That is so nice you have her rolling pins, that is something I would have loved having of my grandmother's. Thanks for taking the time to comment and you are right, it would be a wonderful "heirloom" to pass down.
I have a rolling pin collection which I thrifted from different sources. I love working with the old wood! Some I sand down to natural and oil, others I paint or decoupage, some have the natural patina. I give them as gifts as well.
Yes, definitely keep looking, I think it kind of goes in spurts. I find 2 or 3 and then don't see any for awhile. If you can't find any, let me know...I have a few to spare :-)
I dont know what it is, but it has the shape of a violin. But what ever it was, its beautiful as a rolling pin display. I enjoy crafting myself, and was very pleased to find your video. Now that I have found your channel I'll be back. This video was very plesent, thank you . 😊
I pick up rolling pins every time I go to the thrift store. I have decorated quite a few, but I always love these videos because I get new inspiration for the next batch I find. ❤
This was a great video, I have a ton of rolling pins that I COULD upcycle, but I just can't part with them!!!🤣 (and I started grabbing them to resell after I gave them makeovers!!!) Maybe I'll have to grab a few of the newer ones..they're not pretty yet (like my old ones..im DEFINITELY not parting with those). Well, off to start my day! Thanks for the inspiration 😁
Thanks Lara!! And I completely understand, I can't part with mine either and I really should be putting them on my website to sell....but how would I chose which one to sell. LOL. Thanks for commenting and sorry it took me so long to respond, I somehow turned off my notifications.
Just found your channel and I loved this video. Thank you for sharing. I will be watching more. And yes, I hit like and subscribed! 😊. Keep up the great work and content.
I love all of the rolling pins that you created today and the display turned out AWESOME! The wood part of the display reminds me of a violin back or some other type of string instrument. Looking forward to watching more of your videos for inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
I don't know what that piece of wood is, but it looks a bit like a violin doesn't it. My collection isn't really a collection. I just bought a bunch of them because I thought it would be fun to decorate rolling pins. I would like a more vintage look to mine, so I'd like the handles to be red or "granny" green. I thought it would be fun to decoupage one with a piece of old newspaper. It has early ads all over it. I do like the flowers you did though so maybe I'll order some transfers too. And I love the display! Now searching for something like that. Thank you for sharing!
That sounds super cute with the old newspaper. I just did a short using Sears Roebucks & Co catalog pages, that I bought on Etsy, on an old washboard...but you just gave me a good idea for another rolling pin!! :-) I'd love to hear if you find something similar to the display!! Thanks so much for your comments!
Really! That is so interesting...a vintage fountain. I'm sorry for taking so long to reply...I somehow turned off my notifications. Now to figure out how to turn them back on! Thank you for being a new subbie and commenting!
You did a beautiful job on those rolling pins! The white one with the lavender colored flowers is my favorite. Thanks for the ideas I have 2 that I tried painting before and I have some leftover floral transfers. Can’t wait to try it. I don’t have a collection, I sell my rolling pins and they are hard to find in my area now!
Thank you!! It seems like I find two or three at a time and then I don't see any for a bit...but I have 5 thrift stores that I like to go to, so between all of them I usually find some. However, I'm cheap and won't spend more then 2.99 unless it's really vintage :-). I hope they sell great with the transfers!!
Sorry, one more thing. I searched for the botanical paradise transfer and it doesn't look like what you used. Any chance you could check and see what it is? Thanks and have a great day. I love your channel.
Oh my gosh!! You are correct! Only the butterfly came from Botanical Paradise...I'm a ding dong!! It's the Mystic Hydrangea Decor Transfer. Thank you so much for pointing that out to me....I'll go add an update to my description. Email me your address at lifestyleofadiyer@gmail.com and I'll send you set as a thank you...I'm so appreciative!
I'm so sorry for taking so long to respond. I somehow turned off my notifications. I don't sell them, yet! Isn't that terrible...but I need to start because I have so many. I need to do some research and find out what others sell them for...I will keep you posted what I find out.
I agree, looks like the back of a violin. These turned out beautifully. I have sone rolling pins I need to dress up and these are great ideas.
The base looks like the backing of a a small cello and I love all of the rolling pins.
Thank you!! It could be a small cello because it is bigger than a violin....the piece of wood is so pretty!
I now want to decorate rolling pins and try the different techniques you used! So pretty!
Thank you so much!!
Love rolling pins!
Me too!! 😊
I have both my grandmother’s rolling pins and a couple more thrift finds. I think it would be a cool “heirloom” to pass down.
