its more hygienic to wash hands regularly than wearing gloves. everyone that works in food industry knows this. Bacteria die also at a certain temperature so its more than safe to eat.

Italians would also refuse to wear gloves especially making cheese and pizza. Just belive at least the cooker who cooks it he is allowed not to wear gloves, he does the cooking as your parents would.
