Thank you for sharing this marvelous journey, Derek. I am 73 and arthritic, so I can't walk Ireland in the way you have, but you inspire me to do it in my way. We all have suffered and live with loss. It is part of life, but you have transformed your grief and confusion into something beautiful that will touch and heal many people. Bravo!
hi Bevklayman, i just wanted to say what a lovely "Comment" - you must be a wonderful example of a human being! grateful for yr words and sense of being. blessings of Love ✨ Maire MacGregor
Your pilgrimage meditations on historic lives, your parents, gestures of hospitality, farm animals, and most profoundly, nature and faith is authentic and life-giving. Keep up the search. Are you okay in the present? Then carry on! I am touched by your deep soul.
Derek, I’m an American (living in FL) who’s moving to Ireland at the end of the year (Co. Clare). This was food for the soul and a tremendous encouragement to go live out my dreams in the country that’s always tugged at my heartstrings. ❤❤❤ Thank you for your artistry; you always pick beautiful music. Wouldn’t it be lovely if, someday, I meet you along the Wild Atlantic Way!
Amazing documentary, gonna watch the whole journey now. I'm 26 and stuck in Dublin my whole life, I really want to do stuff like this and see all the beauty our country has to offer first hand, this was very inspirational thanks for sharing and being a beacon of positivity
HELLO YOU dear Derek.......that was a very emotional video for me......I have tears in my eyes.....I am 64 and I sing my special song since 2016...................2014 my husband died,2 years of deeo mourning and than I was the first time in Ireland and from this day on thats my song.............often as I can I am traveling through Ireland...........................Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video of your journey. I'm an American of German/French/Norwegian/Polish decent. Only my Norwegian maternal grandfather (who i never met) was straight from Norway..the rest were a couple generations further away. I only ever knew my father's mother and that was for a short period. Point being that I've never had a feeling here of truly belonging. If there were any family rituals/traditions, they were lost/disgarded before I was born. But as I watch you here talking about Ireland's history, I'm reminded of the past life memories that came to me in a hypnosis session I had years ago. I lived on the Emerald Isle, on the south eastern side. It was a happy, simple life. Long skirts and bare feet in summer. I get such a feeling of homesickness and joy watching this. Thank you 🙏💚
A terrific account of one life on the move on foot across Ireland. Always honest, vulnerable and above all compelling. This is Derek’s account of discovering his own place in the world in the light of the challenging personal circumstances that will cross all our paths sooner or later. That’s why we can all relate to this physical journey. We find ourselves within his dialogue and common shared experience. A must watch.
Great film Derek. I love how you reference your parents passing and meaning in what we do. Today would have been my mam's 65th bday (Liz Fitzsimons, from Killakee Walk) she went on her cosmic vacation vacation just over a month ago. So, your video has definitely plucked some heart strings.
Derek Cullen, Wow!! Walking Ireland Documentary :"A Journey for the Soul ," is truly so Beautiful, genuine, honest Absolutely for the Soul! Superb Documentary ! You are so Inspirational! Your mantra : "Head Good, Body Good, Mind Good Feet Good, All Good!" Such powerful words!❤ Amazing. This can help so many people and should be watched on TV. Best wishes with your Soul Searching ,epic incredible Journeys ! Derek Cullen ! Amazing! Derek .❤
A brilliant watch. Just watching it from the car outside my office in noisy Dublin city on my break gives me peace and takes me away from the noise and into our countryside. Kudos to you for taking the opportunity to sing ur song Derek. As soon as my kids are old enough to mind themselves I'm off to sing my song 😆
This is perhaps one of the nices documentaries I have seen in a while. You have a wonderful soul. Not very often one finds themselves to be right where they should be. I to am in the perfect place in time every moment. You are blessed and so am I. Loves from 🇺🇸
Derek what an inspiration you are to all of us who watched this beautiful video! The commentary was incredible ,you are so knowledgable! Keep on living and doing what you love. See you in the Mournes someday ❤
Tom Crean one of Irelands greatest explorers. The beer is no longer being brewed but was delicious. One tough explorer who overcame impossible odds to survive but finally died from poor healthcare available at the time. He should have been treasured and immortalized.
Thank you Derek, I just loved, loved, loved your "Walking Ireland Documentary: A Journey for the Soul". It moved me so much. From your singing Raglan Road (and singing to cows along the way!) to reciting Brendan Kenneally's poem Begin, to the fabulous music chosen as a back-drop to your videos, this documentary was just magical. You are so gifted at making fabulous videos. But the heart of the documentary is YOU, you walking the backroads and hills of our gorgeous country, in all weathers (as is normal for Ireland!); you, talking to us as you journey, being open and honest as few seldom are; your kindness to animals and sheer delight in visiting villages and small towns. I was delighted with all the local history stories, Tom Crean etc - your stories were extremely interesting and I learnt so much. Your message from Bettina was very powerful. And, SuperValu Kay giving you a hug and paying for your shopping, shows again how much we all benefiting from your videos and how much you have touched our souls. As Bettina advised: "make sure you sing your song", Derek. With love and thanks.
This was a fantastic watch, Derek. Have followed your journey on YT and loved every minute of it. Looking forward to the next adventure. Keep up the great work and excellent content!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Derek… you are an amazing soul! my Da used to sing raglan road to me. What a beautiful soul you are. This was the best thing I have watched in months. I am an Irish girl from Boston, but Ireland feels like home. This the best hour and a half that I have spent in a very long time.
I can’t remember when I have enjoyed a documentary as much as this one. My husband and I are retired travelers and Ireland has a special place in our hearts. I will be recommending your adventure and commentary to my family and friends.
Started watching when somebody sent me a link to your Ennistymon video and watched all, even went back a little to before NW Clare. I plan to watch this full doc with my wife, thank you for sharing. My mom is from Ennistymon and I go visit a couple times per year.
Ennistymon is lovely and so too are the people there. I really mean that about the people. Thank you for watching and and hope that you and your wife find something in the documentary 🙏
My parents both come from Ireland and left Ireland at very young age because of the widespread poverty they saw so much hunger and starvation during the great depression and never returned.
I have greatly enjoyed Derek’s journey. It reminds us to pay attention, slow down and appreciate the moment. In addition he reveals to us his great love of Ireland. It is soul nourishing and calming. A real delight.
Hello Derek I really like to see you show me my once loved country of which I no longer live but I did all of the country work as a youngster as a farmers son
Hello dear Derek! I'm Sylvia from Greece. Your documentary is lovely! Although my lifestyle is completely the opposite of yours.. I watch your videos with great pleasure because there's always a symbolic story in every path you take. I also like Ireland, I wish I'll be able to visit the country sometime and I like the fact that you show us the "real Ireland" as you called it in your story! Stay strong and keep on inspiring ! 🙏❤
Ireland is in a weird place right now, yet it is still quite beautiful. It still has the essence of the old world but also the convenience and safety of modernity.
Hi there! Yes I agree. I do not want to fan the flames with my videos but there are many times in which I point to this “weirdness”. For instance, my comment about the post offices closing down and my mention of how Michael Collins, Tom crean and st finbar made Ireland “a great country in the past” was a nod to how Ireland is losing its way and some things are not changing for the better. But I do believe there is a way back and the light will return in that sense, thank you for watching 🙏
Recently I was considering a hiking trip to Ireland and started to research the country. I knew very little about the wild land that was there. Upon researching I came across countless trails, many over 50 miles. There were so many trails that it did my head in and instead found a flight from Cornwall UK to hike the coastal trail there. It was my first time in both countries and to my surprise both are amazing hiking and camping countries. Most Americans, where I come from, view the British Isles as urban and densely populated, which they are to some degree, but they also contain a wealth of natural wonders as this documentary shows. Thanks for the amazing information and filming. Next time I go back to Ireland I will definitely have a better lay of the land.
Fair play to you billy. There are many decent trails in Ireland. I would advise you avoid “The Ireland way” which I did not find so enjoyable and perhaps consider the E8 coast to coast trail. My pleasure with the video and thank you for the kind words 🙏
"..I'm good for the environment.." yes you are Derek Cullen. This is just a wonderful piece of work. I really really respect and admire your way and how you share that with us. There's something a bit special and beautiful about you and all of this. When I can support you financially, I will. Meanwhile I thank you deeply and I've shared your video l,r and centre. Le méas mór 🙏🎶✨
I am a first time viewer of your work and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video!! There were so many surprises. Especially loved your singing. So unexpected and lovely. The scenery was stunning. Loved your depth of your sharing. Appreciated all the work that went into the making of this stunning video. Thank you!
Happy to hear you enjoyed the singing because the cows don’t always like it so much! Welcome to my channel and I hope that you will stick around for my upcoming walks this years 🙏
Hello you! 😉 Oh Derek! What a fantastic compilation of your walk and reminder. Full of beauty, humour, wisdom and information. I just loved every second of it. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish for you to find and keep peace, prosperity and much love. Keep doing what your doing because you do it all so well. Bravo and encore. Still think you should visit Scotland. 😉
Derek I really love your very real videos all over Ireland capturing the sheer beauty and all the wonderful people u meet along the way including the sheep cows horses and dogs. I’m homesick but will be home in March and thanks again for all your brilliant filming and feedback
What an incredible video!!! Thank you for taking us on the long walk with you. Beautiful scenery and so much information I knew nothing about. It was a perfect ending! Beautiful! Thank you! I wish you much happiness in your life - May the Lord bless you always..

Interesting, informative, educational, touching, spiritual, humorous, creative, original, well crafted. I really enjoyed the concept and the content. This documentary, shot on the byways and in cities, towns and villages, shows the REAL Ireland. A treat for the eyes, mind, spirit and feet. Well done and thanks! Looking forward to your next video/journey. Happy trails!

Hi Derek. An amazingly narriated and well put together video of your journey on our island. I've traveled around our country in my camper van and appreciate the energy you put in to walk the journey. You are a truly beautiful soul and I wish you all God's blessing on your future journeys in life.
Loved watching this journey and series through and through. Top tier wholesome content. It was always such a treat to watch the episodes upon each release. I’ll be returning to Ireland for several weeks after studying abroad there in 2021. I’ve thought of that time nearly every day since and can’t wait to return. I dream of moving there someday (though getting hired over there can be difficult). Thank you Derek for all the hard work making these videos
Great video Derek. Loved every minute especially the connemara part. Breathtaking scenery.. Loved all the michael Collins history too. Keep up the good work
I wish you well as always derek , maybe our own ppl will stand up & stick together , our country lands are just as important as a city . No farmers no food . We live on one island , & you all need to support us country ppl , we live simplest ways , care for our fisheries forestries farmers & land . Ive been following you on your travels , amazing but we had all this on our doorstep , everyone ignored too busy , distracted with city life .
Thank you Derek, really enjoyed this well made & informative doco. I hope to one day visit Ireland. But as much as I enjoy walking & camping I could never do it in the harsh conditions as you do! Well done! 👏💚🙏🌻
Wow! Wow! Wow! Absolutely amazing documentary, so inspiring & truly magical, it was really well put together. The music was beautiful, well done Derek, looking forward to watching more of your videos. I've been following you for a few years & always enjoy the content of your videos.
Great stuff Derek. Everything about your video was inspiring including the music. How fitting was it that you got a rainbow at the end of your walk and clear views over Mayo./Clew Bay/Atlantic Ocean. Thank you.
Thank you for being here as always Mary. It was darkness and rain all the way to the summit at which point the blue sky appeared. I did think it was meant to be and perhaps one of the many signs I had received from a higher power on this particular journey 🙏
Hey Derek- I loved this, skillfully done. It was moving and inspirational as well as light hearted at the right times. Also on another note I received my plaque at Christmas … thank you! Head good …… All good ! Sean 👍
There is a certain frisson of excitement to open TH-cam look at your subscribed to creators and see that Derek has a new video up!. There was a volley of them recently with his latest walk around Ireland and it was terrific to watch and listen to. This film patches up many moments from these videos along with extra narration and is a good summation of the whole walk. Always looking forward to the next one. Thanks Derek
Hi Derek, I started watching your journey on facebook more than halfway after the start and really love this compilation. Now I can watch the whole journey from the start. I admire your spirit and love the views and thoughts coming along during the walk. May I compliment you also with the choice of music with this documentary, very well fitted and moving. Thank you for this. I visited Connemara, Galway and Mayo many times in the past, and it is good to see it again. Good luck with your Kilimanjaro trip!
I enjoyed this video Derek even though I originally watched the short 1s.Every step taken ment something on your journey its a wonderful walk through a part of Ireland and the wee stories of the people that you meet along the way ,well they are the glue that sticks it all together. Thanks Derek.
Beautifully narrated Derek and congrats on your trip youve captured it so nicely. A lot of negativity has crept into this great island...people have lost touch with the land and our ancestors who made it what it was, it is a natural medicine. See you on the trails baby 😉

Thank you Derek for this incredible journey… so honest and so true…. Wow you have given us a fresh understanding of how deep our roots go into the spiritual life in Ireland.. all those places where God and his people lived and served God and others . Thanks for all those miles you walked!
Very powerful documentary and refreshing to see such faith throughout.
Thank you very much. I was surprised with how many times this faith was either rewarded or acknowledged along the way. I think People in Ireland (in general) are no longer receptive to faith/religion and so i was also surprised not to receive any pushback or criticism when I talked about faith or visited the churches etc in my videos🙏
Absolutely fabulous, well done Derek and thank you for sharing ❤
Well done, thank you for sharing your journey with us. Love the way you intertwine history, culture and song.
Brilliant summary of your trip. Thank you Derek!

But as much as I enjoy walking & camping I could never do it in the harsh conditions as you do! Well done! 👏💚🙏🌻
Thank you so much for this video. Lovely and very meaningful for me, and I’m sure for others as well. Many words of wisdom! 🤗
Absolutely beautiful, congratulations amazing video.
Your trip has inspired me to also go hiking in Ireland. I hope I can do this in 2024.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Absolutely amazing documentary, so inspiring & truly magical, it was really
well put together.
Wonderful
Thank you for sharing your journey Derek
The greatest gift great saying.
1:17 😂😂😂 Couldn't of timed it better.🌧💨💨💨💨
Superb show! Thank you. 👍

As feet are like ice 🧊 blocks

Thank you so much for sharing your journeys. I just purchased Unsung Hero and I can't wait to read it.
I didn't miss an episode of the series and I still happily watched this from start to finish. A fabulous documentary. Well done 👏
Fantastic Derek, I loved it 👏
Hi Derek, I started watching your journey on facebook more than halfway after the start and really love this compilation.
You are a true inspiration, thank you.
Hi Derek. Good Documentary. Well done.
I enjoyed this video Derek even though I originally watched the short 1s.Every step taken ment something on your journey its a wonderful walk through a part of Ireland and the wee stories of the people that you meet along the way ,well they are the glue that sticks it all together. Thanks Derek.
this is outstanding.
Beautifully narrated Derek and congrats on your trip youve captured it so nicely. A lot of negativity has crept into this great island...people have lost touch with the land and our ancestors who made it what it was, it is a natural medicine. See you on the trails baby 😉
Thank you for sharing your journey. So brave of you to do this ❤
I enjoyed this so much, beautifully done, thank you
I love that. Thank you
