldova has no mineral resources. It is a mainly agrarian country and that's all. But Romania has resources and a strategic position. So Moscow keeps control over Moldova in order to coerce Romania. What shall Romania do? Support Moldova in its bid to join the EU. That solves unification issues and Moldova gets to keep its parliament. But it is also a long and hard road...

  • @valimatei9

For short , from its beginning in early pre medieval times Moldova was one land, one country one Principate . After a long history with many wars with turks tatars migratory tribes, polacs, Austria-Hungarian empire was able to divide Moldova in two along Prut river in the 18 hundreds XVIII and took over the eastern part Bucovina was called. A little later Russian empire captured esten austrian dominions so that part of Romania (Moldova) passed to tsarist russia and short after in 1940 USSR ! The entire moldova is a romanian land with a majority of population of romanian descent even with all the influx of alogens brought by austria and massive deportations of romanians to Siberia and replacement by russians by USSR in the ideea of changing demographics!!! Read about the deportations of hundreds of thousand of romanian families from russian occupied territories beginning at Prut river all the way to Crimea ! Odessa was mostly romanian before XVIII century and the country side all the way to Crimeea were land belonging to romanians with documents to prove it !

Hi Mr. Giant. Of course this is possible because we are the same nation. Russia ( Stalin ) had stole half from Moldova în 1812 and after ww2. 🎉 The eastern region of Romania names Moldova . You know because you made a vlog with Iași town. Soviets tried to mix the population in Republic of Moldova. They deported romanians from Republic of Moldova in Siberia and they brought Slavic population ( ukrainiens, tatars, găgăuzi ) on the Moldovian teritories. The same politic was in all soviets republics. That's why there are so many russians in Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Kazahstan, etc. 🎉 Cristian

Romania could have united with Moldova in 1991 if they offered military aid against Russia, but they preferred not to be interested and watched from the sidelines as thousands of Moldovans were killed, the president of Romania at that time, Ion Iliescu, was on good terms with Moscow and even closed the borders with Moldova, now they want union.
