- Well, this is it. This is how it looks my Resident Evil 4 demake mod finished. This mod uses the classic Resident Evil 2 as base and it runs on every single system capable to run PSX games, nevertheless this modification it's not public under any circumstance or concept, this has been a long experiment that has gave me a lot of experience and knowledge for future projects that could be enjoyed .

Love how you took the opening from the OG RE4 and reduced the quality and FPS to emulate the PS1 CGI cutscenes.
It wasn't intentional, it is the result of convert the ratio aspect and frames to the supported PS1 graphics ^^

This reminds me that you could have kept the opening cutscene about the Fall of Umbrella.
Keep the músic, use still frames from the whole sequence and transform Leon's narration into text.

Hahaha imagination its a powerful weapon that not always all have, also theres some limits and boundaries that hasn't been achieved yet on certain ps1 games. I apreciate your comment

WOW! The fact that RE4 is in fixed camera angles, it honestly makes it look more intense and scary.

@@jenpachi2408 all of them were action games that weren't scary. Gun everything down simulator from re1-6. 6 just did it the best gameplay wise. Re4 was the only one that scared me ever because of the tense moments. Re1-3 werent really scary more funny. Nemesis charging at you with haymakers and rockets. How is that not action?
All re are survival horror , they started to fk up everything with re4 5 6 7 Village... code veronica was the last true resident evil game in my opinion
@@BiohazardEsp I mean, I do like RE4. But I still do like the fixed camera like gameplay from RE1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica. I think the next RE remake is either RE5 or Code Veronica.
This is INSANE!!! not something i thought i needed in my life until now, it looks terrifying!! I always thought the village setting was the scariest map in any re game, i swear if this cane out back in the day it would have made my former child gamer self shit my pants! Job well done to the devs! BRAVO!!!

I might be considered a psychopath for this opinion but I really miss the old school play style, from the menu, to the Birds Eye view and tank controls

I wish that there was RE spin off series that plays and possibly looks like originals or like RE1R/RE0. I liked some of the newer titles and remakes, but they don't scratch that itch, I always have to revisit OG trilogy and CV instead

Wow! That's a great mod indeed, I'll probably try to beat it in the future when I 100% finish the og trilogy, although, I think I have some tips, if it might help or if you're interested in updating it.
Item drops: It's a bit hard to identify when an enemy drops bullets, key items, special items, etc, if there's any hint at all, so I would suggest you to do one out of two alternatives, first: making the item appear when the enemies die in Nemesis/Mr.x style(can't remember if it was like that in re2), or second: make the shining effect appear on their bodies when they drop something, each ones having their noticeable changes, like red for bullets, green for healing, etc.
Map/texture: This one is a little bit trickier, and much probably would take longer to recreate, but would still be a great addition, since some parts seem to be more open than it really is and vice-versa, either by doing those tweaks individually in each area with inconsistent collision, or modeling the map from the start, personally speaking, despite the latter one sounding more difficult to do, it wouldn't really be that bad, after all, the PS1 map models were really simple at the time, so if there's any "emptiness" by modern standards, it will mostly be an addition to the experience
But despite my critiques, as I said before, it's a great mod nonetheless, specially if that's your first project, but of course, that's just speculation from my part ^^; I admit I didn't watch the whole video to make sure if there's any more critiques I could possibly make, but it's because I'm interested in experiencing it for myself, hope you can bring more of those creative and well made projects to life.

Great mod. This demake has a more haunting vibe to it than the original and it reminds me of the castle prototype of RE4.

No way... I've thought re-makes were kinda ridiculous... But wait .. what if we ... INTENTIONALLY worked with just a fraction of what we have... No for real though... that's actually like ... extremely well done & impressive... The idea or concept alone is super impressive ..Not that it even matters .. but I woulda made the inventory more traditional looking..

resident evil 4 was the first resident evil game i couldn't play, because it gave me motion sickness. its been all downhill ever since. i can only play all the resident evil games before 4.with this new demake i can now play resident evil 4. at least if i can find where to get it.

You're not being rude at all. Some time ago i just decided to just showcase my work only. On the past i made public mods , but im tired of seeing reupload of those anywhere or people selling them etc . So if anyone likes it they should learn and study how to do it, same as i did 15 years ago when i was a complete noob. Nowdays as i said before to other ppl im just a modder showcasing months of hard work without imply the Word download anywhere on the video. So expectations are created by the ones hurted at not see a dl link.

But some criticism..
But why when there is a loading scene, there is a clothes changing sound lol?!?
Also it takes too many bullets to take down the enemies.. felt like a whole clip to kill someone!
And any way to increase the resolution of the background images?? They look all blurry and muddy. Also the menu needs some work.

Thanks for your offer, enemy damage hasn't changed its the same as re2, backgrounds are meant to be like that and not a pre render versión of an 8K set up of re4, as for the inventory i wanted empty of details as the one of OG re4 cant be done on old software

I understand that your going for an original look, not something that would look good in 8k. Just saying the details are just very muddy looking. Especially if you compare to the original RE1-3 they don't look so muddy and are pretty clear what's what. This just looks like Vaseline is smeared on the camera, no offense.
As for the inventory, I get that. Just looks like it's unfinished and glitchy. Needs something, maybe fill the background with the attache case or something..
Not trying to put down all your amazing efforts!! Just some criticism to help the demake.
I'm wondering if it's possible to do animated backgrounds with your tools instead of flat images, to bring some (or all) the backgrounds to life! Animated lighting, fog, moving skies, moving trees, water, etc..
As i said, ps1 has many limitations, i can not fill the menu bg like the og re4 ,mostly because its composed by colors and you can only left the blue or add a black color other than that will crash, so adding a picture like the og menu... its far far away from the capability of a ps1 game, i understand what you mean with the backgrounds, og re are pre rended- drawed backgrounds, unlike this demake i didn't "draw them" thats why you think it doesnt look like that
Maybe Water and fire sfx as you can see in some rooms, but nothing that cant be done on og re2 wich is the base that this mod use
