I feel like people have just given up trying to play by Tavern Brawl rules and just use net decks in everything these days. When your net deck is better than a Brawl deck, you know Blizzard has fucked up balance somethin fierce.
Mathmachine Agro and tempo are just too well rewarded. Use broken decks and then be rewarded with extra spells? wtf Blizzard!
I know right? I stopped playing ladder because of all the netdecks people use. I just play tavern brawl and wait for each wednesday. And every.. Fucking.. Time it's a deckbuild brawl people play the same fucking netdecks as ladder. I mean, whats the point? It's so irritating, wish we could report them for that or block people from playing netdecks.
I dislike net-decking, it takes the fun outta half of the game. I prefer mashing shit together and rolling it from there, it's more fun that way. Just my opinion though.
i did not. i had some fun with malygos too in hunter(deathrattle hunter). Hunter is not braindead class you know.
I usually only use tavern brawl to finish my quests, and really only play it for fun if i like the brawl. I felt pretty guilty trying to finish my 3 Warrior Wins, and play 10 Weapons quests in tavern brawl. Sorry everyone i faced ;--;

Why are Hearthstone players so stupid?
Daniel, if it's 100% luckbased why do all the same pros reach top legend ranks while lots of people never pass rank 10? Surely if it was 100% luck based then you'd have them reaching different random ranks each season.

You also have to have an above 50% winrate against players of the same or better skill. If the game was 100% rng you would lose 50% and win 50% and never reach legend.

I found it effective to make a deck that revolved around charge minions that go face. Use the free spells for tempo.
Managed to win a close game against a rogue as shaman: Reckless Rocketeer + Ancestral Spirit -> went face and used free Lightbomb -> went face again and used Reincarnate -> went face again, used coins from opponent's Trade Prince Gallywix and played a Wolfrider (I also had a second Reincarnate).
I didn't realize what Bolf was for until I saw the entire combo in Kripp's hand. Pretty fun and clever combo.
He could've used Violet Illusionist instead, which would be so much smarter. (2 copies in deck and cheaper)
Yup. Style points for using Bolf though. The card that made getting a legendary in your TGT packs feel a little less special.

I would love it if they replaced the part time single game tavern brawl with a permanent tavern, with a range of brawls available all the time.
I subscribed when he played path of exile. I only played hearthstone for maybe half a year, but still watch his videos every day.

I made the decks mostly with spell damage minions. Worked nicely especially when I managed to get swipe.

I played "Astral Communion" druid, with giant minions, and found it pretty inconsistent, but hilarious to play. (Its win condition is "zero mana Call of the Wild".) Then I tried a low-cost minion buff Paladin - loads of one-drops, two-drops, divine shields and buffs - and found it a lot more consistent, but not as exciting. Definitely has a hugher win-rate though.
A bunch of one and two drops with a warlock did the trick for me.
Weirdly crazy value with drawing into a bunch of low cost spells. :P
The added mana cost to Call of The Wild was bigger nerf than we expected.

As a relatively new hearthstone player, that soulpriest + ramshield + tree of life made me happy
I totally get Kripp's salt in that second game - I hate losing to people that you clearly have more skill than, when you get ridiculously bad luck (I think Kripp ended up getting what, 5-7 useless spells all up?).
It's amazing seeing Kripp playing brawls he's so happy :3

kripp the 35 legendary deck gets a nice bit of balance from this brawl! would recommend.
4 Mana minions are the real deal. Evolved Kobold seems amazing.
I mean, you get Swipe, Fireball, Mortal Strike, Polymorph and more.
Sadly, you might also get astral communism, blade flurry and some others.

Why use Bolf over Violet Illusionist? Its cheaper and you can put 2 in the deck.
I don't know why people keep complaining about Flamewaker in this brawl. Yes, it's insanely powerful, the most impactful card for the brawl, but in this format the tempo swings are very significant and cannot be determined by a single minion. Play around it. Expect it. Have some fun c:

I battled some asian guy on an NA server with net deck pirate warrior. He then manages to duplicate frothing berserker. I've never been so salty

That game against the mage with spells in his deck was hilarious. Kripp is totally losing it.
Try this ridiculous mage deck if you still have time before the fun ends:
2x arcane anomoly
2x elven archer
2x mana wyrm
2x voodoo doctor
2x loot hoarder
2x novice engineer
2x wild pyromancer
2x acolyte of pain
2x gnomish inventor
2x violet teacher
2x azure drake
2x djinni of zephyrs
2x red mana wyrm
2x gadgetzan auctioneer
2x arcane giant
I've had people conceed on turn 2 after I get coin and drop 2x mana wyrm followed by getting some nice minion buff spells and ending up with a 7-4 and a 4-4 or something like that on turn 1. The draw cards are doubly bullshit in this tavern brawl because milling minions just give you double the spells you'd get otherwise. Haven't lost yet, only decks that came close were control + taunt decks, but they've always just run out of answers at some point.
How does this combo work? Why is tree of life 30hp when that mage has only 2hp missing? It says restore to full HP, not restore 30HP
I wasn't arguing about linguistics, but about logic. But if you want linguistics, text clearly says restore TO full health. Not restore full health, not restore missing, not restore 30hp.
TO implies a starting point. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, because starting point is always different. But upper limit is well defined: full health. You cannot heal more than full health, because if would break the text, because it would have healed to more than full health. And in this case healing 30 is healing to more than full health, which is breaking the text.
Btw, you cannot heal 30hp, because for that to happen, one of heroes must be already dead. This combo breaks in at least two ways...

I'm tired of Brawls that have anything to do with free spells. All the nurds are just gonna spam tempo mage with Flamewanker anyway.
I don't get your logic behind saying these tavern brawls are "excellent".
This tavern brawl- hope your deck is good and hope you don't play as a bad hero.
Last tavern brawl- go first and play some broken legendary on turn 3 and out tempo them and while you're at it, play 4 patches on turn one.
The tavern brawl before that- Die on turn 1. Wow so interactive, you don't even get a turn.
The tavern brawl before that- Play tempo Mage or lose.
The tavern brawl before that- Play a tempo deck with crazed alchemist and cookie chemist.
The tavern brawl before that- Play 6 unplayable bosses. Or play the white king or sea naga witch or the warrior hero.
So which tavern brawl was your favourite? I'd have to go with dying before turn 1 because that's giving us the taste of the future
