So, if I look at committed memory, it is that memory which exists virtually, but when data needs to be loaded in the actual physical memory, that data needs to be in the committed memory address space and then can be passed onto the CPU for execution via the RAM ? Am i Right ?
I think Mark is missing the point, why the standard algorithm to scale the size of the page file with RAM size is not so bad. If you have lots of RAM, chances are that you need lots of RAM and that you have a big enough harddisk that the few Gigs of more page file will not hurt. Yes, the manual settings should be according to needs but they are extreme cases. Either your harddisk is almost full. At that point you probably need to deinstall some programs or get a bigger harddisk anyway. Or you need lots of RAM and your system will not be fun to use because of lots of paging.
Awesome video. One question, some hidden process not showing up in Task Manager neither in Process Explorer. But memory usage is high almost 96% and no process is showing which is causing memory usage. How do I find, VMMAP can help on this.
That might be a thread that is causing the high percentage usage. In my example from work a few years back in XP, we had Explorer running high. Went into the threads and saw a .dll running at 50%. I've never seen any hidden process' so it suggest it is in the treads. Check the treads out for a rouge DLL.

Watching this in 2019 to maybe understand wtf is Windows 10 Standby list and why are ppl trying to clean it to reduce game lags.
