I remember my dad cranking this up and laughing his ass off. I thank the Lord for this man's talent and capability of relaying it to us. Charlie Robinson is a true legend, may he Rest in Peace. God bless this man and his loved ones.
You are truly one of the reasons I am so in love with TX county! Thank you for over 20 yrs of memories. Lift a glass to all that are up there in the eternal best band ever, cheers Charlie! Peace is with you ❤
Charlie Robinson is a very underrated singer, and this is one of my favorite songs of his. It's sad knowing that Charlie passed away last year, and his passing was virtually ignored by the music world.
He is the REAL deal. The country loop track played on the FM radio stations stinks. Today you cannot be a country star unless your songs come from the algorithm music machine and sound identical to everyone else.
I have found Charlie thanks to Alexa.I am just sorry I didnt find him sooner.I just bought 3CD and cant wait to listen loud to his great tunes.Thank you Charlie and God Bless.I am very sorry to hear about you hanging up your microphone.
I used to live that sort of existence. Can't do it any more because I got too darn old. However, I love this sort of music. Robison is a VERY good one.
I cannot, simply CANNOTbelieve that it wasn't until today that I heard this song! I thought that it was a new one! Where the hell was I 9 years ago that I've never even heard of Charlie Robinson? I LOVE IT! Rockabilly is inderrated; but never by me!
Same here. I'm 15 now. We've seen him lots of times at the local music theater. Saw him last in 2015 and my dads former boss(owner of the place) had Charlie sign an autograph for me. Too bad he retired🤷♂️

Well, when I was young My momma read me nursery rhymes beside my bed And though they sounded mighty fine They made no sense to me And now that I am all grown up It seems my nights have changed as such So I went out and made me up A nursery rhyme for me It goes barlight, bar bright First bar that I see tonight Wish I may, wish I might Find someone to hold me tight Hey diddle diddle, a man with a fiddle And the girls sing along with the tunes Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights And you can shut down this saloon You know, I never understood How a big ole gal can raise no kids in a shoe And any old Jack goes jumping a candle Needs to find something better to do And a rub a dub dub, three men in a tub Sure sounds kinda funny to me So I made up a honky tonk nursery rhyme And it's the only one I'll sing It goes barlight, bar bright First bar that I see tonight Wish I may, wish I might Find someone to hold me tight Hey diddle diddle, a man with a fiddle And the girls sing along with the tunes Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights And you can shut down this saloon I said, "I never understood How a big ole gal could raise no kids in a shoe And any old Jack goes jumpin' a candle Needs to find something better to do" And a rub a dub dub, three men in a tub Sure sounds kinda funny to me So I made up a honky tonk nursery rhyme And it's the only one I'll sing It goes barlight, bar bright First bar that I see tonight Wish I may, wish I might Find someone to hold me tight Hey diddle diddle, a man with a fiddle And the girls sing along with the tunes Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights And you can shut down this saloon I said, "Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights And you can shut down this saloon" Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Charlie Robison

found out on a section of Yahoo that Adrian Pasdar was "at the helm" of this video. anyone know if that's Adrian as the shorter cowboy in a white hat, or if... maybe the info meant Pasdar directed this vid?? unsure, but that shorter cowboy looks an awful LOT like Pasdar... I know the 2 are friends & that it was in HIS wedding that Pasdar met Dixie Chicks lead who he married... so.. yeah

@@johnnyreamage Oh I know. I saw it first hand. It was very disappointing. To the point where I can't hear one of his songs and not remember. Its one thing if you inflict your addictions on yourself. Where it becomes problematic when you inflict that addiction on others.

RIP Charlie Godspeed
Back when country music was good.
This was the song that hooked me on Charlie. I heard it first on KHYI in Dallas in the late 90s, then got all his CDs. RIP Charlie.

He should have been more famous. He’s an awesome singer/songwriter.
R.I.P. Charlie, yet another star in Heaven.

Mine too!
This and "The Bottom" are probably my two favorites (among others). I can't believe that there's only 41 comments on this beautiful piece of music.
RIP he just passed

He definitely made the music scene much better than Nashville. God need such a talented man 😢

Underrate is an understatement!!!!!
Nice Rockabily tune.
this is a great song.
Thanks Charlie
Usually when they say someone was "at the helm" of a project, it means they directed it. But you're right. The shorter cowboy does like Mr. Pasdar.

Great music
Fantastic
I use to sing this song at koake when I used to go out
Cool!
It's weird how most country singers all sound the same. Or very similar.
Well, when I was young
My momma read me nursery rhymes beside my bed
And though they sounded mighty fine
They made no sense to me
And now that I am all grown up
It seems my nights have changed as such
So I went out and made me up
A nursery rhyme for me
It goes barlight, bar bright
First bar that I see tonight
Wish I may, wish I might
Find someone to hold me tight
Hey diddle diddle, a man with a fiddle
And the girls sing along with the tunes
Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights
And you can shut down this saloon
You know, I never understood
How a big ole gal can raise no kids in a shoe
And any old Jack goes jumping a candle
Needs to find something better to do
And a rub a dub dub, three men in a tub
Sure sounds kinda funny to me
So I made up a honky tonk nursery rhyme
And it's the only one I'll sing
It goes barlight, bar bright
First bar that I see tonight
Wish I may, wish I might
Find someone to hold me tight
Hey diddle diddle, a man with a fiddle
And the girls sing along with the tunes
Just a one more dance 'til you turn off the lights
And you can shut down this saloon
I said, "I never understood
How a big ole gal could raise no kids in a shoe
And any old Jack goes jumpin' a candle
Needs to find something better to do"
And a rub a dub dub, three men in a tub
Sure sounds kinda funny to me
So I made up a honky tonk nursery rhyme
And it's the only one I'll sing
It goes barlight, bar bright
First bar that I see tonight
Wish I may, wish I might

And the girls sing along with the tunes

fun dance #
it is Adrian Pasdar and he directed it
I agree she is not a simp

2 ppl liked rubba dubbing with 3 men a tub instead!
Rest in Honky Tonk Heaven Charlie. Damn this sucks
Is Charlie married?
I'm sure the gay pride folks have a problem with this song 😆
You think a lot about gay people?
@Batman9571 Crown ; )
Rub a dab 3 men in a tub sounds kinda odd
It’s all fun and games until he is too ummmm. Compromised. To remember his own lyrics.
Hes retired
@@ragereynolds4374 He should be based on the show I was at.
