I just got the Weebill S I found a sale for $250 since it is my first one and not sure how much I would use it I figured it would be great. I followed your set up video and boom I was up and running! I just picked up the follow focus and will soon give that a go. You have helped me so much! Say'in hey... Greg
I don't yet have a gimbal, and was waiting for the Weebill 2 to come out to buy my first gimbal. Now I'm torn: I really need a small compact gimbal, but on the other hand I like the sturdiness of the weebill 2, and I like the pull out screen that seems so much more easy to use to set parameters.
If you’re using the Zhiyun wireless transmitter, the Zhiyun app installed on a phone will give you the video and the ability to change the settings remotely - no need to struggle with the small display.
06:15 then why didn't you take the 10 minutes to make two similar clips for this video. I would really have loved to see that. A review without test footage is just a bit lacking. Still great video. thank you.
Where was this video 2 days ago?!? 😂 I searched everywhere for a head to head comparison and couldn’t find one! Ultimately I jumped for the Weebill 2 for my first REAL gimbal. Hopefully I won’t regret spending the extra $$$.
Hi guys. Thanks again Peter for you hard work. I'm posting this here since we've got a large gimbal comunity users here. Zhiyun lock mode issue I've got a serious issue my beloved Weebill S. To begin with, I must say that I had this issue with 3 different Weebill S... The "before last" annoyed me so much I was sure it was a fulty unit, so I sent it back and I directly purchased the one I've got now. Yesterday I gave it a try and boom, same issue !!! So, everything works fine with this gimbal except the "LOCK MODE" (not the lock system). In this specific mode the camera has to point in the same direction without moving. Unfortunately in my case, it does move, pan to be precise. After a couple of minutes it panned like 5 or 6 degrees. So it makes it useless for hyperlapses, for example. I can't believe I am unlucky enough to be the only one having such a trouble with my Weebill S. My question is : do you have, guys, the same problem with yours ? If so, did you find a way to solve it ? Thank you very much !
@@PeterMakholmNice idea, I will definitely try that. I was thinking about something else. I tried lately with my A7C and the 28-60, as I wanted to keep the setup light, but maybe it's part of the problem. When I'll go back to my house this week-end I will try to put my A7III and a biggest lens, like a 16-35 on it. Maybe the payload was not heavy enough. Thanks Peter !
Good evening Peter, I am a photographer and I want to start in the world of video, which do you recommend between the Weebill 2 or the Weebill 3? Thanks in advance.

Although it wasn't your intention, as an owner of the Weebill S you just convinced me that the Weebill 2 is superior and a better investment than the Weebill S. In your very good review, you say that with the right techniques and good editing you could get the same footage with the Weebill S as the Weebill 2. That sounds like saying "no worries, you can fix it in post". In other words, I have to work more to get with the Weebill S what I will naturally, and without any extra post work will get with the Weebill 2. IPS... If anyone wants to buy my weebill S let me know. :)
As with any review, it's the reviewers opinion. You can get exactly the same quality of footage with the same camera on either gimbal... The gimbal is merely stabilising footage, both of which do the job very well. There's no way you will feel the difference in either case. You're paying for the aluminium, the new factor and potentially the screen and a few other minor upgrades, but still it won't make your footage any more steadier than the Weebil S. It rose to popularity because it's a very very capable and steady gimbal. Good Marketing is what makes people upgrade, but their footage will not improve because of it.
is it practical to use the weebill s for vlogging? there's a crane m3 but I have a canon m10 with a sigma 16mm lens and it might be too heavy and restricted for the crane m3?
How does the weebill 2 handles vertical mounted cameras? I hate it but these days more and more assignments demand me to shoot vertical. I love the weebill s a lot but I notice it struggles when I'm shooting vertical, i have an L bracket mounted on my sony a7sii with the quick release plate on the left side of the body but this way the center of mass is way above the pitch gimball motor making it verry poorly balanced. When I'm using ND's and other filters it just shuts down from time to time due to motor overload.
The weebill 2 has stronger motors an improved algorithm that makes it the better gimbal in the long run. But for a beginner or someone with a smaller setup the weebill s is perfect.
Hi it is the evoc cp26. But I recomend that you check out the peter mckinnon travel bag. It is amazing. It can fit any gimbal in the top compartment. I use this bag a lot.
Which Quick release plate would you recommend for the Panasonic S5? I had a look on the one you mentioned, but is compatible with Canon and Sony, they do not mention Panasonic...
Peter, thank you. Having recently purchased the S, was wondering if I’d made a mistake; no. Battery life seems better on the S, and load capability better too. If you’re using the S on a ‘Minity’, suggest you’d be unlikely to see the 2’s small screen anyway.
You mention the Ulanzi Falcam f38... does that replace the Weebill-S quick release? Do you think that would work well with a camera in a cage, or would it be too top heavy? I'm currently using the Weebill-S quick release plate with a Sony A7siii+Cage. It works fine, but i don't like how the camera plate is so long. I like the idea of the shorter piece on the camera. Also - if the F28 is suitable, which items do I need? The Ulanzi website is not very clear on this. They use the "F38 Quick release system" for several different item. :)
