The Millpu Pools in Ayacucho in Peru are a series of small natural lagoons cascading through a steep and narrow gorge. Also known as the Pools of Millpu and Aguas Turquesas Millpu, these beautiful natural pools are a sight to behold. The Pools of Millpu in Ayacucho are one of the best natural wonders in Peru, if not South America.
The Millpu Pools aren't located in the tourist hubs of Cusco or Huaraz. You'll need to base yourself in the city of Ayacucho to visit the Millpu Pools. But, even once you're in Ayacucho, the natural Pools of Millpu are still a bit of a shlep to get to. But, the standard day tour to the majestic Millpu Pools is absolutely worth it.

People used to go in, but I think the authorities of Ayacucho prohibited that. It is actually a turquoise river, one of kind, but there is a warning. After seeing Millpu, every other river you see is just going to look dirty.
