    Thank you so much! I've wished I "could ballet" most of my life and here i am at 30, recovering from knee surgery, able to learn ballet arm movements for the first time. It's way more emotional than I anticipated. Studying up for when I'm healed! I love your language and that it's inclusive while staying true to the craft. You have found the delicate balance that's impossible for most to achieve. Brava!

      Thank you! It's really wonderful to hear that you find my teaching style to be both inclusive and authentic/informative--this is everything I try to bring to the table! I'm glad you've found Everyday Ballet, and I hope you'll take this opportunity of healing to start doing ballet! Best wishes to you for a thorough, healthy recovery! I look forward to sharing more ballet with you!

    I remember being about 4 years old and an aunt asking me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her I wanted to be a ballerina. She told me all the reasons why I couldn't be one. My mama joined in and helped her. Now at 52, I have been watching utube videos and practicing. I am thinking about taking a class. 🩰

      First, I’m so sorry your family said those things and crushed your spirit. My hope is that they didn’t mean to do so and were only trying to protect you (ballet is an incredibly arduous, tenuous, & often cruel profession). But now you can learn & love ballet to your heart’s content, and I hope you will!!! I’m so glad you found my channel. And I have an entire online program made for people exactly like you who want to start as adults. Whether or not you go that route, I am heartened to hear that you are following your heart and giving the dream of ballet to the little girl inside. That kind of healing is immeasurable, as is connecting to the joy and beauty we can feel through ballet. 🙏🩰💕

    This was insanely humbling!!!- The fact that he SIMPLEST of arm stretches make me sweat was so insightful into the grueling art of ballet- Simply trying to attempt to move my arms with fluidity made me gasp in pain..... My jaw was on the floor when I realized how flexible you need to be to make it look effortless! I thought I pulled something in my necK for a second on the arabesque!🤣 Ballerina's are OTHERWORLDLY!! Literally amazing. Infinite respect

      I'm so glad you didn't pull your neck! And I hope perhaps you will do the exercise on a regular basis to help stretch and strengthen your upper body! Yes, doing ballet arms is challenging--but it does look so effortlessly beautiful... Now you know how much is happening beneath the surface. 😉💕🩰

    This is so wonderful! I have been wanting to learn ballet my entire life and now I am taking classes. I am by far the oldest person in my class, but I am loving it. Your videos are just what I need so I can best practice at home. Your patient explaining of things is really great. I could thank you 1000 times over for helping me change my life (and to improve my posture, which I sorely needed to do since forever). Thank you for taking the time to explain and teach ballet to those of us who have always wanted to learn, but (in my case) was too intimidated to try until arriving in my fifth decade! Although I will never be a professional, to be able to learn many of these beautiful moves will be good enough for me. Thank you, thank you!

    • @everydayballet
      @everydayballet  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the excellent question! Yes, there are different “schools” of ballet technique that have slight differences when it comes to arm (& leg!) positions. Everyday Ballet uses the French style of port de bras (carriage of the arms). You may be more used to seeing the “low” third position with the curved arm at waist level. That is the Italian school “Cecchetti Method.” Hope this helps! 🥰🩰✨
