It's not reindeer. Reindeer are huge and they're the ones that come from the northern European countries. They're the ones Father Christmas uses to pull his sledge 🛷. There are many varieties of deers, the whitetail being one. Also reindeer have antlers on their heads. Look up the different varieties of deers. Calling it reindeer is like calling a chicken a turkey, they're birds.

A known introduction of the white tailed deer to Jamaica was when deer escaped from local tourist attraction Somerset Falls during Hurricane Gilbert in 1988. During the hurricane, 6 deer escaped from Somerset Falls in Portland and went into the wild.
So true and they have been breeding and spreading since. People in Hope Bay area of Portland have been enjoying them for quite some time. One was picked up at sea by a fisherman during heavy rains, maybe it tried to cross a river in spate.
