Peace be upon you, it is from the movie "Into Great Silence" (German: Die große Stille) is a documentary film directed by Philip Gröning that was released in 2005. It is an intimate portrayal of the everyday lives of Carthusian monks of the Grande Chartreuse, a monastery high in the French Alps (Chartreuse Mountains). Production The idea for the film was proposed to the monks in 1984, but the Carthusians said they wanted time to think about it. They responded to Gröning 16 years later to say they were willing to permit him to shoot the movie if he was still interested. Gröning then came alone to live at the monastery, where no visitors were ordinarily allowed, for a total of six months in 2002 and 2003. He filmed and recorded on his own, using no artificial light. Gröning then spent two and a half years editing the film. The final cut contains neither spoken commentary nor added sound effects. It consists of images and sounds that depict the rhythm of monastic life, with occasional intertitles displaying selections from Holy Scripture. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Into_Great_Silence Saint Bruno pray for us en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruno_of_Cologne ps. come to my channel to see Holy Mass in a Carmelite (Jerusalem) Rite. The description says that the carthusian version is a bit different. In fact that is also true for some of the sacraments I believe. Their formula for absolution is slightly different, and the confiteor at the start of the Mass is a bit different as well.
CorpusChristi777Amen because it's for them, the monks, an natural course of action; it's included in their faith they don't have to discuss the truth (of the motherhood an virginity) they just believe it like a child
I can feel their love and devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary in the way they sing.
Beautiful chant. God bless these Holy monks and keep them in his most Sacred Heart
Beautiful salute from Croatia❤
THANKS for your life of prayer
so easily I can see the Blessed Mother hanging out and being safe with this community and living in peace

@kkallebb Yes, "vale" is a typographical error.

Hey, can you tell me what recording this is pulled from?
pax christi
Isn't it "in hac lacrimarum VALLE" (not VALE)?:
The description says that the carthusian version is a bit different. In fact that is also true for some of the sacraments I believe. Their formula for absolution is slightly different, and the confiteor at the start of the Mass is a bit different as well.
@William S. exactly, it's in hac lacrimarum
@William S. VALLE
The voices laughing and shouting at the end are not those of the monks because there is a woman’s voice there! +
Pity you've blocked this for iPods /pads :-(
What do you mean?
why there was not ''Mater Misericordiae'' and ''Virgo (Maria)'' sung? sad...
CorpusChristi777Amen because it's for them, the monks, an natural course of action; it's included in their faith
they don't have to discuss the truth (of the motherhood an virginity) they just believe it like a child
