Anyone else wonder why Price was sent out for the seventh? He was at 95 pitches after six innings, seemed like a good time to call it a night. Gardner is a left handed batter so I guess maybe that made sense, but then Price is was left in to face right batting catcher. It was like Cora was channeling his inner Grady Little.
I'll follow my last statement up with: Listening to those announcers last night was SO HARD. The ESPN announcers are trash....just had conversations most the game, a guy could be 3 or 4 pitches into a count before they event acknowledged him, or you'd get a quick "up and in" from the play by play and then back to A-rod talking about himself.............. Seriously. As a Sox fan I think the three head monster of Dennis Eckersley, Jerry Remy and Dave O'Brien is pretty fun and awesome to listen too. However, I'd still rather listen to a YES broadcast of a game than have to sit through another ESPN Sunday Night announcing crew.....they were TRASH

The Red Sox smart and strategical baserunning and the fact that the Red Sox lead the league in stolen bases is really not being appreciated or even acknowledged really. Sox are 5th in MLB in home runs, they have the best defensive outfield in the game, and the best batting averages. The Red Sox are just very solid and dominant in almost every aspect of the game, and that's the difference.

IMHO three Yankee issues that were exposed: ~ Giancarlo Stanton strikes out too much. ~ Overall Fielding & Efforting is below acceptable. ~ Handling of their pitching staff during gameplay is narrow and ad-hoc when approaching critical ABs from a serious opponent. The return of Aaron Judge really doesn't fix any of these, their manager must remedy all this himself... if he is able. -b
Pathetic. No excuse for that. Except ill say Chapman isnt getting in games as much lately because of all the losses and it may have effected him once he finally got his shot. Yankee pitching is terrible. Relying on the bullpen every game is an intetesting idea, but every other team thats winning is doing it by their ability to have good starting pitching go late into the game. Porcello pitched a complete game, Eovaldi went 8 innings, Price went 6, but Tanaka only went 4 2/3 and he was doing well when he got taken out. Even Severino got knocked out early in his start and hes the only pitcher consistently giving at least 7 innings. Thats the problem. And all the AAA players being used isnt working.
