We used to make those chef boyardee pizza kits that came in box .Being a family of 9 Payday was a special treat for us we would get a large pizza cut into squares got more piece that way and 2 orders of fries from the local pizza joint around the corner and would get 2 16 oz bottles of pepsi from the little mom and pop store right on the corner And we split the 2 pepsi between us 7 kids and we got out the glass measuring cup so everybody got the same amount.😁😁
Adding fennel seeds to any kind of plain sausage or ground meat gives that instant Italian-sausage flavor profile. Such a nifty thing to have on hand. Even though Italy is literally our neighbor here in Austria, there is no commercially-available Italian-style sausage (like you would find in the US), so I've learned to always have fennel seeds on standby for when I'm craving that flavor. Works like a charm.
I think it's really cool that you're still finding new recipes in magazines from almost 20 years ago. I wonder if the recipe writers have any idea that people like you are still trying them for the first time! Also after you mentioned Chi Chi's I checked on your channel if you've ever reviewed their corn cake mix and I saw that you haven't. I really love it, it's a really sweet, soft, cornbread mix. They might have it at your grocery store or Walmart but they definitely have it online.
Mrs.Tami you did a great job looks very look i tried your stuff shell recipe and your other recipes my sister and daughter loves it so I will be trying this one as well Thank you!!!!
Just the ingredients alone before getting started made me want n love it! Looks so delicious. Oh boy, I’ll make it . I could a piece in my mouth right now, lol! Thanks for a fantastic video......it was lots of fun cooking with you.
there was also taco tico (it's still in lexington, i was born there, but mostly raised in richmond) i loved that place they had the old cocktail arcade table you could play on as you waited on your food. my dead (rip for 27 years) loved pizza and always gotted the pizza hut cavatini pasta (he LOVED pasta & italian food in general) lord the 80s were great ❤️
That's similar to a recipe I make but except it calls for pillsbury grand biscuits and a can of pizza sauce and shredded cheese and the name of it is called bubble pizza. 🙂
This looks delicious. This would be much easier than the version, I know. When, I was in Middle School, my Home E.C. Class made a recipe for Upside Down Pizza. The, thing was you made the dough by scratch but, once you got it out of the oven and you let it cool down, you turned over where, you then, took it out of the pan,
We don’t like sausage at all, or pepperoni or bacon... I’d have to use just hamburger meat... but I’d add vegetables like you suggested... and maybe some different cheeses like cheddar, Romano or jack!
I get so frustrated when the change the package size and I have a recipe that uses the original amount! I have so many recipes that use a box of cake mix that started at 18 oz... now the box is only 15 oz... is so much rather pay a little more to keep the amount in the package from shrinking...! I think these companies think we won’t realize that we either get only 20 cupcakes or if we make 24, they are all stubby and smaller than they should be...

I bet that was such a fun, special night for everyone :)
The only thing I would do differently would be to use Italian Sausage but it looks pretty darn good.
*_This looks super appetizing._*

Fennel has an anise/licorice flavor to me.
I love that you can totally customize this. I’d love to do a pineapple chicken bacon with mushroom.
Looks delicious! Great recipe! Oh, to go back in time to 2003.....❤️

I have a niece that adores this casserole. You can change up the ingredients and i've never met a kid that doesn't like this.

That looks really good. I love a casserole. You could add all sorts of other ingredients too. I would add olives and chopped pepperoni.
Just a cooking tip, Im pretty sure they want you to mix the flour with grease to make a quick roux.
I agree, but I don't know why you'd make a roux for a recipe like this. What is there to thicken in this recipe?
That’s what I thought too but I have no clue why! So weird!
Yum! This looks really good! I would add pepperoni and mushrooms 😊
You did excellent job Tami. That looks & sounds amazing. 👍
Thank you!

Loving all the recipe videos!
"Chi-Chi's...a celebration of food!" I remember the commercial but was never near a Chi-Chi's. This looks yummy!
Yes! I sometimes search for and watch the old commercials on TH-cam :)
That looks wonderful!
I miss chi chi's! I dont even remember the food that much but every time we'd go I'd get the fried ice cream with honey for dessert. So good!
Yeah, its a shame they killed 4 people and got 660 more sick.
I have great memories from Chi-Chi's! :)
Looks great
TAMMY THATS DINNER SORTED FOR US TONIGHT . SO HUNGRY AFTER WATCHING THIS RECIPE. IT LOOKS GORGEOUS 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Thank you! I'm so glad!
Like a bit like a Chicago deep dish pizza
Nice sharing
Remade this again tonight with Alfredo, broccoli and spinach with noodles. It’s such a versatile recipe!
That's great!!
You need try crustless pizza that really good

There is a thing called pizza bubbles, which I made in Home E.C. in middle school. Through moving, I lost those box of recipes.
Nicely done 😋 mmmm
When I was a kid if you made a homemade pizza you would use canned spaghetti as the pasta sauce layer. Don't ask me why.
Looks really good
Thank you!

That sounds neat!
Delicious
My mom made homemade pizza every week. I was born in 1970. She used the chef boy rdee can of powder crust you have to mix up.
That’s great that she made it!
Fennel seed makes it taste like real Italian. Prego is my favorite sauce besides my homemade sauce.
Congratulations beautiful
Thank you!
I used to love Chi-Chis. 😋👏

You could absolutely use hamburger :)
🤤

Oh wow - from 18 oz. to 15 - I didn't even realize that!
Yes...It really throws recipes off... not sure when they started shrinking them... but any recipes are altered
