Gaming magazines ( which were huge back then) were all giving it low scores. I held off buying it till about 6 months after its release. Tons of copies at gamestop, grab one for 10 bucks, best 10 bucks ever. I remember my Xbox live friends were ragging on me for playing it. I tried to convince them to play it, but they wouldn't. I think the bad exposure kept them away. Definitely a gem in the 360 era.

You can see so many assets that wound up being in their next game Warframe: - Main character is named Hayden Tenno, and Tenno are what operate Warframes - The glaive throwing blade is a weapon in Warframe - The Excalibur proto armor Hayden wears (which is an obvious redesign of their originally planned Excalibur suit design, found in the Dark Sector announcement trailer) - The enemies in Hazmat looking suits are clearly redesigned Grineer - @13:24 is basically Nyx from Warframe (and Nyx even ends up getting this exact design as a purchasable skin) - @1:18:07 is Jackal (which shares the same name and almost exact design as the Jackal sentry bot found in Dark Sector announcement trailer and Warframe) - You see the lotus symbol all over this game, while Lotus is the name of a character that every Warframe player knows and loves - @2:40:27 are the exact same enemy types they eventually added in Warframe, which are named Zealoid Prelates, found on the Deimos assassination mission
In the early builds of the game, every enemy had the same voice, and it was the voices of the guys in Hazmat suits. The only change was they lowered their voices to sound...grineer-ish. I still have those low-pitched "Uahhhh!" sounds in my head. I've been playing since update 7. I love seeing the game continually evolve. I'd love to see warframe get an engine update with a new look and physics.
This game with some modern day polishing and I can see this game become what the game devs were wanting it to be: a masterpiece, if it wasn't already one
Wouldn't have to do much either. Increase frame rate to 60 fps minimum, improve anti aliasing. Improve the lighting and contrast and thats all thats needed tbh.
Definitely one of THE best games I played on the 360! Took a while but I actually made it through the entire game. Definitely a solid game. I also love that "glaive" weapon. Certainly inspired by the Krull film!!😁😁
I'm glad I was able to find this video. I think Dark Sector is going to be more relevant to Warframe now after Tennocon 2023. I can't wait to finish watching this game and see what it's about!

You want to play as tenno again expect you get full customization over your character and you can play has dark sector with the proto Excalibur skin with the gravv skin to get his melee weapons his pistol is literally the main weapon you get

@@henrique8921 Eh, there's a bunch of references to dark sector in it, and originally dark sector was going to be a lot closer to what Warframe is but it had to be completely redone due to publisher demands, hence why DE went indie. Trust me, even though they don't share the same story, Warframe's definitely the spiritual successor.
my soul hurt at his weapon and upgrade choices,puts accuracy on the sniper when it has a scope (its pretty useless anyways more than half the enemy comes closer to you and then never uses the enfron rounds when he's constantly getting his ass handed to him by infected enemies.
It's kinda strange now that Warframe is circling back to its Dark Sector roots, what with the Kahl missions, Duviri and now the upcoming Warframe 1999.
This explaind alot about what the hell warframes are and the history of warframe itself, de makes the biggest surprises ive ever seen. This is why i play warframe.
Too bad Dark Sector was considered a failure, since it is a great game for sure! And I feel Digital Extremes could make it work for the current generations of systems out there besides what work they are doing with Warframe, which has some nods to what they originally intended in Dark Sector. Hell, for a sequel idea, have Hayden dealing with some other weird experiments that were inspired by the Technocyte or something else, not just from the US, but also something else, perhaps also dealing with backlash for killing the A.D. after coming to grips with how he used him to his own means by preparing him for the Technocyte, just like Mezner. There's a lot of potential that could be done for a sequel!
I'm glad it was a failure. Now we have one of the best F2P games of all time, Warframe. Sometimes failures lead to successes, but I agree it would be cool to see a sequel.
