Why do I get a weird feeling that the Pelicans will be compared to the Lob City Clips in the future because they have a great passing point guard and 2 high flyers in the front court?
i think it's just the similarities between blake and zion. the pels have the scoring wing that the clips lacked (ingram), and lonzo is less ball-dominant than cp3 - but also may never be good enough to be a starting PG on a championship team.
Len Walker Has Lonzo ever proved he was good enough though? He’s having a solid season right now, but the pelicans aren’t even a playoff team, let alone a championship team. Though you could chalk that up to not starting off the season with Zion
Injuries definitely didn’t help, but they were still disappointing as they choked a decent bit as well, I always felt like the Clippers were missing a secondary shot creator alongside Chris Paul during their run

Lob City had no business not winning a ring. Lob City and OKC (you cant choose a year they just always find a way to fail) are the two biggest disappointments of the 2010’s.
I feel like this team definitely disappointed. But it was a combination of choking, horrible luck, poor late game execution, and lots of injuries. 2012 and 2013 they were just outplayed. 2014 against the Thunder and 2015 vs the Rockets were definitely choke jobs. While 2016 and 2017 were definitely losses due to injury.
I don't know how you managed to NOT bring up the terrible calls from the refs in the Clippers vs OKC Game 5. They wrongly called an out of bounds on the clippers to give OKC the ball, and called a nonexistent foul on a terrible westbrook bricked 3 pointer to give OKC the lead.
I don't think they disappointed simply because I never thought they were that good to begin with...I always saw them as a team lacking relevant talent, and there always were one or more western conference teams that were better or more solid than them...
They were supposed to win the whole thing after beating my Spurs in the first round and being 2 games up on Houston in the semi-finals. Probably the worst choke-job I've ever seen. Thunder and Warriors included............

As a huge Clippers fan, and as Rusty is my favourite daily NBA TH-camr, I was particularly interested in this video. While I agree with your ultimate take, I think you missed some key moments and context. Firstly, why they lost to the Grizzlies in 2013, you mentioned that Blake Griffin came off the bench, that was because he sprained his ankle in Game 4 or Game 3 I forget which and was effected for the rest of the series. Now the Grizzlies were a matchup nightmare for the Clippers anyway so chances are we'd lose regardless but we did win the first 2 games before the ankle sprain so theres that. The year after that, you completely glossed over both on court and off the court issues, with the obvious lingering effect of the Donald Sterling tape and the emotional and mental effect that it had on the team. And on the on court issue, Clippers were 7 points up with 50 seconds to go vs Thunder in Game 5 in OKC to go up 3-2 with Game 6 in LA and Chris Paul had without doubt the worst 50 seconds of his career. Now a lot of people will blame the refs, as they did have a terrible call but in my opinion in was all on CP3. CP3 is still my all time favourite player but it was a truly terrible minute for him. My consolation is that no one was beating that Spurs team that year as they were probably one of the greatest finals teams of all time and they were on a mission to beat Miami. 2015 against the Rockets, completely inexcusable. No mitigating excuses except lack of depth. 2016 is the year I genuinely felt we had our best chance of winning a title. People forget, the night before game 4 Steph Curry sprained his ankle and was a doubt for the next few weeks. Clippers would have faced a Steph Curry-less Warriors for the first 3-4 games. And given how the Warriors were pushed to the brink against OKC and ultimately lost to Cleveland, I truly believe a full powered Clippers would have won. And within minutes of each other Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are ruled out for the rest of the playoffs and that was that. One thing that never gets talked about was the HEROIC performance from Austin Rivers in Game 6 in Portland. Austin Rivers was huge for the Clippers in general but that game was his finest hour. He took an elbow to the eye in the first quarter, came back after getting 11 stitches in the eye and couldn't see out of it and was sensational at point guard with 21 points, 6 boards and 8 assists and most impressively ZERO turnovers and was one half court heave away from taking it to overtime. Next year was over as soon as Blake was ruled out for the season after game 3 I think. But ultimately I agree with the conclusion, I just think you missed a lot of context and nuance that led to it. I think 2015 and 2016 was the peak and the best chance of winning a title. I think if we see out Houston, I think the 2015 Clippers vs 2015 Warriors would have been an all time barnstorming WCF. Would have been so good to watch. And I truly think we get past 2016 GSW, although Blake had been below his best since returning from the quad and broken shooting hand when he punched the trainer but I think that series would have been won on guard play and CP3 taking advantage of Livingston and a hobbled Curry after his injury. But those were the two years I felt the Clippers had a real shot.
Before watching this video, I think it's very similar to the heatles in the sense that a lot of things outside of their power led to them being disappointing
Yeah definitely underrated, in the 96 finals the three games he was guarding Jordan Jordan's averages were 23.6 ppg on 36 percent shooting from the field(which is mostly inflated due to game 5 where mj shot 50 percent from the field, the other two games he actually shot closer to 28 percent from the field) and a ts% of 48.5 percent, good fucking God
Yes they Were Disappointing also a lot of Series were a Choke from the Clippers Paul Averaged 13 against the Spurs in 2012 Against the Grizzlies in 2013 Crawford, Jordan and Blake combined for just 27 points on Disappointing Efficiency In 2015 they Blew a 3-1 Series against the Rockets with Literally Everyone Choking in some of these Games
They had an injury every year they went to contend (maybe except for one idk). Much like OKC, not only did they get injured, they got injured at the worst time to a key player
One problem they had was their inability to find a good sf to cement the starting lineup. I also think chemistry was a little bit of a problem as CP3 and Blake didn’t always get along and i personally don’t think there was a year where they were the best team in the west but I guess overall it was a little disappointing they never made a western conference finals. Still one of my fav teams of all time though
This page really helped with the lack of sports over the past few months. You’re one of the most reliable YTs when it comes to uploads and interesting content. Keep grinding appreciate you 💯💪🏾
The Grit and Grind Grillizes went to the West Conference finals and the Lob City Clippers did not, take that for data! Doc Rivers was the GM for most of Lob City and he was terrible at getting players.
They weren't beating the spurs in 2014 anyway 2015 was the year that really broke the soul of this team. After the win over the spurs it felt like it was their time. They were then dominating the rockets while the warriors for the first time all season were struggling a bit in the memphis series. And then when you take into account that no one in the east was a threat (assuming kyrie still ended up getting injured). Everything seemed aligned for them to win it all, but then they just completely collapsed against the rockets and the rest was history.
The Clippers has always been a disappointment since its existence. Having CP3 and Blake Griffin made the Clippers a good team, but not a team that could be considered a real threat
I think their roster was overrated. CP3 and Blake were amazing, DJ was really good-and they did choke pretty fuckin hard that one time-but they weren’t an honest championship roster.
Adam Hoffman Yeah, but I think D antoni could be an exception for his strange career as a coach. He has made mvps like nash and harden. But he lacks post season succes.
The were never going to make the Finals with no true superstar. CP3 was elite but not a superstar at that point due to scoring limitations. So can really call them a disappointment for not going just 1 round further?
I can say I agree and disagree with your comment it was still a good team that can win the west if they had a healthy roster with jordan Blake and cp3 but they got into injuries also doing bad in the playoffs aganist the thunder and rockets the clippers had no shot creators other then paul also a Good SF that can play defense but they got barnes but he didnt last that long but the roster around 2015 was old with a lot of old players like barnes and davis pierce and smith I believe was playing so they became worse with these injuries and perform bad in the playoffs
It is difficult to expect a different final comment, the OKC thunder have disappointing for over 10 years with great talent and they are yet only getting a bit worse every year with now being in the mid card.
Without a doubt they were disappointing. 2015 was their best shot to win it all as OKC missed the playoffs and they beat the defending champion spurs and could’ve beaten the warriors like they did the year before but ended up choking to the rockets🤦🏾♂️
You can say they were lucky cuz the spurs after 2014 largely declined due to injures to kawhi, diaw and other players also parker and Duncan were aging and were in their late 30s. Diaw was in his last legs. Marco Belini as well
Haven't seen the video yet but ai can already say as a Clippers fan they're overrated because of how fun they were. The team was absolutely incredible but they underachieved so hard because of Blake and CP3's health (so pissed CP3 went Vegan after he left LA cause his hamstrings needed him to) Every playoff series I can think of they got hurt and left everyone saying "Next year when they're healthy!" But the only year they were they blew a 3-1 lead and a ~28 point game 5 to Josh Smith 3 pointers (who the Clippers signed the next season cause GM Doc Rivers only signed Players who played well against the Clippers, for Doc in Boston, or his son). It made me so angry how much the team underachieved, after going to the Game 7 of the final playoff series of Lob City, I was begging them to blow it up cause I knew Blake and CP3 would keep getting injured and Doc wasn't going to put a good SF next to them ever. I love that team and the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 Clippers have my heart for life, but wow did they disappoint. Greatest team to never make the WCF, call it the Sterling Curse cause that team needed to be exercised
Beyond disappointing it's Chris Paul should have been on the Los Angeles Lakers disappointing they had a better trade package disappointing, they past owner was racist as hell disappointing
Fun as hell to play with in 2k tho

The new pod episode was really funny
You should make a video about Gary Payton being underated or overated
Id say underrated
Yeah definitely underrated, in the 96 finals the three games he was guarding Jordan Jordan's averages were 23.6 ppg on 36 percent shooting from the field(which is mostly inflated due to game 5 where mj shot 50 percent from the field, the other two games he actually shot closer to 28 percent from the field) and a ts% of 48.5 percent, good fucking God
Of course underrated
Yes they Were Disappointing also a lot of Series were a Choke from the Clippers
Paul Averaged 13 against the Spurs in 2012
Against the Grizzlies in 2013
Crawford, Jordan and Blake combined for just 27 points on Disappointing Efficiency
In 2015 they Blew a 3-1 Series against the Rockets with Literally Everyone Choking in some of these Games
Yeah they were disappointing. They had a chance but piss it away. They had enough talent to at least make a WCF. They were fun to watch.
Yes they were...but not as disappointing as the Golden State Warriors!
Fun fact I liked this video with my right pinky toe
They had an injury every year they went to contend (maybe except for one idk). Much like OKC, not only did they get injured, they got injured at the worst time to a key player
okc was healthy except for 2013 and 2015
One problem they had was their inability to find a good sf to cement the starting lineup. I also think chemistry was a little bit of a problem as CP3 and Blake didn’t always get along and i personally don’t think there was a year where they were the best team in the west but I guess overall it was a little disappointing they never made a western conference finals. Still one of my fav teams of all time though
I understand if they win the finals but not even making it to the conference finals? That’s very disappointing
They weren't beating the spurs in 2014 anyway
2015 was the year that really broke the soul of this team. After the win over the spurs it felt like it was their time. They were then dominating the rockets while the warriors for the first time all season were struggling a bit in the memphis series. And then when you take into account that no one in the east was a threat (assuming kyrie still ended up getting injured). Everything seemed aligned for them to win it all, but then they just completely collapsed against the rockets and the rest was history.
don't even gotta watch the video to say: hell yeah
Were the 2003 and 2004 lakes disappointment?
They remind me of run tmc warriors lowkey
I want a video of the career f J.R smith. Promising career to henny god
You're right! I never really thought about how much of a retirement home the lob city clippers were. Lol
If the older players were in their primes, holy crap!
The Clippers has always been a disappointment since its existence. Having CP3 and Blake Griffin made the Clippers a good team, but not a team that could be considered a real threat
This is the answer
What’s up with your shoes? They look like platform shoes for small people, even though you are tall.
have you never heard of Air Force 1s lol?
Can you also talk about the Rockets with Dwight and the Durant Thunder
There's just a downgrade version of payton and kemp
I think their roster was overrated. CP3 and Blake were amazing, DJ was really good-and they did choke pretty fuckin hard that one time-but they weren’t an honest championship roster.
Can you make a underrated or overrated of Mike d antoni.
Idk if he’ll do coaches
Marco Belini as well
They lost to the grizzlies in 2012-13 because Blake was playing limited minutes because of an ankle injury
Rusty I have a question who do you think will be better ja or zion
Zion easy
Rusty Buckets lmao ima screenshot that just incase that becomes like your Luka and Trae take.
Injuries and bad refing
Suggestion: Lebrons second stint in Cleveland
Deandre jordan was never a true 3rd star. I'm tired people acting like he was
Yes and as a lakers fan I’m glad.
We all should be so lucky, but they have a good chance to win this year.
either that or pure suffering at the same time
Can you do this on the Westbrook,KD OKC Thunder team?
Mind you this was my favorite roster during this time period no 🧢
Can you do the 7 seconds suns
Why don’t you ever talk about the 7 seconds or less suns ?
Devin booker overrated or underrated please!
that would be fye
Overrrrrrr
I’d say over imo
Beyond disappointing it's Chris Paul should have been on the Los Angeles Lakers disappointing they had a better trade package disappointing, they past owner was racist as hell disappointing
Greatest team to never do it
Video Idea: Sun's offense vs Houston's offense mvp Nash vs mvp duo Russ and Harden under Mike D'Antoni. Which one is underrated or overrated?
huh, lost to the rockets with harden shooting bad?
Damn Rusty haven’t looked at that sub count since 64k 👀👀
In 2014 and 2015 Clippers shoulda ein the champ, alright I understand 2014, but bruh 2015 they shoulda won
