You look super in those colours! Isn't it fab how putting on something bright can change your perspective! I have a skirt in rifle paper co. that never fails to cheer me up!
I really enjoyed this video. I would like to learn more about various types of rayon fabrics and more drapey fabrics good for blouses and dresses and the pros and cons of them. Thanks so much!
Fabulous vlog, so helpful and simplified. I’d love to see more discussing other fabrics. Winning formula showing me made examples. Thanks for all you are doing for the sewing community. Melissa
Thank you so much for your video I know there is different stretch fabric. It's can be very confusing 😂 especially when it comes to certain patterns. It's good to get some sort of idea of what you can make.
Brilliant thanks so much. I have definitely made the mistake of confusing jersey and stretch cotton but you don’t make the mistake twice. Lovely fabrics as always
Thank you for the video. I have always wanted to use stretch cotton but being new to sewing, I've always been afraid. Likewise, I've never used jersey or ponte. I've used cotton and I'm currently using challis. Once I've used the material I have, I'm going to look at buying some stretch cotton if I can find it at a good price. Your videos are always very informative and I thank you for posting.
Very informative video. I just wish the photos you spoke about were posted for just a few seconds longer because they seemed to just be flashed on the screen too quickly and you were still talking about some of the photos with no photo to look at so that would take future improvements. Loved how you showed the stretch of your fabrics. Thank You!
Super duper helpful!! Thanks! I am confused about different weights of woven fabrics so that would be helpful as a video. Also, do you use a regular universal needle for stretch cotton? Thanks👏👏👏
This is absolutely brilliant.Really informative but easy to understand. With stretch cotton what needle and stitch with my sewing machine would I use. Also could you give detail on viscose.Loved this.
Thanks Sheona, really useful video. I love the look of the Elisalex Dress you mentioned, do you think it would work in the Hermosa Rose stretch cotton? Thanks
Hi, I was wondering, would you stitch stretch cotton fabric with a regular straight stitch? I know you use a small zig-zag on a stretch jersey fabric, but I'm assuming a regular straight stitch is OK for stretch cotton, am I right? ( as it doesn't need to stretch at the seams!) I'm using a regular home sewing machine, btw, not an overlocker...
Great question! Yes you’re correct a normal straight stitch will be fine, you can make it slightly longer if your standard is very short just to give it a bit more give ❤️
@@Sewisfaction Brilliant! Thanks for your reply. I have thought about sewing with stretch cotton, but never been sure what stitch to use, but now I know! Love your channel! 😁
pinsandneedles x Hi! I made the Ultimate Trousers in a stretch cotton sateen, have been wearing them for 3 years and they haven’t stretched at all! They’re my favourite pants :) I’d love to try the Jalie too :)
Yes all the stretch cottons on our website have 20% Stretch. Feel free to email info@sewisfaction.co.uk if there’s one in particular you want to check ❤️
At 16:30, you explained the difference between a stretch cotton and a cotton jersey very well!
What a great idea. There is so much to know about fabric. Choosing to focus on one kind per video makes the information so much easier to remember.

It shouldn’t do no!
Can we wear stretchable cotton in winters?
how hard is it to sew with a stretch cotton 58% viscore 40% and sateen , 2 % elastane
Do you have any 20% stretch cotton to use for Jalie pull on jeans?
Yes all the stretch cottons on our website have 20% Stretch. Feel free to email info@sewisfaction.co.uk if there’s one in particular you want to check ❤️
May I ask if 100% cotton fabric has stretched?
Please which fabric would one use to make leggings
