Unless Adesanya goes for a KO in the first 2 rounds, he does not stand a chance imo. And I am saying this as a fan, I’ll be routing for him. He needs to take some risks and go for the finish. This guy is too durable and too good.
Yup, that power is just too much to stay away from for 25 min. Unless you finish Poatan, he will get you eventually and the risk of getting caught while being aggressive is also there.

When Joe says "he's the scariest striker on earth" you just brush it off because of how much he's said it but when he says it about Pereira, you realize he's telling the truth.
that angle made the stoppage look early but he was only one shot from being out cold as well. crazy
Idiots really have this narrative that it was stopped early. If Adesanya was still trying to move and get away, even whilst hurt, then you can make an argument that it was stopped early.
But he had his back against the cage, head completely down while Poatan was landing shot after shot with a minute and a half left of the round. It was a perfect TKO stoppage.
Like Alex himself said, Izzy was 2 seconds from being put to sleep by one of Poatan's knees. We've all seen what it looks like when someone with a unbreakable chin goes to sleep, they are never the same again.
Izzy should be grateful because there is no way he would have survived the remaining minutes of the round after being hurt like that, even if he was able to escape that barrage

Alex doesnt talk trash or disrepect hos opponent, but his staring is scary as hell ..
If izzy could add a little more power to his shots he'd beat Alex everytime, but he doesn't possess the power to put Alex down. Alex just has to wait for that left hook to land and it's downhill from there. Either izzy adds muscle mass, which will likely reduce his speed or he loses. Either way I think Alex has the edge.

I would love to see Izzy win this one. He's very confident in his skills and abilities despite even losing. Such fighters you can't beat them even mentally because they have something to rely on skills.

I have to disagree. Look at their first MMA fight. Izzy behaved completely different than compared to his other fights. I refer to their face offs, the press conference, even his walkout, he always looked unfocused as if there is something he cannot get out of his head (the KO potentially). The UFC staff even had to remind him that he can step into the octagon, it looked as if he was dreaming. In the fight itself, he had 3 very good rounds, but as soon as he realized that Poatans power is simply too much, he immediately tried to clinch as soon as he had an opportunity to do so. Now, there are only 5 months in between these fights, and I don't see any significant different outcome if they both intentionally keep the fight on the feet. Thus, I assume one potential path to a victory for Izzy, and that is Wrestling and Grappling. If he improved exponentially in this training camp, I see him outwrestle Poatan and winning by decision. If he mainly focused on his striking, footwork, conditioning, I don't see that he escapes a power shot by Poatan for a period of 25 minutes.
