7:37 The mental picture of Crazy Steve just throwing yellow painted children at a very confused Hal Jordan entered my head and I can’t help but find it hilarious.
Fun fact: Lorenzo Music voiced Peter Venkman (Bill Murray's character in the film) in The Real Ghostbusters, originally, but is most well known for his portrayal of Garfield in the TV specials and cartoon series. In turn, when they made live-action adaptations of Garfield (complete with god-awful CGI), they tapped Bill Murray to play the famous cat (who apparently agreed because he thought the first film was written by Joel Coen, of the Coen Brothers, rather than Joel Cohen, whoops).
The Real Ghosbusters do acknowledge the events of the first 2 movies and even the movies themselves as canon. Citizen Ghost explores the aftermath of Gozer. Partners in Slime acknowledged Vigo (probably taking place after this comic and placing it between Real Ghostbusters and Slimer! & the Real Ghostbusters) and in Extreme Ghostbusters "Back in the Saddle" Venkman says he's pitched an idea for a third movie, but is holding out for Brad Pitt to play him.
If I remember correctly, the 2009(?) Ghostbusters video game makes it clear that ghost activity increases in response to the appearance of a powerful mystical/cosmic being. May have to check that though.
The rise in activity in the video game was directly attributed to the reappearance of Gozer, whose reappearance was triggered by the psychokinetic shockwave at the museum. That shockwave was triggered when Dr. Selwyn came into contact with the Gozerian artifacts at the museum due to her connection to Ivo Shandor.
"I call bullcrap, where's the rapping dog?!" BAHAHAHA, that reference had me rolling! xD God I love your show, just the thing to help after a bad day :)
Regarding the "blatant sex joke in a children's comic"-comment: Have you ever seen the scene of Rocko's Modern Life where Heffer gets "milked", or the scene in Animaniacs where they make a pun about finger prints/Prince, or... Well, to cut it short: there are a *lot* of innuendos or "obvious" sex jokes in good kids media that goes over children's heads.
Well, stuff like "Finger Prints" is a VERY subtle pun, same as just noises made from being milked. This one comes right out and says, "Are you having sex with some slime?"
i know you're not that big fan of kamen rider, but if you one day do a kamen rider show review, might i suggest kamen rider fourze, its space themed and is a fairly good show and it could tie in to you getting your ship back!
@@AT4W 🤷🏼♂️ I dunno, I have a feeling that any kid who knows what "sleeping with" means probably also caught the "fingerprints" joke, especially after Dot's "I don't think so" response.
Oh, god, the articulated skull jaw! Matching that to the "Ah!" gasp was probably the scariest part of the video. I know you do these things on a tight budget so a lot of things are going to look like cheap props - Pollo, the Ghostbusters gear, the Pokeball. It comes with the territory and I completely understand it. When I first saw the skull creature, that it looked like a cheap Halloween mask and a robe. Not when it opened its mouth, however. That took that thing from looking like a costume to actually scary. Nicely done!
Came back to this review after watching “Ghostbusters After Life”. They nailed the fact that Ray is still maintaining his shop. With the big twist that Winston is now taking a Bigger role with in the franchise! Even better, I’m looking forward to seeing more of Winston pushing the Ghostbusters as an Interprise to bust ghosts! Especially if they can do it around the world!
You'd think Cartoon Peter would be more concerned with becoming a good Father figure, considering his strained relationship with his own Father, the recidivist conman.
15:20 This made me think of one of my favourite reveals of Ghostbusters Afterlife and why I hope there will be a sequel: Winston has become a successful and wealthy businessman, and it's teased that he now wants to use his wealth to fund the new generation of Ghostbusters. I just thought that was a neat development for his character, who joined the team as the only guy without a doctorate and just a normal, down to earth working class dude who was looking for a job.
Well thanks for reminding me of that bloody smile in the bathtub! Seeing it on TV once and not knowing what movie it was from, I was quite honestly terrified of it as a kid. Lord, it still manages to send a shiver down my spine. Ugh. I also remember remembering it as red and resembling a dolphin to me. Imagine being afraid of a dolphin made of blood attacking you every time you're filling a tub.
Didn't think that a comic adaptation of Ghostbusters II would be involved but with The Real Ghostbusters. Okay, I like it. And they should have added the line when the Ghostbusters met the Mayor with Ray saying, "Mr. Mayor. We're here tonight because a psychomagnotheric slime flow of immense proportions is building up beneath the city." Ghostbusters II is very underrated... most underrated sequel ever. For what it's worth, it's very well done.
The subway tunnel they find the river of slime in was based on a real prototype system built in the late 1860s by a man named Alfred Beach. It ran a block under broadway across from City Hall and used pneumatic power to move the train car. Imagine a giant sized version of those canisters they use at bank driveThrus Sadly it never got expanded into a full system, was closed after only running a few years and ended being demolished in 1913 to build the current R train City Hall station.
Of all the Ghostbusters characters Peter was always my favorite, probably because of his dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Which makes some of the character butchering in this comic a real shame because the cartoon and its comic did A LOT to develop Peter's character and explain why he is the way he is. It goes into his history with Ray and Egon, he and Egon were actually the first GBs to meet, his softer side for little kids and old women, his relationship with Slimer, and his difficult relationship with his deadbeat, con-artist father. Oh and another thing revealed in the comics, he and Dana don't end up together, even after this film. It's explained in the IDW comics that Peter's career as a GB put him in the public eye and that put pressure the his and Dana's relationship. Eventually, he decided that his didn't want both Dana and Oscar to have deal with his high-stress life and ended the relationship. He still sorta stayed in Oscar's life though, occasionally sending him postcards and gifts.
Same here. They're both great movies. Also, everytime I see the name Yanosh Poha, it cracks me up. I'm brazilian and "Poha" is pronounced the same as "porra" in portuguese, which means jizz. Couldn't they give him a better name than jizz?
Totally with you on Ghostbusters II and I'm the leader for one of the New York chapters of Ghostbusters International. You have our support and if you'll accept, an honorary membership in our next campaign, lol .
In Pokemon red and blue, one of the sprites Missingno could take was a Kabutobs Skeleton. Linkara once stated this was what he saw when he first did the Missingno glitch in his game. This creature shows up, skull faced and with huge scythe blades for hands. So I'm calling that this is Missingno. or what's left of it after it "died"
Honestly I wouldn't mind if Ghostbusters II, the comic anyway, was set as a sort of series finale. We get the first movie as a starting point for the tv series (since it acknowledges the events of the first film) and you get the second movie to sort of book end the entire story
But that makes no sense since Hauntings were happening on a regular basis in the show. You would need a time when they were not happening for this ti work
@@jfdrac true but as Linkara pointed out there are real people to this day who are in denial of things that factually happened or are real and the TV has shown that there are assholes in universe that deny the existence just like in the halloween special when someone tried to get the holiday erased and it even happened during the time skip between the series and Extreme Ghostbusters.
@@ShanaReviews Yeah not sure what I was even talking about...and lets face it Linkara's point has become even MORE TRUE since then....I dont know how often I quote the Mythbusters joke in their credits "I reject your reality and substitute my own"
I would argue that the biggest issue with Ghost Busters II would be that the movie begins with the whole town basically forgetting that the Ghost Busters friggin' saved the world in the previous movie. Like, how do you go from saviors of humanity to awkward party performers?
I will always love how Linkara consistently refutes the lazy argument of “break two movies down to the most basic versions of their plots to make them the same”
Linkara's Vigo needs to use bathroom joke is funny especially when you consider in the game during one of Vigo's random quotes, he notes to the Rookie (player character) he should have put a bathroom in this thing, referring to the painting which according to the official player's guide acts as an inter-dimensional prison for him following the events of Ghostbusters II which is why it is displayed inside the Firehouse! Also the game reinforces the idea that the painting was a self portrait! The game also has Vigo make predictions of various evils to come as the game is set in 1991 but came out in 2009, with said evils being allusions to higher gas prices, George W. Bush being elected twice, and famous athletes juicing on steroids (though thankfully they were smart enough to have him make no allusions to 9/11 attacks as that would have been as tasteless as Frank Miller's Holy Terror)!
The color change in #1 is just a mistake. In the movie, when the mood slime was positively charged it was a lighter shade of solid pink, almost white. This adaption was using one of the later scripts, which is something that always changes during production.
This new outer being. When he said it looked familiar, I started thinking how so. Of course using what the entity actually is, (spoiler, missingno) it actually has elements to what he saw when he did the Glitch. A Kabutops skeleton. Out of theorizing though, great review.
Hey, Linkara, I know this is four years too late, but this Halloween storyline is one of your best. Nice blend of light-hearted spooky fun with legitimately creepy moments. You and Viga looked like such an awesome battle couple fighting off the ghosts. If Viga does make more cameos in the future, is she going to have her own signature weapon? Perhaps a cannon that shoots pony plushies or some oversized anime sword?
It makes perfect sense that NOW Comics made a adaptation of Ghostbusters 2 featuring The Real Ghostbusters since according to the television series episode "Citizen Ghost", The Real Ghostbusters fought Zuul and Gozer, and in the episode "Take Two", the Ghostbusters movie is a dramatization of the event.
I do hate hitting the reset button in sequels, but Ghostbusters 2 is the rare occasion where it works. And I totally agree with you on the excuse for the reset button; people are stupid. I also think it's better-it's scarier, the stakes were higher, the villain is stronger, Winston is a bigger part of the plot, Peter finally gets an arc to become a better person and the romance between him and Dana is much better. Yeah, the statue of Liberty rampaging around is silly, but so is a Marshmallow Man being the form of the end of the world. The mood slime looks silly, but the idea of something causing a feedback loop of hatred is pretty scary when you actually think about it. I do prefer the Egon-Janine subplot over Louis-Janine, but it was done pretty well. It's funny-we're at total opposites about the Force Awakens but totally on the same level on Ghostbusters 2. It's almost like opinions aren't absolutes. I actually thought the 2016 reboot was...okay. It wasnt' as good as 1 or 2 but it was a fun time in the theater and a nice little tribute. I didn't hate it and it felt like a Ghostbusters movie to me. I always found it interesting that Dana wasn't as badly effected by the mood slime. I suspect being possessed by Zuul might have given her a little bit of immunity. Gonna say it: Lewis does a better Peter Venkman than Dave Coulier I hope you review more of these Ghostbusters comics as a crossover with Phelan.
15:25 Hey, if we go by the video game, taking place in 1991, Winston was most likely trying to keep up face because he was getting his own doctorate! Remember, he's a doctor in that game
Just rewatched Ghostbusters 2, and from a new perspective I can see why you'd like it better then the first. Especially since I haven't watched it for a while. Also in last year's Halloween reviews, about that monster that Erin spoke of, is that the major villain for the Sleepwalker story arc? Great to see Will Wolfgram return as Jaeris if only for another week
It is not, but if I'm reading what you're writing correctly, then congratulations! You are the FIRST person to connect the thing between dimensions and the monster Erin spoke of. And I'm not even kidding, no one else has noticed that yet. XD
What about Jeannie? She's funny, doesn't take any crap off anyone and never needs to be saved. She doesn't go out in the field but she still has some incredible lines.
That honestly could work given how the entity was made as a parallel outer god of Missing No. Since the Skeletal Kabutops was the first thing Linkara saw when he attempted the Cinnabar Island glitch, the skeletal thing could be the parallel verison.
You know, Ghostbusters II is the first movie of the pair I saw actually. It's what got me interested in Ghostbusters in general(loved the animated show as a kid and had the toys). Saw the first movie after the first, I enjoy'em both.
18:00 Missed a perfect opportunity for a Warhammer 40K reference. "Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne! Milk for the Khorne Flakes!" :P
Thank you Linkara for standing up for GB II! I wouldn't say it's better than the first but it is not a terrible flick and it gets a lot of unnecessary hate. It's better than the new film anyway!
Pollo: Remember the force Han solo : The force doesn't work like that Pollo: Don't give in to anger Yoda: Anger leads to hate, hate leads to the Darkside Fox: lol
Interesting theory! I hadn't though of that one! It's voice, mannerisms and "glitch-effect", though, reminded me more of The King of Worms, and Linkara even mentioned the Entity's "cousins and followers", so it could be either-or, considering the last thing TKoW did before it "died" was essentially mind-mild with Linkara, and that's how Spock managed to transfer his Katra to McCoy... Or, it could be an odd new hybrid of the two, seeing how the Entity was known for "absorbing things into itself", or it could even be a new, THIRD "outer God" that hasn't been introduced yet... Perhaps M-Block...?
Even though I don't like the second movie It does have one of my all time favourite movie lines: "Sometimes Shit Happens, Someone's gotta deal with it, and who you gonna call?"
Thanks to the quote at the end I've now got an alternate scene for one of your favorite Superman moments. The rescue is just a little late and Big Barta says ”Ah, ah... why am I drippings with goo” as she comes out of the hypnosis.
To be honest, I only watched the 1st one. Might try to watch the 2nd one, since there is a new Ghostbusters movie coming out around this year or the next year, 2022.
damn lewis. you sure know how to bring out the terror. i was legit frightened of the entity. so we got another one of the same group of gods on the way? this is why i told my friend to watch your show for the story on how to do tension and dread.
Vigo may appear more in the film, but he doesn’t really deliver at all for me. The only time I felt he had legitimate menace was when he possessed Ray. Other than that he tied up the heroes with rubber pipe, shocked them when they called him mean names, and held a baby….MENACINGLY! Gozer being less talkative gave more an air of mystery and made it feel like the characters were ants compared to her. Plus she turned into a giant marshmallow Kaiju. Meanwhile it just feels like Vigo is nothing but talk.
This is not to say I dislike Ghostbusters 2. I do. Honestly, I think all the GB movies are good in their own ways. GB2’s strength is its creativity especially when put up against the other films after that feel like they lean too heavily on recapturing the first film.
Y'know, if the song does exist in universe, does that mean the Ghostbusters managed to accrue enough revenue the first time to pay Ray Jay Parker to write and perform an advertising jingle?
I've felt the same way about liking Ghostbusters 2 more than the original but have never been able to articulate it before. The arguments for it in the introduction were great.
I'm not so sure Venkman was entirely skeptical he did have a Ph.D in Parapsychology but he probably was a bit more skeptical compared to Egon and Stantz who followed every wacky lead on reported paranormal phenomenon.
I agree with your reasoning for Ghostbusters II being the better movie, especially with regards to Vigo. I watched the first film a couple of times as a kid, yet I couldn't remember Gozer from back then. I watched the second film once as a kid, and I was able to remember Vigo no problem thanks to his ominous presence throughout the whole film. It's a bit of a shame that so many people have arbitrarily gone out of their way to insist that it's a horrible film when really, they couldn't be farther from the truth.
A few things. 1: WHOOOO JAERIS IS BACK!!! XD HELL YEAH! 2: The creature (The Familiar? I can't recall if it's been identified yet) looks awesome, nice work on the effects both CG and practical dude. 3: So I wonder what The Mobile Emitter will be used for this time (and if it will have Holokara go psycho again) 4: Soggies May Rule.
Hmm, the creature at 45:00 looks an awful lot like the creature spoke of during the Nightmares on Elm Street #5-6 episode. I wonder if they're the same creature, or related somehow.
Dan Aykroyd in real life milking his classics, Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers, for all their worth and seeming sad as pathetic means he's basically Ray from the start of the movie.
This was Trutly a GRAND review fitting for Halloween day to land on your day of all places. Now let's see how DOUG fares with HIS turn this year...*Halloween on a Tuesday*
So Louis, are we ever going to see anything in the AT4W storylines that sees your Character, Linkara, and Viga form a relationship to align with your relationship with Viga now?
Daniel Eggers I was thinking see gets training from Linksano in the ways of SCIENCE!!! Because hey, if she's going to be part of Linkara's team, she might want to gain some skills.
KidSnivy69 We all do. Made me wonder why did Lorenzo left. And I know Phelous did a retrospective on it and I hated how the show went downhill. Fuck Standards and practices.
"Some have decried the fact that in five years, everybody has forgotten about the first movie, or believe them to be frauds despite everything that happened. To that I say Chemtrails, 9/11 Truthers, the Grassy Knoll, 'We never landed on the moon,' the Beatles put backwards talking Satanic messages in their music, and Flat Earthers. People are morons and will believe anything is fake even when presented with evidence to the contrary." So, I guess there's a bit of a reason for why writers like to use these tropes: 1. Arbitrary Skepticism - A character in a world where strange things happened finds it difficult to believe in another strange thing. 2. Flat Earth Atheist - In a world where it is proven on many levels that gods exist and personally created the cosmos, a couple people will flat-out disbelieve these facts. Personally, I've found both of these tropes to be annoying and stupid. I mean, I could understand a little skepticism if it wasn't an everyday thing and they were seeing these strange and supernatural things for the first time, but when they see it ALL the time and STILL don't believe, then it gets ridiculous. But considering what you pointed out, I guess it's not so far fetched, but I still think it's stupid.
RexBlazer1 abitrary skeptism- personally seems justifiable for the most part when such strangeness of the character's own world is the norm, and any deviations do count as something strange to them. are you going to tell everyone that they're going to die tomorrow and there's nothing they can do but wait for the hero to solve it? what does that accomplish? flat-earth athiest- alot of people stubbornly refuse to believe a truth, sometimes moralistically or other reasons. It's not important to convince everyone that ghosts are haunting NY because what do you do after that, they can't do anything about the ghosts except pray for the Ghostbusters to stop them. such a feeling of helplessness and a lack of control of the situation is disparing, and could even cause mass panic.
gozer did't summon stay puft, he is the giant stay puft at the end. he had the ghostbuster choose its new form (it changes each time he visits earth, the weird woman was just his previous form before the new decision) and ray unwittingly chose stay puft.
Please do the Power Rangers comic series Linkara at some point. And also, Power Rangers/Justice League crossover coming January. Tell us what you think.
Excellent points on Ghostbusters 2. I still consider the first movie the superior film, but I've never felt 2 was a bad one. And I've never gotten the hate for it. It's an opinion I tend to write off as something hipster. Nice to see someone defend it for once.

*Statue of Liberty looks down into the musem*
I AM DISSAPOINTED, VIGO. VERY DISSAPOINTED.
Well, that's quite the controversial statement. He-Man does too have a phone! He even uses it to call Skeletor in one episode!
The Statue of Libery mech is awesome, but I’ll never understand how it suddenly grew aposable joints
I like to believe Winston was busy getting his doctorate at the time they weren’t working like in the IDW continuity.
Ah come on Linkara, you forgot the best quote. "Viggy, Viggy, Viggy! You've been a bad monkey!"
I like the idea of Positively charged Slime being pink, while Negatively charged Slime is green.
So Slimer is made up of negative energy?
KidSnivy69
Ask Dr. Venkman, he'd likely say yes. ;)
*****
I can see that
The color change in #1 is just a mistake.
HOLY Shhhhit! Jaeris!
Isaac Espensen Yes! it's great seeing him again!
22:36 Blimey!! I didn't expect such Spanish Inquisition
(Looks over the door)
I remember seeing GB 2 in the theater as a kid, and being scared at some scenes.
Fun fact the 100th episode of the real ghostbusters actually takes place right after the 2nd film.
Gonna say it: Lewis does a better Peter Venkman than Dave Coulier
I hope you review more of these Ghostbusters comics as a crossover with Phelan.
15:25 Hey, if we go by the video game, taking place in 1991, Winston was most likely trying to keep up face because he was getting his own doctorate! Remember, he's a doctor in that game
I love GB2 as well. In the UK we had 193 issues of a Marvel RGB comic as well as four annuals and a few spin offs.
XD
Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall
Wow, What can I say but "I like to pay attention to what I'm watching."
Thanks Man
Man you are a smart guy!
The 2nd film is over 25 years old. Things were different back them friend.
What about Jeannie? She's funny, doesn't take any crap off anyone and never needs to be saved. She doesn't go out in the field but she still has some incredible lines.
So, entity in skeletal Kabutops form that Linkara mentioned way back when. Anyone else agree?
That makes a lot of sense.
That was honestly my first thought when it turned. Mainly because of, you know, the scythe hands?
That honestly could work given how the entity was made as a parallel outer god of Missing No. Since the Skeletal Kabutops was the first thing Linkara saw when he attempted the Cinnabar Island glitch, the skeletal thing could be the parallel verison.
m'lady
most likely now with the recent episode
"I sat on my car keys once..." Oh my god xD The timing, that face, the delivery, I laughed out loud!
My life is enriched knowing about that court case. Thank you.
I never really cared for Dave Coulier's Veinkman. He just was never as quick to the punchline as Bill Murray was.
Why do I imagine Dave Cooliay's (however you spell that) voice in this comic book and I've never seen the show only a few reviews?
Because Coulier!Venkman is just that memorably awful.
When the skull monster moved its jaw saying, "Their... you... are"... man you are so good at building suspense.
Thank you Linkara for standing up for GB II! I wouldn't say it's better than the first but it is not a terrible flick and it gets a lot of unnecessary hate. It's better than the new film anyway!
Pollo: Remember the force
Han solo : The force doesn't work like that
Pollo: Don't give in to anger
Yoda: Anger leads to hate, hate leads to the Darkside
Fox: lol
"Revenge is a mailslot."
BAHAHAHA
8:39 Thank you, Linkara.
Wait a minute> Blades for hands? A hunched posture? Skeletal face? OH MY GOD! IT'S SKULL KABUTOPS!
Yay! I'm not alone in this!
My first thought as well! Entity in a new form confirmed!
...Now is it a Sleepwalker, or...?
ME TOO! :D
Oh, now a hybrid would be downright cool! Missing No's absorption mixed with the King of Worm's mind control powers...oh please let this be a thing!
About time somebody gave a positive shout to GBII. Good stuff.
A wild Will Wolfgram appears, yippee ^_^
Alternatively: A wild Will Wolfgram waddles westward through the wistful wilderness of Wonderland.
Oh man, I can't wait to learn more about the Skeleton dude. His design is really cool, and the way he talks is real chilling.
Lorenzo music is perfect as peater better than bill Murray change my mind
Later than usual, but still the highlight of my day.
Ironically, i'll quote Ghostbusters 2 to answer this,
"Better late than never".
3: So I wonder what The Mobile Emitter will be used for this time (and if it will have Holokara go psycho again)
4: Soggies May Rule.
One of my favorite Halloween arcs you've ever done
When Peter says the 'let me guess, all you can eat...', they have drawn the alternate version that was filmed and not used. That was pretty cool.
Oh man, it was so good to see jaeris' cameo at the end of the review. I'm glad to see him back even though it'll probably be for a short time
So Louis, are we ever going to see anything in the AT4W storylines that sees your Character, Linkara, and Viga form a relationship to align with your relationship with Viga now?
adam favuzzi well in a mail episode they got pink insanio goggles, maybe linksaino makes a clone of viga?
Daniel Eggers I was thinking see gets training from Linksano in the ways of SCIENCE!!! Because hey, if she's going to be part of Linkara's team, she might want to gain some skills.
adam favuzzi well she did say she had all the stuff for the proton packs,
6:24
Ugh, this adaptation has Dave Coulier's Peter Venkman. Pass!
I prefer the earlier seasons aka the late Lorenzo Music's voice.
Caz you mean vanko the clown 😉
Everybody prefers Lorenzo.
FUCK I HATE DAVE COULIER VENKMEN! I HATE DAVE COULIER VENKMEN! I HATE DAVE COULIER...
People are morons and will believe anything is fake even when presented with evidence to the contrary."
So, I guess there's a bit of a reason for why writers like to use these tropes:
I was going to type a comment basically saying how I thought that plot element was still stupid but you did perfectly.
But let's not forget, Tropes Are Not Bad.
RexBlazer1
abitrary skeptism- personally seems justifiable for the most part when such strangeness of the character's own world is the norm, and any deviations do count as something strange to them.
are you going to tell everyone that they're going to die tomorrow and there's nothing they can do but wait for the hero to solve it? what does that accomplish?
flat-earth athiest- alot of people stubbornly refuse to believe a truth, sometimes moralistically or other reasons. It's not important to convince everyone that ghosts are haunting NY because what do you do after that, they can't do anything about the ghosts except pray for the Ghostbusters to stop them. such a feeling of helplessness and a lack of control of the situation is disparing, and could even cause mass panic.
docdave15 Thank you.
Khaine's Lair
Let's hope not.
best line: I've never had a gun that didn't kill before I'm not used to this
gozer did't summon stay puft, he is the giant stay puft at the end. he had the ghostbuster choose its new form (it changes each time he visits earth, the weird woman was just his previous form before the new decision) and ray unwittingly chose stay puft.
I assumed the slime being green was a lighting thing.
I love Ghostbesters movies 1 & 2.
So, the Mood Slime is one of the Gentry from the Multiversity?
So why isn't toothless and hiccup helping the ghostbusters i mean they could come as ghosts since they did live in the viking age
