Thank you for putting the clip in from the farmer meeting at Carmarthen livestock market over 3000 people there. More videos with Gareth Wyn Jones.Welsh Labour Government doing its best to get rid of the farmers in Wales.Thank you.
Very emotional and best of luck to you all, don't give in! There's nothing wrong with the climate just the altered figures. UP THE FARMING POPULAR FRONT!
Wow that clip from Wales was powerful! I’m not afraid to say It brought a tear to my eye, good luck to all the farmers involved without you all we would go hungry.
Hey Olly, I’m so sad for welsh farmers 😪 the emotional pain needs to go all over TH-cam. Wales without sheep 🐑 or steel would be like bread without butter 😢
Olly, I really struggle to see how better England are off with the SFI, and with Defra have done for us. I think all they are doing is taking large areas out of production to tick their green credentials. While forgetting where the food comes from. They have released the principles for their schemes with payments, but not fully told us the details….. However you can’t help to be moved by watching the Welsh farmers speech, very well done to him.
Totally agree with you, I can see olly point that it's made his cash flow easier by the skeme they got there, but world wide the agenda is the same, they rather pay higher premium to NOT grow crops, there's thousands of hectares gone to these skemes, where it was food for the population or animals grown, not good
Those spreadabale spreaders are superb for bedding livestock- I used a round bale one for several yrs, pre 2016, was one of the best tools on the dairy farm the straw it saved, time, not always having to move cows, calves out of the way to use a muck fork to spread straw out.
I thought for a minute there that you left the wire cutters on top of the bale in the spreading machine!! 😮🤣😂 very emotional meeting with the farmers in Wales 🏴 Great blog Olly, saying it as it is, bringing farming to the attention of the nation. “ no farmers no food, enough is enough.” Ian can see it all now!! 🥸
The Spread a Bale needs to be able to flip the bale onto it's side like a Saw Mill flips a log. Then the strings would be much easier to remove as the knots wouldn't get trapped. Just a thought. 👍
The SpreadABale is an interesting piece of kit. Get better soon Morgan. Aspirin OR paracetamol will help with cold symptoms. Cheers for the report from the Carmarthen mart meeting; Another one the Ingurlund Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) just ignored! 110% plus 3 yellow cars and 3 orange cars (only one a FORD Asbo).
It was at Carmarthen Livestock market, the number media seems to be using is 3000. I heard a number 4500 and farmers were still quin for miles to get in. I know someone who was quing for so long they missed it, and someone who missed half hour. And someone else who missed a hour. It was truly amazing, something that I will never forget, the story will be passed down through the generation's. Dripford and the Welsh parliament is better start listening, because this is just the beginning. Mewn undeb mae nerth.
Ian looks like Jim Royale.Base for the bird table, put the post in a car tyre and fill with concrete. It'll be heavy enough not to blow over but easy to roll out of the way to mow the grass
Great video Olly that spreada bail makes short work of them bails.. Very emotional speach from carmarthen when is the government going to realise without farming there will be no food and the price of food will go through the roof 😊😊😊40 %
That farmer meeting was so touching. NO FARMERS NO FOOD✊🏻 As the Spread-a-Bale chops a bit as it spreads, will the new bales stay together when you re-bale them?
You can't Call yourself a farmer olly if you don't carry a pocket knife and have a piece of baler cord in your pocket. haha. Good well made piece of kit those spread a bale machines. Our support goes out to the Welsh farmers and others around the world that are standing up for our industry. It does make you think should we British be doing something to show the Jacob Rees Mogg's of this world that people with his sort of thoughts have got it all wrong
Well straw must be worth £200 a ton over your way😳😳. Spread it, dry it and re bale. As a livestock farmer if it will go through the spread a bale as easy as that it isn’t a wet bale it’s only damp. Just sell, it to some beef men at 60 to 70 % price and you will all be happy, it’s only for cattle to shit on at the end of the day.
I'm interested to see how you're going to get the dried straw into the baler - I watched Farming Insider on YT who rebale a lot of hay and they use conveyors
Marks and Spencer are selling pork as British with the Union Flag on the front of the packet, but if you read the reverse it says British or from the Netherlands. Its part of their Valentine's meal deal. Makes a mockery of Red Tractor
Spread a bale is great tool if accessibility to sheds is easy did u think to try rear discharge muck spreader with vertical beaters would do same job 80%
Get yourself a shut knife as it’s called in Norfolk. Don’t carry it in urban situations these days! Dried damp straw should NOT be used for equines as breathing difficulties can result! Better tell Joe Seels about the strings! Fine rain known here as North Sea Fret.
I'm interested how you are gonna rebale the straw? The video about the Welsh farmers is a tear jerker. Its so sad to see, but the end of the day our government is Not interested in Agriculture or Manufacturing, we are just a port for imported stuff. 75% no allotment work this weekend it'll be a bit wet.
The makita inflaters are bloody brilliant. Ive ifor tyres up to 90psi with ease in a couple of minutes, and admittedly only small 2wd tractor tyres but a lot more handy than a 12v lighter one. Do you have any review on thr knockoff makita heat gun you bought a while ago. Tempted by one? 85% today
Olly did you see the farmer protest in the middle of Paris, a load of mothers with their children on plastic tractors going through a pedestrian street, I thought what an idea and something that makes a point
Would you back/organise direct action from farmers in England to educate the public the government shutting down UK agriculture for the environment and importing food ?
@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer Wheat soon going to be £150/t. Can't go on. I understand the government wants cheap food for everyone and farmers are the minority but something's going to give.
Brilliant video Olly love the spread a bale doesn’t it make a good good ideal for bedding buildings down doesn’t Ian suit glasses Looks like a professor and Morgan soon going to be a sprayer man. You’ll just have to watch that straw for getting on fire feeling 95% today excellent video Olly
It's the government laissez faire policies that's got us into this mess, allowing the powerful supermarket buyers too much power. We need the government to step in and to regulate and enforce decent farm gate prices, surely.
I really fail to see how its so much better in england than wales, welsh farm payment has been the same as before for the last 2 years, but their future payments and the hoops they need to jump through are terrible, we farm in the english side of the border and if the welsh protest i want to support them, i think we in england should be doing the same, our sfp was £26000, then cut to £20000, last year cut to £16000, so our bank acount is short £16000 over the last 2 years, on top of that we have sufferd cripleing inflation, the magority of our farm is perminant grass with a small amount of arable which we need to keep in crops to feed the stock, so theres very little in sfi for us.
Think some are cautious of the sfi because they can’t see where the government is going to find the money to pay everyone and if the money isn’t there when payments are due the farmers won’t have any income, whereas if they continue to grow combinable crops at least they will have something to sell.
@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer I was told by a customer today that only a few years ago he didn’t get all the money that he was expecting due to non compliance with what he felt was the ‘small print’. I’m not a farmer myself so don’t fully understand it but that one customer today hasn’t been the only one that’s talked about not getting paid.
Yes obviously, but how? In my head I can’t see how you’re going to do it. Normally a baker will pick up the straw from a row but the straw isn’t in rows unless you’re going to lay it out in rows.
Tough times for all farmers at the moment. Protesting for your future I agree with but how do you do that and keep the public onside. We went shopping a week ago, the fruit and veg isle cost us £30 and the whole shop was £65 and that was just 3 bag fulls. I earn a good wage (didn't follow my father into farming)but even that does not stretch as far as it did. The farmer does not get paid enough for their produce and us as the end user do not want to pay more, its only the middle men and supermarkets that win out of all this.
What is the plan with the straw after it dried?Wales have had it pretty good, they still get full compensation for TB ,England been on a table for 18 years,on the English side of the welsh border we have been second class citizens for quite some time.SFI in England for a livestock ,not that simple, herbal leys might work if you can get the seed, why spend money fencing off corners to grow rubbish? It different for arable ,you wont normlly put animals in there so the options work easier,They go on about permanent grassland being a good carbon sink and the way its designed ,people will rip it up to put herbal leys in ,also big estates putting a lot into bird mixes and sacking the workforce, was this Defra plan getting rid of more people out of the countryside
Sfi is ok for an arable farmer it's a waste of time for a stock farmeri think farmers will live to regret vast areas of bird food, imagine how crows and pigeons are going to increase, going to be a job to be a hello of a job to establish next door crops

On a bright note that straw mattress looks amazing, be great for a sleep over on top 😂😂
Run your dried straw through the chipper a couple of times , really grind it down and offer it for cubicle bedding , sawdust is around £140 a ton

For the bird feeder, I use 2 bits of 8mm bar bent with about a 100mm radius and 300mm long. Easy to stand on to push in and then pull out and move

Good video olly and my thorts are all farmers need to stand to gether as one in numbers naw is the only way i think keep up the good work 👍
