Whenever anyone go for the *Taxi* riddim in the dance, this one I draw for. Or Earl Sixteen's *No Mash Up The Dance* which is based on this one even though Earl recorded his cut for Studio One in the early eighties. No disrespect to Sly and Robbie's immortal cut, everyone plays and knows that one.
Prophesy is the original. Bass player was fillies rythmn guitar was earl China smith The entire soul syndicate band from Greenwich farm played. The horn section was Bobby Ellis Tommy McCook and I don't recall the trombonist. It was done at Joe Gibbs studio the first and only time I ever used it.Blakka Morrell asked me for a chance to record the song with Littleroy and I agreed. Such was the love and sharing in those days. The year was 1970 and I was doing a session with the great Alton Ellis
Yes Sir! Draw for the original...Top foundation tune from the Tafari prod team. Heavy rhythm from the Soul Syndicate, Little Roy rides the rhythm well...

But wait! Isn't this Sly & Robbie's signature riddim? Cos if this date is accurate, it dates back from before S&R.
