My coins arrived still in their cases, but the old design coin had a scratch to the left of the eagle that goes all of the way through the dull surface to the material underneath and is so easy to see. How do these coins ship in such an obviously flawed condition? Very disappointing.
We got 2 sets. 1 looks pretty flawless. The other has a piece of the frosting missing near the W mint mark. It can be seen easily with no magnification. Pretty disappointing. I’d be bothered for sure if mine arrived as yours did
Received mine today. It was wrapped just like yours. I was lucky that the capsules did not come fully out ot the nests and they both did not open for either coin. The type-2 capsule was not fully seated but the packaging had retention where it was not loose. Dodged a bullet but this has to be raised as a significant concern by the collector community.
WOW, this is totally unacceptable by the mint !!!!!! I feel so bad for you that came like this. I would have been heartbroken, if that was me. At least the coin was not damaged, you dodged a bullet on this one. I also received a set, I was lucky and mine came in all intact.
I'm glad yours came in good. I can see one little area on the reed edge that looks like damage but haven't examined with anything other than my naked eye. In the capsule its not visible of course. Still some beautiful coins. I love the reverse proof coins personally.
Sorry for your disappointment...Got mine in "mint" condition. With the state of USM site, I was lucky to get a confirmed order...You too!!! I got one Wednesday in the same shape. Left coin was completely out and loose hitting the plastic cover so bad it scarred the holder and damaged the edges. What do you do about this. Who do you complain to or file a complaint with.
If you ordered directly from the US Mint then contact their customer service. But this was from 2021 and I thought these sold out back then. If you bought it from a 3rd party reseller then try to contact them. If they don't take it back and give you a refund maybe dispute the charges if you used a credit card.
I just got 4 from my dealer 2012 for $25.50 each. $175 seams a little high to me? They look great! To bad one was out of the sleeve. Can you post a link for the website you ordered them from?

But anyway, this proof set is direct from the US Mint...However, I will still agree that $175 is high for even these sets and poor packaging. But actually these are being resold on the secondary market for much more than the price I paid. When you spend a premium on these sets you would expect better packaging and quality, my v75 eagle had damage on the obverse I just kept the coin rather than send it back.
Yes exactly! I do wonder if they had troubles sourcing proper packaging this year because of supply shortages? Or just squeezing us for extra profits. Either way, the substandard packaging is shameful for these.
Looks like coin holder is upside down. Mine has not shipped yet so just maybe they fixed the problem and how many coins will not get 70 because of the error?
It will be interesting to see how coins grade out with these. I'd be a bit leery of trying to buy OPG online in the secondary. Could be damaged...even if its an unopened box.
These US mint coins are pricey compared to spot. So the value hinges on the Numismatic value but that can be a fickle animal. I need to stack some straight silver rounds.
My 2021 peace dollars plastic case had popped off during shipping, I couldn't see any damage though. The other peace dollar had a loose case. I attributed it to the high relief initially, but now Im having second thoughts.
I got mine last night rattling in the package and the type 2 was out of the capsule. My type 1 capsule has a chip taken out of the side. Its very disappointing and shameful.
I got two sets. The first set had that tissue paper wadded up between the coin box and the shipping carton. No issues. The second set had the coin box wrapped in the tissue paper. They Type 1 was loose in the box but still in the capsule. No damage.
I'm glad you had no damage. I'm not sure why someone at the mint was wrapping the tissue around the coin box. That would be ok only if they put some foam in the shipping box to keep it from banging around.
I got mine and already sent it to NGC for grading. Should get it back late November according to the turnaround times on their website. Have my second set arriving next week!
I got a set. Wanted to keep them in original packaging from the mint. However, the noise coming from within the box spelled disaster. The same as yours. One was loose and free lying around in the "elegant" box. I don't think there is any damage. Cheers
Mine too! It was the original design coin. Heavy scratching as if another coins Reeded edge hit. Mints customer service was very rude. So I hung up, I'll try again tomorrow

It is shameful how the U.S. Mint changed the packaging this year. It is so cheap and skimpy. Previous years, this set would have been in a proper clam shell box. And the coin certainly would not be falling out of the coin capsule.
I know this is a year later but I just got one shipped to me and the same exact coin was just about to come loose from the capsule, a few more shakes and I’m sure it would have.

I like that the reeded edges are also in reeded proof finish. You should get them graded considering these are very nice and very rare and the packaging is complete garbage. Mine are being graded.

Mine were both sealed in the capsules and locked down in the packaging. But one has a fleck or chip in the frosted field and a tiny piece of debris inside the capsule. 😡🤯-✌️❤️🇺🇸🥈
Is there any kind of refund the mint would give you or a replacement coin? I am sure you can return them but there are none to replace them with. Dang shame that they were packged so poorly. I'd be PO'd!!!!!! Mine were perfect and my neighbor's order was too! I hate that this happened. I guess they US Mint wanted to add more BANG for the buck! Really, it is a damn shame!
Yeah, the mint has a return within 7 days of receipt type of policy. But they have no replacements so I'll just be keeping this one. I'm glad yours is good. I've had a few comments already from folks stating theirs was out like mine. So that is a scary thought.
I have had several items come like this, this year and it pisses me off every time I see it. I am paying a premium for an item and they need to offer premium with how it is packaged. Every time it does happen, it is with a sold out item. I had only one that wasn't sold out and I sent it back to them and checked the exchange and they refunded me instead of sending out another one that they had. That pissed me off even more, I ASKED for an exchange and it was in stock, so why can they not do that. Can the US Mint get anything right anymore, I guess not.
My favorite coin by far. It's to bad the packing is so cheap. Mine came in very snug. But I am seeing more than not the coin coming out of the packaging
A half hour is a good time to get one, it took me an hour and 10 minutes to get my set. The website crashed about 30 times on me and I had to keep starting over, and after over an hour my order finally went through. I got my coins saturday, and I already sold them for a good profit, but it was a giant hassle to get them. And my set was wrapped the exact same way, what I do not like is the cheap all black box they come in. for coins that cost that much the box should be better, and a higher quality.
@@TheRealCobraBurnout The mint will never fix their website crashing problems because it would cost too much money to fix it. The website only crashes when they have a hot coin for sale, so they are not going to spend money to fix a problem they only have 4 or 5 times a year.

that's how you get the coins when USPS tosses the box as if it was a sack of potatoes, lately i've received all kinds of damaged packages from the USPS, us mint should've packed the coins better.
Freaking US mint. Both of the capsules in my box were separated when I opened the box. Had flecks of black cotton that I had to clean everywhere. Don't even know how they popped open in shipping, the capsules felt very secure and hard to open actually once closed together... Very pretty coins though
I think the mint should be giving partial refunds for these. Mine were in their capsules but freely floating in the box. For the price of these, I expect them to be in perfect condition along with perfect packaging. They should give all who purchased a little money back.
I would be pretty upset if my set was damaged not only should the mint pack stuff better but if they're using USPS to deliver them they should take better care of people's packages and not toss them around etc.

@@TheRealCobraBurnout thankfully mine arrived without any issues none of the capsules opened or popped out of the slots and they put in the piece of styrofoam in the box so the box wouldn’t move much thank god I was worried about these I was one of the lucky ones
@@TheRealCobraBurnout I had to set up an account with my neighbor's permission in her name. Got the other set for OUR other neighbor who is now 90 years old. His set and mine have arrived about a week apart. Both sets are flawless.

I know right. When I got the box out of the mail box I heard something so that was a flinch move. I honestly thought it was just the interior box sliding and had no idea the coins might be popped from the capsule. First time I've seen something like this. And imaging the Post office tossing these boxes around in shipping.
Most of my stuff is OGP. I'm glad yours came in good. They really been skimping on the coin boxes this year but this is the first time I've had one pop out like this.
I'm starting to wonder if the US mint is short handed. They are just slapping these things in boxes with no quality control or forethought. then again the cheap packaging is shameful at this price point.

I was purchasing Walking Liberty Rounds for my wife. Six at a time for various holidays.. The spot price is high now so I stopped.

My Peace Dollar was loose in the case but still in the capsule thankfully.

With mine bouncing around loose, it probably would not grade well enough to be be worth the cost.
Mine wasn't wrapped like that. The paper was just sort of stuffed inside the box, over the set.

The website crashing is definitely an issue that needs to be resolved. The Mint knows this happens every time.

Freaking US mint. Both of the capsules in my box were separated when I opened the box. Had flecks of black cotton that I had to clean everywhere. Don't even know how they popped open in shipping, the capsules felt very secure and hard to open actually once closed together...

I'm wondering if the person packing these didn't close the capsule all the way. But who knows. It is shameful.
I think the mint should be giving partial refunds for these. Mine were in their capsules but freely floating in the box. For the price of these, I expect them to be in perfect condition along with perfect packaging. They should give all who purchased a little money back.
That would be nice.
I would be pretty upset if my set was damaged not only should the mint pack stuff better but if they're using USPS to deliver them they should take better care of people's packages and not toss them around etc.

I've had a few people now post to this vid that theirs came in similar. Loose in the packaging. I really hope yours are good! Let us know how they arrive.
@@TheRealCobraBurnout thankfully mine arrived without any issues none of the capsules opened or popped out of the slots and they put in the piece of styrofoam in the box so the box wouldn’t move much thank god I was worried about these I was one of the lucky ones
Somehow they allowed me to get 2 to the same household even tho originally the household limit was 1

@@TheRealCobraBurnout I had to set up an account with my neighbor's permission in her name. Got the other set for OUR other neighbor who is now 90 years old. His set and mine have arrived about a week apart. Both sets are flawless.

I know right. When I got the box out of the mail box I heard something so that was a flinch move. I honestly thought it was just the interior box sliding and had no idea the coins might be popped from the capsule. First time I've seen something like this. And imaging the Post office tossing these boxes around in shipping.

Very sad that even the U. S. Mint has started to crank out damaged junk, poorly packaged.
That started a few years ago with low quality packaging and poor Quality Control. Hopefully they do better in the future but I won't hold my breath.
Received mines yesterday and came perfect but there really nice but I’m not getting it graded just wanted in OGP.
Most of my stuff is OGP. I'm glad yours came in good. They really been skimping on the coin boxes this year but this is the first time I've had one pop out like this.

I'm starting to wonder if the US mint is short handed. They are just slapping these things in boxes with no quality control or forethought. then again the cheap packaging is shameful at this price point.
Sadly the U. S. Mint is turning out more junk even on the high end stuff. The coins and the packaging are bad and grossly overpriced.

When it rains it pours ! THAT is JUST like the ole administration 🪙! Receiving that coin out of its lens , after the fiasco ordering it! I just got the limited edition double 🦅 silver set and everything went smoothly, so maybe things 🪙 are looking up , good 👍🏻 luck 🍀
